I administer a medium size VOIP environment comprised of 1200+ Cisco phones, various gateways type and typical TDM circuits, naturally the idea of utilizing SIP trunking was always at the back of my mind however a lot of homework needed to be done to effectively introduce the new service into a well established business environment to provide the expected cost savings and maintain traditional voice quality. We did choose GlobalPhone after an extensive research and evaluating process of many of the available products in the market, six month or so after the implementation of the service and we can’t be any happier with the service. Excellent product.
I have been a GlobalPhone customer for about 6 months. Their service has worked easily and very well. During setup and configuration, they were easily accessible by phone and email for help and handled the configuration themselves based on our input. Their rates are competitive and easily understandable without hidden costs. They also coordinated transfering our phone numbers and any other issues we had. - Erik Pelton (Erik M. Was a Champion customer (they used Level 3 as their backbone) and life was good -- excellent actually. Nexboom took over, no more faxing, no more distinctive ring feature, no more good customer service, people complain to me that when they are ringing me the tone is disruptive, I have plenty of dropped calls now, level 1 tech support is awful, then sit in the que for level two tech support. From what I can disect, Nexboom has Nuvio provide their VoIP service, who contracts out to various backbone providers depending on circumstance. In summary I've put up with it long enough and am switching to Packet 8 as they use Level 3, Inc. for their backbone (like Champion did.)
I had service for years with Champion, no problems. Since the Nexboom switch, service quality is horrible, no fax either, and when I canceled service, they continued to charge me for months and finally, when they stopped, charged me a $19.99 disconnect fee after years of service. Please think hard before using nexboom.
