Provider in the Spotlight: Voice Carrier
Located in San Jose, CA in the heart of Silicon Valley, Voice Carrier is a dynamic technology company that delivers high quality business VoIP solutions to any business of any size. Voice Carrier was founded in 2007, and launched business in 2009. In their four years of business, Voice Carrier has brought enterprise-grade VoIP phone service to thousands of business customers.
These businesses don’t need to have an existing phone system already in place, as Voice Carrier can help them start from scratch. However, if a business does have an existing phone system, they can still dramatically cut their phone bill, and add modern new phone system features by upgrading to IP technology. All they have to do is purchase a VoIP media gateway in order to connect their legacy analog phone system to Voice Carrier’s enhanced cloud based phone service. Voice Carrier can also connect your newer IP enabled PBX with SIP trunking for the same low rates.
Award Winning VoIP Service
Voice Carrier has already won several awards for being a young company. In 2010, Voice Carrier won Unified Communications Magazine’s 2010 Product of the Year Award. In 2011, Voice Carrier won Internet Telephony’s Product of the Year Award for the second year in a row. Internet Telephony, a TMC publication, has also awarded Voice Carrier the Excellence Award four times.
Founded with Experience
Voice Carrier was founded and lead by seasoned veterans in the VoIP and telecom industry. This includes CTO Paul Mahler, an expert on Asterisk, the brain of PBX software, and CEO Gary Johnson, a Silicon Valley executive who has lead 5 startups, and has started 4 NASDAQ IPO’s
Scalable VoIP Business Solutions
Voice Carrier is perfect for small, medium, and growing companies. The Voice Carrier system can scale from 3 to hundreds of phones with a single hosted PBX. Voice Carrier focuses the most on VoIP service, but also provides four main VoIP connectivity solutions: VoIP media gateways, hosted PBXs, on-premise IP PBXs, and enhanced SIP trunks.
Office VoIP Phone Service
Voice Carrier can help businesses save over 70% on their monthly phone bills just by using the Internet to make and receive phone calls. Along with monthly savings, Voice Carrier gives companies a dozen free features with their VoIP plan. Some of the features include:
- 800 numbers
- Local numbers
- Conference Bridges
- Follow Me
- Electronic Fax
- Call Forwarding
- Call Screening
- Multiple Extensions
- Music on hold
- Call Logs
- Automated attendant
- Customized greetings
- Message alerts
- Voicemail to email
To take advantage of all of Voice Carrier's features, Voice Carrier recommends that users upgrade to IP phones, or install a VoIP Media Gateway which connects to the customer’s existing traditional phone system in order to take advantage of Internet calling technology and cost.
SIP Trunks
Voice Carrier offers enhanced SIP trunking service for offices with in-house IP PBXs. A SIP trunk carries all incoming and outgoing calls on one low cost channel. If a company has 20 extensions, but only makes about 10 concurrent calls at any given time, a company only has to buy a 10 line plan (10 channels) on a single SIP trunk. This offers significant cost savings over other providers since Voice Carrier does not charge by the individual extension or seat.
Hosted PBX
A hosted PBX combines the technologies of an IP PBX and a SIP trunk in a hosted PBX system that is maintained in the cloud by Voice Carrier. Whenever a company needs to make changes to their extensions or system, they simply send Voice Carrier a request for a system update, and it will be taken care of automatically. This provides a seamless scalable phone system that can start small and grow as needed, but keeps the costs down since there are no significant additional capital expenditures associated with the growth.
Making the Switch from PSTN to VoIP
Voice Carrier knows that not all businesses have modernized their phone equipment quite yet. Since 2010, Voice Carrier has been integrating low cost VoIP monthly service with existing legacy PBX phone systems. Voice Carrier’s media gateway business model enables the customer to extent advanced features within the platform such as providing remote extensions, conference bridges and more, along with providing the connectivity to the PSTN from their existing legacy PBX. Voice Carrier has done all of this while also creating and serving virtual PBX phone systems for thousands of business customers that were ready to modernize to an all IP phone solution.
As their awards show, Voice Carrier is a superior business VoIP provider, proven to provide excellent service while saving companies thousands of dollars each year.
