Internet Phone is another word for "VoIP" (Voice over Internet Protocol) or "Internet calling". Internet Phone is a great way for people to save money on their monthly phone bill.
Rangatel is a business and residential VoIP service provider headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Rangatel's residential service offers competitive calling rates for nationwide and international calling in addition to low monthly rates and free activation. Their hosted PBX business phone service brings low up-front costs, included features, and U.S.-based support. Rangatel service utilizes an existing internet connection in conjunction with a Rangatel adapter in order to help customers make calls over the internet.
Pathetic service. Horrible customer service. To top it all, today I received
a call mentioning that they are not going to provide service to residential
customers any more. Thwy would like me to move to another provider by 14th
but are not going to reduce my monthly bill if I move out earlier. Least
customer friendly company.. Caution to all those commercial customers.. stay
away from this company. I wish I could give a rating of "-1".
Nothing
Horrible customer service.

and will promise to help yout but nothing happens afterwards... you call them
again no response... Trust me you will go mad..
thye have no values on commitment. Cusotmer are jokes for them and they
belive do what you can do, i dont give a damn to you..
They call quality is going down.. call often gets dropped and many times
there is no service... when you call internatioanlly then call quality is
often no good...
Now i am trying to call them to cancel but no response..already send so many
emails but no response and they are billing me full price regualrly..
I need to take them to consumer court and probably higher a lawyer to team
them a lesson....
i dont know who gave them the license to run the service in this country...

> Poor Customer Service, they never respond to email or returns your voice messages
> Calls disconnect or doesn't connect sometimes
> The cordless adapter they provide will not hold charging
> Cordless dosent have a keypad light, so when you have to make midnight calls you def have to switch on your lights
> In the website they posted their number as 1-877-RANGATEL (1-877-726 42835)this confuse every one who make the call as its a invalid number.
> Support team has no knowledge on their product, even how many minutes can be used per month.
> If they offer you 3 registered extensions as part of your contract, they will cancel any time without notice
> To replace the registered number a fee around 5$ has to be paid every month
> Charges your bank accounts without your authorization
> they post around 50$ of charge upfront when you cancel your account even if you are ready to ship the adapter.
> Like vonage voip adapter is not free
> Calls from wifi or 4G disconnects aswell.
> They promise 100$ Restaurant card but then you have to send them reminder emails and followup with them to get that.

The Skinny
Rangatel Business
Rangatel offers just a few varieties of business VoIP. But these are meaningful varieties:
Business Basic
Business Ultimate
Rangatel Business Basic
Business Basic from Rangatel gives you 500 minutes a month. Additional minutes cost 5 cents each. You can take unlimited inbound calls, though.
You also get some useful features – the only one you don't get with Business Basic is Outlook integration. But if you're going to integrate your phone system with Outlook, you'll probably want something more robust: Rangatel's Business Ultimate.
Rangatel Business Ultimate
Business Ultimate is pretty good, I have to say: unlimited calls to the United States and Canada, plus Outlook integration, plus three-way calling, plus find me/follow me, plus remote office capabilities, plus … you get the picture.
What I really like is that Rangatel has an exceedingly generous Fair Use limit: 10,000 minutes for your business lines. You're prohibited from the usual stuff that VoIP companies don't want you doing without their notice (or period): auto-dialing, continuous call forwarding, telemarketing, or fax abuses. But you’re probably not going to spend 4 work weeks on the phone, so you'll be okay.
Rangatel SIP Trunking
Rangatel also offers a SIP trunking service if you need that; however, when I visited the site on the day after Valentine's Day in 2011, I couldn't find any detailed information on Rangatel's SIP trunking.
Rangatel Residential
Rangatel's most intriguing offer is their residential VoIP service. And the most intriguing offer is:
Residential World Unlimited
$14.99 a month for the first 3 months. $24.99 afterward. No long-term contract. An easy – extremely easy – startup cost calculator.
And you get free calling to 32 countries, including mobile numbers in Canada, Hong Kong, India, PR, Singapore, Thailand, and the USA.
Rangatel does have a fair use limit for residential services; you can only talk for 3,000 minutes a month. But – and this is a big but – you can call internationally for free.
The startup calculator is pretty cool: you get an estimate (taxes can change daily) of your first month's cost, which includes the shipping for your adapter, your first month's price, and the additional cost of your taxes and fees (which are usually about $4).
Rangatel does have a few other options if you need VoIP to replace your home phone service: a residential unlimited service for the US and Canada and a 'basic' service that gives you 500 minutes a month. But the Residential World service is so good, we couldn't resist waxing poetical (and long about it).
