As pretty much anyone has a cell phone nowadays, I decided to cut my
"standard" phone line 4 or 5 years ago.
I still wanted a home phone though, but not with the regular expense so I
looked into VOIP providers.
After some serious research, I decided to settle with voip.ms as it seemed to
be the service that offered what I needed at a very affordable price and the
reviews were excellent. I have been with them since and I am very happy with
their service. Price is good, features are all there (there are way more
features available than I know what to use), service has been extremely
reliable. I have had to contact their customer service a couple of times,
nothing related to their end, once for installation and a couple of times
something happened with my ATA. Customer service was fast to respond and fast
to resolve the problem.
All in all, I am very happy with their service and will recommend them
without hesitation for a low cost, fully featured and reliable service.

I've been using voip.ms for over 12 years -- the earliest invoice I can find
is from 2009 -- and the service has been consistently excellent. I've
integrated their service with open-source PBX systems like Asterisk, directly
with phone handsets, and more, and it has all worked perfectly. When I first
started using their service, it was mostly just trunk service and back then
it was by FAR one of the most price-competitive offerings. In the subsequent
decade and more, they've added so many features to the platform that I don't
even need to run my own PBX any more. Ordering DIDs is painless, and even
custom tollfree DIDs are delivered pretty quickly... all while maintaining
their very competitive pricing. I can't recall ever having a major outage,
and I don't think I've ever even had to contact customer support -- it really
does Just Work(tm).
Truly a fantastic service if you have enough technical knowledge to set up
your own devices.
