Veteran IP-PBX software provider Dialexia discusses working with SMEs & reveals its latest VoIP business solutions
Interview with Olivier Benny, Marketing Director at Dialexia
-To begin, tell us a bit about Dialexia.
We're a Canadian PBX software and solution provider focused primarily on serving the SME segment since 2001. Today we're among the leading North American providers of IP-PBX software for small businesses and our VoIP platforms are used by companies in over 30 different countries worldwide. We work with a rather diverse clientele that includes operators, solution providers, resellers & small business owners.
- Dialexia was one of the first companies to begin providing IP-PBX solutions to SMEs. Looking back, what do you find most surprising about the enterprise VoIP segment today?
When I joined Dialexia 2 years ago, I was surprised to learn just how many SMEs out there were still using traditional PBXs and landlines. I've come to understand that its simply a case of enterprises being cautious and correctly recognizing that their next communication platform will have a significant effect on how they do business for many years to come.
- What are VoIP customers in the SME segment yearning for in 2015?
I'd say the most frequently sought-after quality for an IP-PBX system today - even among our most technically savvy clients - is simplicity. Granted, customers also want a system that provides rich features and useful business apps, so our development team has placed a lot of focus on ensuring that end users will effectively harness all the capabilities our platform offers, regardless of how technology-proficient they are. We've found that the best way of achieving this is by creating products that are simple, intuitive, straightforward and user-friendly.
- Any new PBX products in the works for 2015?
Yes, a few actually. Our latest product - the Office AX appliance - was unveiled in a company newsletter just last month. We've also begun taking orders on HERO hospitality, a cloud-based PBX platform designed to drastically reduce recurring phone costs and enhance customer service in hotels. We're really excited about both offerings.
- Could you tell us a bit more about what the Office AX appliance will consist of?
The Office AX appliance will be our first standalone IP-PBX solution; a hardware-software bundle with everything a business needs to get started with VoIP. The appliance will come pre-installed with the award-winning Dial Office IP-PBX software, supporting up to 400 SIP phones and 96 concurrent calls. With an installation time of just under an hour, Office AX will allow businesses to enjoy a fast and hassle-free transition from traditional PBX to IP-based communications. We are currently in the final stages of testing and will be announcing an official launch date later this month.
