Zang Introduces New Updates for Zang Cloud at DeveloperWeek NY 2017
Zang, a subsidiary of Avaya and a leading provider of digitally-native communications solutions for enterprises, has announced four new features to its robust communication platform-as-a-service, Zang Cloud. Launched at the recently concluded DeveloperWeek, New York’s largest developer conference and expo, Zang Cloud’s rich, new features include Automatic Speech Recognition, SIP Registration, Multimedia Messages Services (MMS), and Text-to-Speech Enhancements.
Mo Nezarati, General Manager at Zang, said that the event was the best place for them to showcase the latest updates that are intended to help developers embed rich communications features directly into mobile and cloud-based applications. “By providing dramatically simple tools and APIs, Zang is dedicated to enabling developers and businesses to change the game of smart customer communications and collaboration,” said Nezarati.

Fuze Bolsters Presence in Latin America
2017 continues to be a year of expansion for Fuze, one of the fastest growing enterprise cloud communications solutions providers today. After raising an additional $104M in funding in February, debuting a new solution, and moving to a bigger headquarters in Boston, Fuze continues its upward trajectory with its latest expansion in Latin America. Fuze announced that they have opened a new data center in Brazil in order to cater to the increased demand from enterprise customers. Their new data center is designed to improve call quality for Fuze subscribers in the region and extend their global reach. With this expansion, Fuze now has a total of nine data centers located across four regions.
Aside from the opening of its new data center, the company also announced the availability of its desktop and mobile apps in three new languages: German, French, and Spanish. In a release, Derek Yoo, CTO and co-founder at Fuze, said that “By expanding multi-language capabilities on our platforms and growing our global data center presence, we are making our products and services even more accessible to support a common goal: the ability to work from everywhere with localized, high-quality experiences.”

CounterPath Releases New Version of Bria Softphone for Desktop
In line with its mission of delivering exceptional customer experience for users, CounterPath, a global provider of award-winning, over-the-top (OTT) Unified Communications (UC) solutions for enterprises and carriers, has unveiled a new and much-improved version of its Bria softphone for desktop. Sangoma Technologies Acquires VoIP Supply
Sangoma Technologies Corporation, a leading provider of globally scalable Voice-Over-IP telephony systems, caps off the second quarter with the announcement of its intent to acquire VoIP Supply, North America’s leading distributor of IP communications systems and solutions.
Bill Wignall, President and CEO of Sangoma, said in a release that VoIP Supply will be an excellent strategic addition to their business, given its strong online presence, web traffic, and ecommerce/inside-sales model. “Further, this acquisition will provide Sangoma even closer contact with key resellers, system integrators, and end-users, deepening our relationships with these important clients,” said Wignall.
The transaction is expected to be completed in early July 2017, subject to standard closing conditions. Once the acquisition is finalized, VoIP Supply will operate as a separate subsidiary of Sangoma. VoIP Supply’s current President, Paula Griffo, will also continue to stay at the helm of the company on a permanent basis.
