CallCentric Reviews

CallCentric is an internet phone service provider that uses either your computer or a telephone adapter to place calls via the internet. CallCentric allows for free calls to other CallCentric customers and low-rate calls to traditional phones. CallCentric offers VoIP-based broadband phone services for both residential and business users. Their services include all of the essential features, free local numbers, and much more.

Consider the IP Freedom phone service. As long as you are calling another CallCentric customer, with the proper installed software (or an IP-adapted phone), the call is absolutely 100% free. The only downside is that you can’t call anyone on a landline.

What does CallCentric offer?

CallCentric has three different paid calling plans available. The first, Pay Per Call, is an extension of the IP Freedom calling plan. You simply credit a small amount to your account and you can call anywhere in world, at low VoIP rates. That’s it. You only pay for what you use. Calls within the CallCentric network are still free. The second and third plans are the North America Unlimited Plan and the World Select Plan. Both are for a low monthly fee and both offer unlimited calls: North America Unlimited to North America and World Select to 35 countries around the globe. All CallCentric’s plans (even IP Freedom) have wonderful features included, like voicemail, browser management, and more.

I rarely give 5 stars to anyone, but CallCentric earned them. We were using PhonePower (1 or 2 stars, arrgh!) and learned that our home phone had been ringing busy for over a week and important calls had not gotten through. After much hassle with PP, I found CallCentric and got a new number. Getting setup was easy and the online customer support was prompt, professional, extremely competent, and patient working with me on customizing my account. My original home number (for 20+ years) was ported from PhonePower to CallCentric with assistance from CC support. Here are the benefits to having "unbundled" services from Callcentric: #1: My configuration now is: calls to the orig number are forwarded to the new CC number. That is Inbound only, $1.95/month, not calling out on it. New number is both In and Out, a "normal" phone number. We also have a number used by an alarm system, Outbound only, saving more than $29/month with most Voip servcies. #2: CallCentric allows me to customize features that most Voip providers do not. We have a new CallerID of our choosing; SMS texts can go straight through, as expected, forwarded to a mobile, or emailed -- our choice. When calls come in, they are filtered to deal with spam and then there are special "Call Treatments". Calls from MY doctor's office rings on the home landline AND simultaneously on MY personal mobile. Calls from my wife's family can go straight to her mobile and even not ring on the home phones. There is an option for "hunting": if a phone doesn't answer, the call goes to a second number (mobile) or a third, ... And the caller does not know about the treatments. A call to our original number is answered (or sent to voicemail, etc.) and they do not know what phone we answer. Might be away from the house on a mobile, the caller does not know that. Get a DID number for a family member and customize call treatments for them. Bottom-line: CallCentric has the highest quality network I have ever experienced, superb technical support, excellent custom features, and unbundled services so I pay only for what I need. I am paying less than 1/5th of what I would (did, sigh) pay for the same three numbers at PhonePower, Verizon, and many others. Reviews from 10 years ago may read differently, but CallCentric is world-class these days.

high quality network, superb technical support, excellent custom features, and unbundled services so I pay only for what I need: A lot less than other Voip providers.
It would have been helpful to have an introduction/beginner document with an example setup of an Inbound, Outbound, and In&Out. Tech support cleared up my confusion.

I've read reviews here and decided to settle on callcentric as it was bring your own equipment, relatively low cost rates and ratings were relatively good. I have been using the service for almost 6 months and i give it 5 stars across the board, didn't experience any problems other than a few with my equipment but that was the fault of my hardware not the callcentric. Service works relatively well with my Linksys SPA2102 with fax and regular phone hooked up to it though you need to play around with fax settings a bit to get at right settings.

low prices, reliable, pay as you go
none really though it would help if they would certify some wifi phones that are known to work

Since signing up with Callcentric about three days ago I have been nothing but impressed. The support received via their website has been superlative with responses to my 'trouble tickets' being timely and right on target in the response and solution. The quality of the calls has been better than I had hoped for in a VOIP system over a home network. I am recommending the service to all my family, friends and associates.

Its the best i ever used. I have been using Vonage for more than a year now and was getting irritated mainly because of their cheap, low quality equipments. than i found CallCentric through reviews and I'm realy happy to say that I'm really impressed with their service, support and features. I'd recommend this highly.

Ive had Verizon;unreliable and costly, then I tried Sunrocket;out of business, and now with CallCentric i get EASY to use service, setup was a breeze, worked right out of the box! Support returns e-mail questions, and the pricing options are great!! This is the service to get HANDS DOWN. You can e-mail me directly if you have any questions.

I was one of those ex-SR refugees looking for service and stumbled upon this one. Man, it was like a breath of fresh once I realized the customer service was as prompt they say they will be (and just as helpful). Everyone's experience will probably be different with them, but this is not really meant for beginners in the VoIP game. Anyway, LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

No contracts, great price, great quality, number porting, and most everything...check the website

I am a Sunrocket/Teleblend survivor who ended up with VoIP.com! Have added Callcentric as an 'extremely' low cost back up! I pay $1.95 per month and 1.5 cents/minute for incoming calls and 1.98 cents/minute for outgoing calls. On VoIP many incoming calls were missed or delayed!
I set up my VoIP account to forward ALL calls to my Callcentric number and haven’t missed any calls after that. I bought a Linksys PAP2 two line phone adapter and put VoIP on line one and Callcentric on line two. All of my two line phones now have both services, and I am using a Radio Shack two-line adapter for my cordless phones.
All incoming calls come in on my Callcentic service and outgoing calls go out on VoIP. Since VoIP charges a $40 cancellation fee, I plan to continue to try and make outgoing calls via VoIP until the end of my contract.
I was very happy with Callcentric until this past Tuesday and Wednesday! On Tuesday morning, for about two hours, I had trouble making and receiving calls and then again on Wednesday night, I received a long distance call where they said they finally reached me on their third try over several hours! Then I realized that on Tuesday morning, my phone number was being ported from VoIP to Callcentrics, and on Thursday, when I logged in to the Callcentric site—there was a large box with a statement apologizing for short outage on Wednesday while they were doing some maintenance work.
It is a great service!

Love their DASHBOARD and 'Call Treatments'
Sure would like to have NAME with caller ID!
