We've had Viatalk for more than 10 years and have noticed a degradation in service quality as well as an increase in fees that they say is recovery of taxes, but no other voip provider charges. Even if you choose their 2 year 'special', you still pay $40 in fees and an additional $5 monthly for fees. Rip off city! Plus, they are very difficult to quit.
I had this service for many years but as time passes and society moved away from "home" phone, I decided to discontinued the service sometimes in 2017. To be fair, up to that point Viatalk was decent. Price was affordable, reliability was fair and quality was acceptable. Customer service was slow when I asked to cancel. There was 1-2 weeks of back and forth before I thought I had cancelled the service. Fast forward to September of 2020 and I get the below from Viatalk: "While performing an internal audit it was discovered that your ViaTalk broadband phone account had never been completely terminated as we have not yet received our leased equipment. At this time we ask that our equipment be returned immediately." it took 3+ years for them to contact me asking for a piece of junk (Linksys PAP2 adapter) that's not even worth the cost of postage to send. They kindly offered to take $50 in exchange for me to keep the equipment. This just seems like a desperate move from a dying company trying to scrounge up any penny they could get their hands on to survive.
I heard about RingLeader through a ShoreTelForums.com promotional email. I typically skim and delete these kinds of things but I happened to need new SIP services at a newly acquired sister company. I attended a webinar surrounding their service and offerings and was impressed enough to take it to my boss right away. The demo process went great and we've been live on their services for a few months now. The service is solid and the customer service / tech support team are extremely knowledgeable, responsive and accommodating. Did I mention it's a native SIP solution for ShoreTel?! Really happy with the arrangement and hope for a long and prosperous relationship!
I switched my office to RingLeader, customer service has been excellent, fast resolution to the very small issues that arose while switching to VoIP, and excellent and fast response to any questions I had. I highly recommend RingLeader.
