We have had the worst experience with CenturyLink, do not bundle anything
with them. When we moved they promised that they could give us internet at
our new location and that my internet and tv would be on hold and I
wouldn’t be charged until it was completed, well they came out three times
because in fact I cannot get their service at my new location. So when I
finally got my entire account disconnected they credited my account over
$300, even gave me a reference number and confirmed I was closed and had a
zero balance, this was on 11/28/16 on 12/21/16 I receive what they are saying
is my final bill of $336.84 I then called immediately and spoke to the
dispute team and they said that the credit was rejected because they already
paid direct tv when they all knew I had no services at all. I was then
transferred to the escalation team where they discussed with me that they
would be in touch with direct tv and if there was any other needed attention
on my part they would let me know. Here we are on 10/5/17 I’ve never heard
from anyone almost 10 months later so I assumed they finally got it resolved
until I was contacted that CenturyLink has put a collection on my credit! I
am almost 50 years old and have never had a collection. I’ve spent
countless hours talking to everyone as to why I wouldn’t be contacted to
let me know that in fact they were holding me responsible for the charges
which is bs! All corporate could say is I’m not sure why our financial dept
wouldn’t send anything out or call because even corporate agrees that
something should have went out. I told them that I was not paying for
something that they knew I didn’t have, every person that I have spoken to
just says you owe the money and that’s that. I try asking why would I be
credited with a reference number for someone to just overturn it, nobody can
answer me! This company is trying to get money out of a customer that they
are well aware thy don’t deserve. I’m so frustrated with them and would
never recommend them to anyone, I feel like they are just totally bullying me
into paying something that I shouldn’t have to!

So I moved into a new apartment and needed internet. The town we live in is
small so there weren’t very many options since not a lot of Internet
companies have their cables in all areas of the city. One of the choices
were Century link and we decided to settle for them because they had a $34.95
a month plan for 12 mbps (which is still crap) and it didn’t have a usage
limit. After talking to a representative on the phone I made it very clear
that I didn’t want to set up an Internet plan until I spoke to my wife
about it first. I just wanted information. So the overenthusiastic
representative (who the company seems to emphasize when enrolling people and
take their money) set up an account but failed to tell me he set up a time
for a tech to come even though I didn’t commit. So after hanging up with
him and speaking to my wife we officially agreed to go with century link. So
we called them and apparently they told us that we were already set up with
an account and had a date to have a technician come.

The fun stuff starts when the time comes for the technician to show up and
they lied about him showing up on the day that he was supposed to show up. So
after fighting tooth and nail to get him to show up when they said he was
going to show up The technician arrives and tells us that we can’t have 12
mbps, only 7.... and then he proceeded to install it anyway even though we
signed a contract for 12 Mb per second. And so we called Century link and
they said that we’re still gonna have to pay the same price for the 12 Mb
per second even though they swindled us. So now we are stuck with crappy
Internet over paying for it while century link costumer service all of a
sudden becomes useless and rude

They have a neat logo

I moved and waited a whole week for someone to install a modem, after they
never showed up I called again and they said the order was put in the
computer for a whole month away. So I asked for them to just send it and i
would install it myslef, and a whole two weeks went by when they said it
would take 2-3 days. DONT GO WITH CENTURY LINK.

This is horrible... I usually don't write reviews but I am sooo fed up with
these people.. was scheduled for service upgrade for 9/1 between 12 and 5.. I
waited till 2 and well THEY never showed up so I called and they stated they
cancelled it and rescheduled for the following week.. never got a phone call
left work early to be home for their convinient time frame.. AND THEN TO BE
RESCHEDULED again from the 8th to the 15th still. I even called on wed the
13th to confirm the spot for Friday the 15th and was reassured that it was
scheduled and they would be there this time.. NO call and NO show...
AGAIN..So here we are the 15th and never showed was told the techs are on OT
and had to reschedule for the 21st.. obviously I don't work so I can sit
around all day for them to come.. told them I have a job and I can't keep
leaving half days for them to NOT show up.. so now they state the next
available will be Oct 6th on a Friday so I can take another half day off work
to hopefully not be cancelled again.. and that was from a supervisor...
Obviously they don't have the understanding that we as the consumers provide
them with their paycheck??? And this hasn't happened just once.. this is the
5th time this has happened 3 times in 2 weeks with them and it started at the
beginning with instillation when they never showed or called.. I am over this
company but when you live on a farm out in the country and they are the only
provider that comes out here.. they have you by the balls and they know it so
they can say and treat you how ever they want bc they know in this day and
age with children in high school they know you need the convenience of
internet.

I was to receive my modem and service on 9/6/17. I called them a day before
to verify that that would be the day I would receive everything. I was told
that service would be started that day and that the modem was out for
delivery with UPS. On September 7th I spent over 2 hours trying to set up
the service. I was having no luck so I decided to call CenturyLink to get
some help. I was told that I was set up for service on the 7th instead of
the 6th. I told them that I had two letters stating it was to be the 6th and
that I took the day off on the 7th to set everything up. They patched me
through to the call center to see if the service tech could put me on the
list to be done next. She also said that someone contacted me and negotiated
the new date of September 7th. I told her that nobody called and I didn't
appreciate the fact that they lied. The only way for them to contact me was
through my cell phone therefore I checked my cell phone to make sure that I
did not receive a call from them and I did not. She said the tech should call
me around 10 minutes later to talk to me and see if he could get to me
sooner. It has now been over an hour and I have not heard from anybody. Is
this what I'm going to be dealing with with CenturyLink?

Only high speed for rural
Too many to mention , plus they would not let me talk to a supervisor.

Ok so when we received our Internet receiver I immediately called customer
service to self program our wifi. We had two phone conversations on different
occasions and both times they were not able to help use set up our box. So we
then called them a third time to have them send out a tech. Mind you my
husband and I are busy working full time everyday so we kindly asked the
scheduler to put in a not for the tech to come to our place at 4:30 PM or
after and to also give us a call when minutes away. We missed our first appt
because the tech came at 2:30 instead when we clearly stated that no one was
going to be home. We called customer service and tried setting up a second
appt and we asked what the time range was that the tech typically shows up.
The lady told me between 2:30-6:30pm so I'm like ok cool can you please put
in another note stating what the previous note said. Unfortunately we missed
our second appt as well. By this point my husband and I are livid. Because
not only did we miss two appts they sent us two bills on top of that. Silly
of us we have them a third try and the day I made this appt I left work an
hour early to just be at home for the tech that never showed up and never
called. I called the tech directly two hours later and said "Hey, we had an
appt today, did anyone ever show up." And he promptly said no one came to our
address at all and there was no phone call made to my husband or myself.
Their customer service is terrible and we instantly sent the wifi receiver
back to them and "cancelled" the service we technically never had. First time
customers with Century Link and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Cheap
Poor customer service, wifi receivers that don't work on most phone jacks, tech services close down early, and terrible business.

Worst service ever. Didn't even connect internet and decided to cancel, had
to pay over 100 dollars for no service connection. Basically paid 100 dollars
for them to ship me a box I didn't use. Don't ever sign up with them! Total
rip off! ZERO stars if I could.

This is by far the most awful service I have ever had. We apparently only get
12mbps in our area so we can't go any faster then that when promised fast
connection. I go to check my speed and apparently it is only going over a
little over 4 mbps when a speed test is done and that's if it even goes up to
that. Only can slightly work on device. All I ever see is buffering or
loading......... So angry because we have multiple devices and constantly
have to tell the kids and husband to turn their stuff of just so mine can
function right. Don't ever go with them I am paying over 60 bucks a months
for the worst service I could ever get. Which sadly is one of the only ones
out in my area I can even afford. Do yourself a favor save yourself the money
and don't go with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to give a star just to rate
but it is clearly a zero stars on everything. I almost feel like suing.

I am SO SO disappointed in CENTURY LINK service and marketing. I was lied to,
clearly lied to several times they clearly and emphatically said they were
installing fiber optics internet and that is not what they were installing,
it was DSL. This is just a blatant lie, it was not a misunderstanding it was
a down right lie. SHAME on CENTURY LINK. I have not EVER trolled anyone or
company but I will post this at ever site Century Link is listed on, so no
one else is taking advantage of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus, CenturyLink aims to help all of their customers save money by allowing them to bundle their services into one convenient package.
