Down time comparable to other VOIP provides I've used (VONAGE in Canada). In short, it is almost never down. Call management system is online and it's easy to review calls, I get voicemail in my email etc. Very customizable call handling rules. Since switching, I've never felt the need to look around for a better provider. I was able to add a second line with all the great calling features and call handling features for less than I was paying to have just a line and a few features. Old fashioned POTS (Bell landline) was more reliable -- honestly phone NEVER went down. Setting up complex answering rules took a good bit of thinking and a bit of trial and error. Not too surprising since I actually handle individual callers differently and shuttle calls from extension to extension and number to number. Let's face it, if I could list any real cons, I would have switched to a different provider long ago.

I have been a customer since March of 2010.
I started with RingCentral because of the flat cost for an toll-free number. I'm from Ontario and my only other option involved getting an 800 number from Bell and then praying that no one would call since I would be billed per minute. Of course, I WANTED people to call, but I was afraid of what the bill would be. Oh, and in addition to the cost to use the service, I paid a fee each month just to have the service.
Ring Central offered me the prospect of having the service for a flat fee that was about the same as I was paying Bell without also having to pay a usage fee.
In addition to this, I spoke with Ring Central reps who were willing to go thru contortions to allow me to use the US service (Ring Central was not in Canada yet) even though I was Canadian.
Over the time I've been with Ring Central I've grown very fond of the online system that allows me to track calls etc and modify my answering rules on a whim. I've even added a second line and been able to silence the phone after 9pm!
Have there been hiccups along the way? Sure. In each case Ring Central was professional and courteous. If I sound like quite the fanboy it's because although I know there have been issues (very few), I don't remember specifics, but I DO remember being happy with the outcomes.
Before Ring Central, I'd been with Bell, Rogers (land line) (local to Canada), and Vonage (VOIP) in Canada and finally Bell for 800 service.

Mobile App, Support, Desktop App

Using RingCentral has truly opened up our business model.  As both a Real Estate Brokerage and as a Short Sale Negotiating company we love it.  In one business we have the Polycom IP phones and the lines are crystal clear.  In our alternate business we have no desk phones and have connected everyone’s cell phone via the RingCentral Extension Manager.   The ability to ring to a desk, forward to a cell, then a home number or even more while always centralizing where the voicemail might be left is exceptional.  We will never go back after working with RingCentral and this system.

Also the mobile phone application as well as the desktop software options are amazing features to be considered when comparing options.  RingCentral won hands down.

The service is lovely and folks at jive respond quickly. I'm a happy customer. I LOVE the interface for changing our call structure. It's so easy and I can change things instantly, without having to call the support desk. We enjoy having the voicemails forwarded to our email, like other providers. The desk phone is awesome. We have just a basic Cisco 4 line phone. It's lovely. Sometimes I wish that Jive could recommend a perfect Softphone. We have 3 Softphones and 1 desk phone, and the desk phone is lovely. The softphone is slightly less reliable.

I recommend Jive without reservation. I think if you're less internet savvy, then you might get frustrated with all VOIP systems. Jive is the easiest I've seen.

Super easy to setup Great price So many functions! Flexibility for call routing is HUGE for my business

I went from 3 analog lines with Hawaiian Telecom that couldn't even handle call-waiting without extra fees to a flat-rate service with Fonality that has features which costs hundreds if not thousands per month from Hawaiian Telecom, AND included phones, AND "anywhere access" to my cloud interface...
I can't even begin to explain how huge this was for my business. It has saved us money because we can juggle calls that we couldn't before - and I can receive calls forwarded to my cell phone automatically with FindMe so I don't miss business.
The system has been running smoothly for over a year, and we have not had one single problem with service or support.

We have had so few problems with the physical phones and the service that I could count them on one hand. There has never been any issues with voice or sound quality either. We have rarely had to call customer service and when we have, they have been pretty responsive. I would recommend Jive to other businesses.

The representative was very polite and went the extra mile to help me with my issue. I had forgotten some of the features, forgot my password, my cell phone dropped the call. The CSR called me back, walked me through everything and waited on the phone with me till my important fax was sent.

At least the caller ID works fine. Calls are absolutely unintelligible ~60% of the time. Tech support blamed it on our internet connection, but my son can receive calls on his itouch with perfect clarity.

We mainly use cell phones but I wanted to maintain a land line as well. The price seemed right but the call quality is so poor its essentially useless. I have been with them for about a year because I've been too lazy too switch. I suspect its people like me who keep them in business.

Customer service is very prompt in emailing back and giving you a solution to whatever issue you have. They have a number of really great features at a very reasonable price point. They include call queues, efax, conference rooms and several others features that most other companies charge for separately. I have found that the call queues work very well. They have a lot of features within them that make them really helpful in our call center. The expandability of Jive is really great. We use it day to day for our small business and we use it for a major call center for disaster relief. We are able to add soft phones and hard phones relatively quickly when we need more. It is not hard to end a line/device either. Which is important. NoneThe sound quality is really pretty good. We have had a couple of times people have complained about a bad connection, but that has been rare. We did have one day shortly after we joined in March that Jive went down for about 5-10 minutes, but we haven't seen any major problems since. Customer service is very slow to answer the phone. I don't think I have ever gotten someone when I call. I just wait in a queue until I grow impatient and hang up. If you leave a message they generally get back to you rather quickly. I have found emailing them is the quickest most efficient way to receive an answer.

Overall I find Jive to be a good solid company with a lot of great extra features. I know they are working to make their reporting have more features and I’m patiently waiting to use those changes. They kindly take ideas and are consistently working to develop their system to meet the needs of their customers.
