Editorial Review
The 21st century has no shortage of new technologies saturating the market. Even with all the innovation that’s occurred within the past few decades and fierce competition, Cyclix Networks emerged as a leading telecommunications firm that provides quality services to its customers. The company was founded in 2004 and is currently headquartered in New Hampshire, where its primary focus is quality VoIP communications to its user base. What will be covered here today is a review of the VoIP technology owned by the company as well as positives and negatives when it comes to its market presence.
Fantastic and Ultra Functional Company, Great Alternative To Others
Dr. Paul
We are a medical office who used Ring Central. After time we realized we needed to expand. After shopping around we found Cyclix and everything was great ever since we start our process. They helped us every single step of the way and were very dedicated. The system has been functional for some time. The best part was the transition, we did not even realized it happened! We are happy with their fax system. It was the main reason for us to switch due to lost faxes with Ring Central. The call clarity is great. The pricing is amazing. I cannot say enough about the staff, especially Emily, she has been helping our company an immense amount with us fine tuning the system the way we need it to function at an efficient pace.

Great Enterprise SIP Solution
Dean Lebron
This review comes from a global operation with over 1000 employees and over 60 locations in the USA and Canada. We used Cyclix redundant SIP Trunk product which simplified our VoIP Enterprise Solution. We've managed VoIP phone systems since the early 2000's when they were first being introduced. We slowly transitioned from PRI/T1 technology to SIP with Cyclix over the years with a near flawless transition. Voice quality never suffered. As always with any transition we did have some hurdles or incompatibilities but the Cyclix support engineering staff helped resolve and even provide guidance to our integrator. I would highly recommend Cyclix to any Small to Medium sized business looking for SIP Trunk Solutions or Hosted solutions.

Wonderful SMB solution

I've been involved in every step of the process of replacing a myriad of phone systems that we maintain between about 18 sites. We wanted a unified solution for all our locations regardless of state lines and network capabilities. Cyclix has taken care of that in spades. We're operating multiple voip lines on 1mbps pipes over VPN tunnels and the quality of the audio is still there! Our old phone bill has already gone down enough to cover 2/3rds of what we pay for our new service and there are still multiple lines to cut over from the old vendor that would more than cover the cost of monthly operations. Support is readily available and dedicated to making sure problems get solved while you're on the phone, not during a callback when it gets escalated to a higher level technician. All tiers of support are pleasant and knowledgeable at their level of proficiency. I'm not quite sure the feature set would be capable enough for an enterprise grade operation but you'd probably be running your own in house system at that point anyway. For an SMB company, everything you'd need is available and running out of the gate. The only issues I have at the moment are with phone quality and training. The Polycoms we've received seem to have a higher than normal failure rate but we've received replacement devices promptly and they come preconfigured. Your mileage may vary, but it might be worth considering using a Cisco phone system to get a more stable desk set. The training program was recently designed and could use some work. I think once they get the kinks worked out, there could be a lot of benefit there, but it's not quite up to snuff yet. It's also worth noting that we haven't had a single service outage during our time with them. Overall I'm very pleased with our service and would definitely chose them again for our phone system.

The Skinny
Telecommunications companies pride themselves on delivering in-demand quality communication services to customers in high-density areas, and Cyclix Networks is no exception in that regard. Their SIP trunking capability enables users to communicate across vast distances between global locations via SIP switches. SIP is a protocol that’s part of their VoIP architecture, and enables telecom companies to stream multimedia services (including voice and video conferencing) into single paths through IP connections. Their flagship product is Business-Connect, which offers several features that put Cyclix Networks ahead of their competitors. Businesses can easily scale and custom-tailor Cyclix’s available technologies based on three basic plans:
SIP Trunking Plan – For use by small and medium sized businesses.
Enterprise Plan – A usage-type model that revolves around enterprise-level organizations.
Business-Connect – Available at no capital expense. Provides telephones, VoIP services and a managed IP-PBX.
Cyclix’s SIP products are known to be extremely reliable. Whenever call sessions are initiated between users, there is little to no likelihood that the calls will be dropped due to the numerous routes available. Quality of service in regards to calls is excellent as there is no poor quality.
The company’s Business-Connect platform provides secure communications through the VectorX Session Border Controller. With this feature, there's a very unlikely chance that intruders would be able to hijack telecom sessions between users. The border controller prevents outside parties from being able to dial into the session. Instead, only actual users will be able to communicate with others through Cyclix-controlled switches, preventing third parties from hacking into the session.
Business-Connect is able to process numerous transactions at a time without dropping any calls that are in-session thanks to its fault tolerance feature. Any location in the world that has Business-Connect as part of their infrastructure will take the route that has the lowest cost, and possesses redundant routes in the event that one or more routes fail.
Additionally, the company’s customer service support is unparalleled. Cyclix Networks will even send field techs on site to assist in firewall integration, enabling a company to transition seamlessly once the SIP infrastructure is in place. The help desk and remote support teams also provide support and adapt their services according to their client's needs.
Best of all, the Business-Connect platform is cost efficient. No matter the scale, it will always be affordable to the prospective buyer at reasonable prices. Cyclix Networks’ no capital expense package is what makes the company’s products lucrative attractions for those organizations seeking a quality telephony system. When it comes to bandwidth, internet service providers typically like to throttle IP service availability once an entity reaches its bandwidth cap. Cyclix Networks breaks that boundary by making use of available IP connections more efficient and by prioritizing VoIP data over corporate data.
The Rub
Even with the amount of telecom capabilities that saturate the market, there are obstacles encountered whenever new technologies emerge. Cyclix Networks addresses several issues that lay at the forefront of VoIP-based communications where:
Costs are exorbitantly high when it comes to providing multimedia communications services. Classic examples are ISPs capping data rates and charging extra in the event a client goes over the allowed amount as per the contract, or third parties hacking calls and running extra minutes to push expenses upward.
Issues with reliability when it comes to the stability of the calls.
Technical support is not up to standard; telecommunications companies do not put forth enough effort when it comes to tending to their customer's needs.
Bottom Line
Cyclix Network's VoIP capabilities via Business-Connect is a worthwhile investment. Certain companies may think that telephone services are no longer required. In fact, they're in greater demand than they have ever been before, where organizations are working very hard to keep pace with their competitors and providing the best service possible. In summary, small and large businesses would stand to benefit from the perks that this company’s technology is able to provide.
Cyclix Network's Business-Connect™ telephone system & service offers both small and large enterprise clients a state of the art, integrated IP-PBX, VoIP phones, and telecommunications service at no capital expense. Business-Connect™ enables the client to take advantage of the features that VoIP telephony offers in a plug-n-play, no risk, no capital expense package. At the same time the client side-steps all the perils associated with hosted VoIP services.
