Alliance Phones Reviews

Alliance Phones is a business phone service provider that offers hosted VoIP to small and medium-sized businesses around the country. They deliver three different cloud-based VoIP plans that offer businesses rich PBX features and no annual contract. Alliance Phones focuses purely on the most crucial business needs, and deliberately decided not sell residential phone service so that they could fully focus on business innovations. The company prides themselves in owning their own technology, which means that they can easily troubleshoot, fix, maintain, and upgrade their systems on a regular basis.

Editorial Review

Headquartered in South San Francisco, Alliance Phones specializes in cloud-based VoIP services for small and mid-sized businesses. Although relatively new to the industry (founded in 2012), Alliance Phones takes a straightforward approach to their VoIP solutions, offering competitive and feature-rich plans that are more affordable than traditional phone solutions.

Easy, Simple, and Effortless Plans

Switching to Alliances Phones can’t only be described as easy, simple, and effortless. Their business phone plans are also named after these three words. Easy Plus plan is suitable for businesses with 1-3 users; Simplicity Plus plan is intended for businesses that require 4-20 lines; and Effortless Plus plans is for larger companies with 21-100+ users. Each plan comes with Unlimited Minutes, Rich PBX Features, No Initial Setup Fees, and Monthly Contracts.

24/7 Customer Support

Alliance Phones offers 24/7 customer support. Their friendly staff is based in the U.S. and can be reached through phone or email. For concerns about installation and configuration, Alliance Phones  also has  a detailed guide published on their website to assist users.

They advertise FREE unlimited calling to the US and Canada and FREE magicJack to magicJack international calling, which it's an absolute lie. I signed for five years service promotional fee, that was 99.99, when the bill came in CAN dollars, was $187.90 they said they where not using the banking rate exchange and they have to charge me the exchange that was based on their calculations. I tried to cancel but they said I only would be refunded 17.00can because penalties for the cancelation. So I didn't have a choice and I had to keep the service. A month later, all a the sudden I stop receiving phone calls, I tried to fix the problem from my MJ online account but didn't worked. I tried to keep using the service just making outgoing calls and every often the calls where interrupted by recordings reminding to check my account or simply interrupted my phone calls. I contacted customer service which they said they where unable to fix the problem and they where unable to tell me the reason why my account was in hold. It took me few weeks calling every day and trying to contact someone to help me, but they told me that they where not even in the American continent to attend my concern. They said that they where in a place which they where no allowed to tell me, but they said they will pass my report. Couple of weeks later the problem became obsessively annoying interrupting my outgoing phone calls. I was unable to find help for this problem, so I decided to become rude with these people and they transferred to a supposed responsible. I was on my only account while I was speaking with this woman and she said hold on in the phone and she just cancelled all applications, devices and services which I saw the changes instantly on line. She came back to me on the phone and she said that I violate the time allowed on my service. I said that I paid for the five years service and that was advertised as unlimited phone, she said that some where in the 56 pages agreement said that the services isn't unlimited phone calls passing certain period per day. So they took my 187.90 can, they tried to make an other charge for the cancellation which thanks to my bank blocked the charge, they cancelled all my apps, devices and blocked the number I was using to contact them. There's no agency or government service to report this company's scam. I would ever recommend to get this terrible service that may was the must expensive phone service I have ever paid.

We recently had to move to a new office, as our company grew, and we've decided to use this opportunity to switch our VOIP Provider, with which we were not too happy anyways. I have to admit that when we saw Alliance Phones quote proposal, at first we did not take it very seriously, as the price seemed pretty low, considering all the features that they offer, on top of which, they have unlimited minutes for US and Canada. However, after we had a few conversations with Alliance Phones, we realized that they are very serious and dedicated to what they do. We even asked them for some references in our state and they were very quick to provide us with such. All the three companies that we called had very nice things to say about them. They were all impressed with their fantastic response and support. They even have an Emergency Support that runs 24/7 and most importantly, it is US based. We have been using Alliance Phones services for about 4 months now and I can honestly say that we had never had any disappointments. They are very kind, quick to act and always ready to go out of their way, in order to satisfy us. Their Web Interface is really easy to use but now I can think of few times, when we were not sure how to setup a certain feature (I think it was the Call Queues) and they did it for us straight away. The best thing about it is that it took them 5 minutes to do it. It's the type of service that we would sincerely recommend!
Great Support, Very Reasonable Prices, Exceptional Sound Clarity and plenty of Features that come with the service, without any extra additional costs.

With 14 months service I can say I'm pretty happy with Alliance Phones. I don't use most of the features offered, but I really like the voicemail-to-email and the cool thing is that my clients can hear my business voicemail even though the phone is forwarded to my cell phone.
Very knowledgeable people. Saved me a lot on my phone bill.
I had to upgrade my Internet speed, because the phones consume more Internet.

Before I decided to go with Alliance Phones I was looking into inhouse PBXs. However it seems like everybody nowadays talks about the cloud. I have 10 Phone units and I don’t care whether I’m on the cloud or off the cloud as long as the price I pay is reasonable. I don’t want to show off my equipment, I just want it to work. I had experience with “buy this equipment” and then you’re on your own, so the concept of the cloud technology “plug and play” sounded more appealing to me. Alliance Phones offered very competitive price and have a friendly staff. Whatever they promised, they delivered.

Recently switched to Alliance Phones. We ported our phone numbers and we were able to configure our Cisco SPA 504 and Cisco SPA 303 phones. Luckily we do not have to use our Cisco UC 320W PBX, which drove us crazy. It would make our phones go wild. They will ring and when you answer them the call will drop. We will go to the basement and restart the Cisco UC and this would fix the problem, but this is not something that we would like to engage on a weekly basis. We did purchase support for it, but I still had to run and restart it manually. Alliance Phones do not only eliminated this chaos, but added additional features to our phone system – online fax, voicemail to e-mail (attachment) not just notification (as it’s with 320W), intercom and custom music on hold and I think in case of power failure the phones are automatically forwarded to our cell phones. (Well we have UPS so I guess that should be some kind of huge emergency). Anyhow we love the service.

We switched to Alliance Phones business phone service about 7 months ago and have never looked back. The customer service is excellent and we've literally had no problems getting set up, and have not had to deal with any down time. We are a mid-sized law firm and definitely need a phone system that we can count on. We'd recommend it to any other small to medium sized business.
Good customer service, seems to always be running fine

The Rub

Easy, effortless, and simple not only describe how seamless it is to switch to Alliance Phones phone service. Alliance Phones offers its three main system plans with the same slogans.

Our Two Cents

For a solid, simple, and straight-forward VoIP service, Alliance Phones offers three tier options to meet your business VoIP needs: Easy Plus, Simplicity Plus, and Effortless Plus. The more users you have, the cheaper the monthly cost per user. What's even better is that they operate on monthly contracts, making it a good choice for businesses who don't want to be tied into a long term contract. Each tier comes with unlimited minutes to the U.S. and Canada on top of big features, with no initial setup fees. Alliance Phones also lets you try their phone system through a free demo, where you can get a free temporary number and unlimited free calling for 30 days.

Another bonus to Alliance Phones is that they offer US-based support if users have any questions, as well as an email option for any support-related questions. They also offer an online help chat, too, for customers who want to message their questions to a live agent.
