CenturyLink has the worst customer service of any company that I've ever dealt with. The customer service reps are poorly trained and speak very little to no English and have trouble understanding questions. For a telecom company I'm astonished about how bad their customer service is, they're useless. I'm trying to get a new line run to my new house for home phone landline service and I've been on the phone with them 3 times and transferred to countless reps and none of them could understand and solve my issue. Then I found the link on their website to contact upper management and I contacted them and all they said was that they'd escalate the case to the supervisor and I never got a response back, then I contacted them again 2 more times inquiring about a follow up and I never got a response back. I implore you not to do any business with CenturyLink, their customer service is absurd.

I ordered service for my residence & business, for which they sent boxes but no one ever showed up to install them. TWICE! Therefore the service was never hooked up. I continued on with spectrum. This was in May of 2019 & they have not stopped billing me or harassing me, to date. They are now trying to say I, a senior citizen ordered self install for my home & business. I would have never done that, not in a million years, that's just one of their lies. I have involved the attorney generals office & centurylink keeps saying they have sent labels to return the boxes & that they will credit everything after they get the boxes. They have never sent the labels & I can prove that through photographed daily mail, in my email. While in the middle of trying to settle things through the office of the attorney general, I get a notice that centurylink has turned my account (that I NEVER had)over to a collection agency. Keeping in mind, centurylink gave me until the 24th of march 2020 to send boxes back (without the labels they claim to have sent)in order to receive the credit, but, On March 21st 2020 is when I received the credit threat. So this is their way of working things out, by lying & deceitful actions. How can someone collect on something they NEVER provided & better yet threaten an excellent credit record for something that NEVER took place?? WORST company & customer service EVER!! Almost a whole year of harassment from this company & still have gotten NO where!

It can get worse than Comcast/Xfinity & CenturyLink is it. Their modem drops signal MULTIPLE MULTIPLE times every day. "Customer service" mocks you & then "accidentally" disconnects you. Smoke signals are more effective than this worthless company's service.

When its worked, its been fine, and was the only option for a while. However, talking to customer service is annoying...they do not understand the idea that their company's errors cause major inconveniences that go beyond the dollar amount of the service. On multiple occasions in the past year was my wife's work at home jeopardized because of the inability to correctly provide service. I had to escalate to management, who did nothing, and finally to corporate, who agreed with me and FINALLY fixed the problem. This is a company who refuses to accept accountability and responsibility.

They were the only ones available at my house

I called the customer service number 800-244-1111 to ask a simple question about my service. I was on the phone 45 minute and talked to 3 people and was then hung up on. No-one knew the answer to my question and one representative told me there were no services connected to my account. That's nuts! I am using the services and I am getting billed for them each month. Centurylink customer service is horrible. Representatives are rude, uniformed and inaccurate compared to other companies with similar services Centurylink is the only provider in my area. This would not happen with free enterprise. So much for regulation! It took me 4 months just to get I'm internet connected. they kept messing up the installation! I then had to make reversal phone calls because there were billing problems! This company is terribly incompetent! How are they allowed to stay in business? Everywhere I look they have terrible reviews!

I've been unable to get a response from my VOIP services relationship manager for 2.5 months, from his manager for 2 months, and from another supervisor for 2.5 months. Every customer service line I call transfers me to a different customer service line, which ends up giving me another manager number (who then never responds). I would feel guilty recommending this service even to my worst enemy. Out of 20 outreaches on my part, I have heard back 5 times; for the past 15 attempts (over the course of 2.5 months), I have been snubbed. Assistance that is serviced is only half-completed and ineffective. Nothing has been followed through to completion. This is absolutely REPREHENSIBLE. RUN AWAY.

None whatsoever.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company. I spoke with 10 different people and nobody was able to help me until the 11th person I talked to was able to figure out what was going on. My service was supposed to be set up on July 11th and I was even given a confirmation number and modem. Come to find out my service was not connected the day they said I was to receive service, and whenever I called for help, no one was able to pull up my account. I asked if I needed to be home for service to be set up, and I was told, "No, service will automatically be set up," it wasn't. The first time I called to figure out what the issue was, I called and was on the line for 20 minutes, and was hung up on. When I finally got a hold of someone that was willing and able to help me ( the 11th person), they let me know that they weren't able to send a tech out to install the service for another month.

Free Installation for the inconvenience
Employee's do not know how to resolve the issues and transfer you to someone else when they don't want to deal with the issue. Making you have to explain yourself multiple times.

While waiting for my two year contract to be finished, I moved to an area with free Internet. Yeah Google! I had to change my address for billing purposes which I later found out restarted my two year contract. When I called they said they put a note on my account and then I could call on my original two years was up and they would be no cancellation charge. I think they told me this is just so I'd stop bothering them. I called when my original contract was up and canceled. I confirmed there would be no charge. I week later I got an email for $170 cancellation. I called again and surprise there are no notes and nothing they could do. When I changed my address my two year contract started over . I didn't sign anything agreeing to this I'm not sure how they get away with this. I was a customer for over eight years. When I moved again I would've signed up with them but not now.

Stay clear of these criminals. I shut off my service (which was a HUGE pain in itself), paid my final bill, and due to a mistake on their representative's part, they charged me for another month of service that I didn't even use. I called to have this mistake removed from my closed account 3 different times, where they said it would be removed, and to let it go through a few payment cycles. The last straw was receiving a notice that they were sending the balance to collections if I didn't pay. Please stop giving your business to this company, they need to be shut down ASAP.

Nothing. Horrible experience from installation, to customer service, to service cancellation. CRIMINALS
Everything imaginable. STAY AWAY.

Century link is the worst internet ever. There customer service is terrible. They have slow speeds for too much money. They will keep raising your rates. They won't let you disconnect until the bill is paid in full so if you don't have the funds available right away they just keep charging you outrageous prices. How can anyone get a head if you won't let them.
