Remote office support, employee portal, helpful support

I've read the reviews around here and people seem to be Nextiva fans for multiple reasons, for me the reason we switched to nextiva was the features. Price is important, particularly when we consider how tough it is to make money right now. It seems like every business I've encountered has been hit in some way.
Nextiva gives each of our employees their own control panel which is very important because most of the sales team works remotely. We are able to forward all calls to their home/cell phones using the call handling profiles feature and they've been very pleased. The voicemail to email feature is impressive (I'm not the biggest techy btw). A great thing about Nextiva is that we are always connected and our phone system has made us more efficient and the entire system is easy to manage. Nextiva costs us less than what we would have been paying with our local provider as well as most other voip companies. I called their sales department and spoke with a representative that was very helpful and knew what he was talking about. Customer service is something that far too many companies lack these days and its wonderful to see that Nextiva has a strong commitment to their users, this is what we try to achieve with our business as well. When customers are happy your business will succeed, it is tough to do well if you don't treat customers with care and treat each one as a priority. Comcast somehow does well without caring, which is a whole other issue.

--Very low price--Great call quality--Instant access once we bought our initial $5 prepaid minutes--Calling card option--(haven't had to use their service) --Don't have as many features as Vonage, but who cares!

We are a video surveillance/POS Integration company with multiple lines.  We are paying about $260/month for 4 lines, so we started using our FiOS connection for voice calls with Callcentric.
So far, the only issues we've had has been misconfiguration on our side using 3CX as our internal PBX and of course our wireless headsets, but that's not Callcentric's fault.
We have asked over 50 customers about the quality of the call and 100% have indicated it's no different than it was before using conventional land line.
Prices are $0.0198 per minute and our bill this month has been less than $48, plus now we have an auto-attendant service along with extensions, music on hold and lots of other features.
I am somewhat disappointed that Callcentric's features aren't as rich as some other companies such as Voicemail to Text/Email, but for now, we can live with $210/month more in our pockets than the phone company's!!!
Our broadband service is 5Mbps downstream, 2Mbps upstream with us doing constant video surveillance monitoring for our customers in addtion to slightly higher than normal Internet traffic.
I'll post additional updates as we use the service more.

Couldnt be much better
I read a lot reviews, and waited 3 months before getting my first VOIP system.  I have had this new PhonePower.com system connected for 4 days, and it is perfect so far.
I use a SMC Router directly connected to a standard 5 meg Charter supplied cable modem.  I ordered the HT502 VOIP adapter from PhonePower, which was free except for $14.95 shipping and handeling. (a bit high, but I suspect it pays for the unit also)
Ignoring the instructions I connected the adapter to an available port on my router.  I plugged in a spare phone to the adapter and connected its power supply.  I waited till the green lights showed up, picked up the phone and it just plain worked!  I did some test calls... sound quality was perfect... not good, I mean perfect.  Identical to the AT&T line.
By connecting the adapter downstream from the router I did not have to disturb the existing 5 computers I have connected to it. (8 port router).  I considered this a huge bonus, as I had planned on an afternoon of resetting, and sorting out IP address issues.  As it turns out I did not put a rating in for their tech support above, because I've never talked to them since it worked right out of the box!
With the taxes, shipping, fees, etc... my total charge was (advertised at $199) $253.26 for 24 months of unlimited service... thats still only works out to be $10.55/month.
Lessons Learned that might help others:
1. Order whatever the companies recommended adaptor is.  DONT try to use an existing one... unless you can verify you have an exact matching model and firmware level with customer support in advance.
2. Order the transfer of your current phone number to be at least  10 days in the future.  This way, there is time for the adaptor to arrive and you can set it up immediately and test outgoing calls and has good quality with your setup BEFORE the phone company transfers your number.  This will give you a little cushion to resolve any issues.  Then when the transfer day comes you just need to attach the primary house line and you are done.  If they connection cannot be resolved you can call your existing phone company and cancel the number transfer.

Great product and great company. My firm has been using Jive for years and we love it. We miss Verizon. Ha

Jive provides great customer support and their products work flawlessly.   It is a no brainer.
I have a law firm in New York City and we started using Jive a few years ago after we got fed up with Verizon.   We have never looked back.  We have 7 phones now.  One of our employees is a mom who works from home and she has a Jive phone and we call her from the office - it is like she is here in the office.  Also her clients can call the firm and press her extension number and it is like she is here in the office.   It gives you flexibility to have remote workers.   Also, I love the emails voice mail feature - whenever I get a voicemail at the office, it automatically gets emailed to my iphone so i never miss anything.   I highly recommend Jive.  They also have a great online system that lets you control your phone system and set call forwarding and messaging functions.

being able to program the phones and auto attendant to do exactly what we want! none yet

As a business owner I speak with companies all day long.  I believe that Jive  is a template for a great company with a great staff.  Every moment of contact with the company I get to speak with competent professional employees that are obviously well trained and anxious to help me with anything.  The phones and product are a progressive way to manage my business in this quick changing world of electronics.  Programming is a breeze thanks to an hour long phone training appointment.  The phones are smart!  I would recommend anyone to this company to fill their need for a positive change in their phone needs!  Thanks Jive...you're the best.

Established Provider US Based Customer Service Company harvested emails of my customers and is spamming them. Company double charges ports on web meetings, making a 15 port account receive overage chares with as few as 8 participants. Price is 3x other options. I was a customer in their first six months in the VOIP business in 2005 and have rejected them because of the deterioration of ethics and service I experienced, and that the people I recommended 8x8 to experienced.

I have been a customer since 2005, when 8x8 was still calling itself packet8.  I was a very happy one for years. As you will see below, 8x8 has lost its ethics and lost it way as a service oriented company.
I steered business to 8x8 and have even had personal service from the CEO because they were so small when I started.  Over the last several years, they have not stayed price competitive, but I was fine with that because I had a happy history with the company.
Then they overcharged a non profit I recommended them to by a significant amount.  I had to get involved and fight them on it, finally involving the CEO directly.  The billing was reversed, but they would not make a commitment that this would never happen again since they believed they were in the right.  I had the non-profit close the account.
After that, it was discovered that 8x8 harvested email addresses of every person ever invited to a virtual meeting by that non-profit and has been constantly spamming all of those people ever since.  Two honey pot addresses for the non-profit's invitations receive 5 or more offers per week written in a mail merge to "[undisclosed person]".
I complained to the company multiple times and they will not explain this unethical behavior nor change it.  This time the CEO has not responded. As a result, I am canceling my account today.  I have written the people being spammed to apologize and suggested that they file CANSPAM complaints since almost all are in the USA.
After a review of options, I will prepay two year with a vendor which is $6.21 per month plus CA tax.
8x8 has lost its ethics, and lost its way.  I am so upset that it was painful to give them a 4 star rating for features, and 3's for sound and reliability, but those are 1 assessments.  Ethics is a non-negotiable for me, so the last two items actually bring my overall rating to less than half a star if I had the opportunity to assess the organization as a whole.
