CallCentric Reviews

CallCentric is an internet phone service provider that uses either your computer or a telephone adapter to place calls via the internet. CallCentric allows for free calls to other CallCentric customers and low-rate calls to traditional phones. CallCentric offers VoIP-based broadband phone services for both residential and business users. Their services include all of the essential features, free local numbers, and much more.

Consider the IP Freedom phone service. As long as you are calling another CallCentric customer, with the proper installed software (or an IP-adapted phone), the call is absolutely 100% free. The only downside is that you can’t call anyone on a landline.

What does CallCentric offer?

CallCentric has three different paid calling plans available. The first, Pay Per Call, is an extension of the IP Freedom calling plan. You simply credit a small amount to your account and you can call anywhere in world, at low VoIP rates. That’s it. You only pay for what you use. Calls within the CallCentric network are still free. The second and third plans are the North America Unlimited Plan and the World Select Plan. Both are for a low monthly fee and both offer unlimited calls: North America Unlimited to North America and World Select to 35 countries around the globe. All CallCentric’s plans (even IP Freedom) have wonderful features included, like voicemail, browser management, and more.

I was one of those ex-SR refugees looking for service and stumbled upon this one. Man, it was like a breath of fresh once I realized the customer service was as prompt they say they will be (and just as helpful). Everyone's experience will probably be different with them, but this is not really meant for beginners in the VoIP game. Anyway, LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

No contracts, great price, great quality, number porting, and most everything...check the website

I am a Sunrocket/Teleblend survivor who ended up with VoIP.com! Have added Callcentric as an 'extremely' low cost back up! I pay $1.95 per month and 1.5 cents/minute for incoming calls and 1.98 cents/minute for outgoing calls. On VoIP many incoming calls were missed or delayed!
I set up my VoIP account to forward ALL calls to my Callcentric number and haven’t missed any calls after that. I bought a Linksys PAP2 two line phone adapter and put VoIP on line one and Callcentric on line two. All of my two line phones now have both services, and I am using a Radio Shack two-line adapter for my cordless phones.
All incoming calls come in on my Callcentic service and outgoing calls go out on VoIP. Since VoIP charges a $40 cancellation fee, I plan to continue to try and make outgoing calls via VoIP until the end of my contract.
I was very happy with Callcentric until this past Tuesday and Wednesday! On Tuesday morning, for about two hours, I had trouble making and receiving calls and then again on Wednesday night, I received a long distance call where they said they finally reached me on their third try over several hours! Then I realized that on Tuesday morning, my phone number was being ported from VoIP to Callcentrics, and on Thursday, when I logged in to the Callcentric site—there was a large box with a statement apologizing for short outage on Wednesday while they were doing some maintenance work.
It is a great service!

Love their DASHBOARD and 'Call Treatments'

For low or moderate call usage CallCentric is an unparalleled highly cost-effective provider. Their customer service is by message exchanges within the account interface and I found the text-based approach provided access to consistently high expertise and relatively fast responses. The online instructions and documentation are thorough and professional. For DIY configuration of VoIP their account interface provided everything I needed to know. I like the fact that the user can provide their own compatible interface hardware to suit their needs. The process of line porting was well organized and progressed smoothly. Features are wonderful, especially for the low price. I do wish there was a more effective way to exclude the high volume of spam calls that are now typical, however the CallCentric "call treatment" filters and telemarketer block feature do divert a substantial proportion of unwanted call attempts. The sound quality has been very good. Reliability has been good, but I have experienced one dropped call in 2 months while no ISP service disruption at my location was indicated, so could not provide the top 5* rating for reliability.

The CallCentric service paradigm is well suited for those who like to configure and control their own VoIP hardware and account. Price point can be fine-tuned to exactly the services required. I cannot imagine a more flexible value proposition for VoIP than the service model that CallCentric provides.
A higher volume of unwanted spam call attempts has been experienced than at the same number which was ported from analog land-line service. Unwanted call rejection permits charges for incoming calls even when they fail to pass through the telemarketer block and even for rapid repeat calls. More severe blocking is available but risks rejecting legitimate calls. New spam numbers keep appearing faster than you can add offenders to the explicit blocking call treatments.

I have been with various VOIP providers for 4 years now and the only one which was reliable at a low cost went out of business (SUNROCKET). For 2 months now I subscribed and I setup the old gizmo from S/R to use with CALCENRIC and I am 100% satisfied. They have all the features I want, prompt reply from customer service to any trouble ticket which I opened online, and crisp clear connections. The test they offer on their website for free it is actually disappointing, but all the real calls work excellent!!! I strongly recommend this company. I want to mention that I am using only pay as you go service after I transferred my old number, and I pay only $1.95 monthly fee, but I expect that all other monthly plans are good just like this one.

They offer free softphone with 2 free downloads. The international rates which I am using are unbeatable.
The customer service is done via tickets opened online and therefore is a little delay, but they replied fast to me

After having constant trouble with my MagicJack phone and getting limited customer support to make it better I started a search to find a replacement. My primary concern was the cost, I wanted something super cheap because we don't use the home phone very much. I also wanted something that would allow me to block unwanted spam and telemarketing calls that MagicJack allowed (I sometimes suspect MJ sold my number because of the large number of unwanted calls I received). I purchased a used OBI-100 on Ebay to use as the adapter. It was super easy to configure and CallCentric was great about porting my number to them at no cost. Along the way I had several questions about the porting process and after that how to correctly configure my account to block the unwanted calls and allow my phone contacts to get directly through. Each time I contacted customer support (email only through their website) they were prompt, thorough and courteous with their reply. The amount of features offered and the ability to configure your account to accommodate your calling schedule is unbelievable. I was so impressed that I even wrote to customer service praising them with their efforts. I've often written reviews in the past of products or services that I was unhappy with but never one from a company that I would like to see succeed like CallCentric. If you're thinking about trying an internet phone company this is your best and least expensive alternative.

I've been using Callcentric for about 6 or 7 years. I have absolutely no issues with the company and their features are great and easily programable from their website. The only thing I wish they had is their own app. I have to use 3rd party software in my Android phone and I find it not reliable. I now have a Xiomi Redmi 8 and I manage to program the VOIP of the phone app. But, sometime sI check and I have to re-set it because it says " not connected" The rest, it's great!

Very easy to configure and change forwarding numbers. through their website. Rings in multiple phones even if they are in different parts of the world.

I've been a faithful Vonage customer for nearly 2 years, but with no innovation and the rates increasing with taxes, it was time for a change. I found Callcentric through various reviews and completely concur with most people's opinions. The customer support, although email only has been incredibly fast and always helpful. The pricing tiers are fair, although can be confusing to anyone new.

Highly recommended.
