The old saying "you GET what you pay for" is a clear indication of THIS company's pathetic track record in providing both an inferior product and a very distressing support (for the lack of a better word)! The company initially had a promising future, but with the worst customer service, lack of any sensible documentation, no phone support and problematic services, I don't see how this company still operates! Stay FAR from this company.

Pros Look far and wide, you'll probably need the Hubble Space Telescope from NASA to find something pro here.

Cons Price, Quality, Customer Service to name a few and most important for ANY product and service

Have used NetTalk for quite a while, every other month fighting the blinking red light issue and exceptionally poor NetTalk customer service. Have had 2 devices fail, taking 15-20 email with Customer Support to get them replaced only to 'lather, rinse repeat' due to poor product quality. I've since tossed the NetTalk hardware, replacing with OBI200 - 1 time $50, no monthly fee or recurring service fee like NetTalk. Same if not better dialing plan and it NEVER blinks due to inability to connect. Now have 3 OBI200's with zero issues. Before you waste your time and money, consider alternatives.

Pros seemed to work at first, until it didn't

Cons terrible customer support, failing hardware, expensive when compared to others

I purchased the nettalk duo @ my local Walmart in Arkansas on clearance (back
in June 2014), it came with 3 free months...
To make a long story short, I have had it now for 3 years & still works fine.
I have traveled to Argentina & was able to stay in connection with family &
friends from US. The only issue is if you bandwidth or internet service is
choppy, the phone call will be too.. But that is Not Nettalks fault...

I purchase in April 2017 the Wireless & so fare am satisfied with the
service... There are some dead areas, cause is powered by T-Mobile & in my
area is not that good...
Have read a lot of bad reviews & honestly don't understand hose sometimes
people express themselves that hard. The only bad thing I have to say is the
Customer Service thru the chat is a very long process, but like with you
Doctor, you are lucky to receive a response or a call back within a Month...
So that is all I can say about the company Nettalk, good product, but hard to
get in touch with them.

Pros Cheaper then competitors, free phone with wireless combo.

Cons Hard to get customer service via chat.

I would strongly recommend NOT to deal with this company ever, they have the
worst possible customer service, if you are lucky enough to find someone to
talk to, they charged my credit card without my authorization, I had all
kinds of problems with the devise, problem with call forwarding and so on.
My advise is to save your money and energy and do not deal with them, I
switched to Magic Jack and I am very happy I did.

Holy Smokes, this company is bad. Absolutely no way to call them. All service
is handled via a chat. But guess what, they will say they are escalating the
issue to some other area of the company and you never hear from them again.
I renewed my service, used 364 minutes and got cut off for over using my
unlimited service. They can not explain why this is the case. Instead they
escalated the issue (which means they just stop chatting with you). So now I
have no phone at all (except incoming calls which I assume are working).

Bottom line, anything else is better. This company is shady and treat their
customers like garbage. I can not imagine that it will be around much longer.

The CEO has to be one terrible human being.

Pros I guess a pro is that it is cheap. But since you are likely to get no service for your money, it makes it expensive.

Cons No customer service, no phone number to contact them (the phone number they have is a voice recording saying you have to use chat), dropped calls, service outages, and customer service reps (probably off shore somewhere) who are there to waste your time hoping you give up. Terrible, terrible company.

NetTalk Duo2, the Newest 2017 Version, is the worst piece of garbage
equipment you could get and be Ripped-Off at the same time.
Their installation is an excruciating exercise in futility and frustration.
They need to connect to your Cable Router and spend you time messing with its
settings which at the end don't accomplish anything.
They sent 3 replacement units, one was worse than another, service never
worked..
They then blamed it on my Modem & Router.
Their pricing is another major Rip-Off, as they pick certain phone numbers as
"Heavy Service" are numbers, so they charge you double for calls to those
numbers thereby depleting your "allowance".
They fail to tell you that the Monthly service you get with an account is
limited to so many minutes and get cut down by their Double Billing for the
High-Service areas, thereby forcing you to pay more money if you want to
continue using the service for the rest of the month.

After getting tired of the useless lousy service and the fee Rip-Offs:
1. I got a Magic Jack unit
2. Plugged it in
3. In minutes had a higher sound quality service than ever with NetTalk
4. Have no more Rip-Off attempts based on service areas.

The moral of the story is = Don't bother with these con-artists - rather get
a working service from Magic Jack and get back to business.

They say "Local and long-distance calls are free from within the US and
Canada and DUO-to-DUO calls are free worldwide. International rates are
competitive, and prepaid credits can be purchased to make international calls
for the basic plan." NO THEY ARE NOT. Net Talk now has some scheme
where they tell you that even if you have used less than your "1500" minute
limit they can still cut off your service and demand more money to Re-enable
your phone. Oh and that 1500 minute limit. There is no way for you to
monitor it unless you find some app/;program or use a stop watch for each
call. According to the representative, I used around 1280 minutes in one
month. Fine right? Wrong.. they now say that there are certain high cost
areas within your country and even your state, that will now cost you extra.
They can't go into your account and see when and where those calls were made,
but TRUST THEM, they were made and unless you pay them extra money, you can't
use your phone. but of course you can wait until your 1500 minute counter
resets NEXT MONTH and tart using your phone again. This is ripe for a class
action suite except you can bet NetTalk will not have the money to pay out
when they lose. At this point I don't even care. I would love to see them
go BK. as would many other unsatisfied customers. From calls that never go
through when you dial them to lost voice mail messages, to heavy static, and
now this blackmail=surcharges they won't last out the year. I would say
sell the stock short.. but LOL look at what it's done over the last few
years.. Crash and Burn Crash and Burn.. well sell it if you've got it,
because the just pissed off the wrong person

Don't buy this POS. Save your money. There are other options out there
better and at about the same cost if not cheaper. I've used other VoIP plug
in systems, and NetTalk has now become one of the worst out there.

Pros Cheap as long as your not going to actually make any calls each month.

Cons Lying customer service, Inept customer service they read from a script and have no idea of what they are talking about, so if it's an off script problem ( like when their system just screwed something up major, they won't tell you it's on their end, they make you reset your modems, reset your port forwarding, tell you you've exceeded an imaginary number etc etc. . You can never get your money back They SUCK. They Lie, and they ought to be prosecuted.

After very spotty service for past year I was on the fence about keeping
NetTalk. I was sick of noisy and dropped calls. I didn't renew and within a
couple of minutes of expiration I received an email from a friend that
NetTalk had forwarded my number to a XXX sex line.

I bought their "beta" device, so I wasn't expecting perfection.

There is NO direct customer service. You call their 800 number and it just
tells you to talk to them online. They don't even commit to responding
sooner than 24 hours. In my experience, I've now waited almost a whole week,
pinging them every day, and absolutely not a single peep from the rep, or any
indication that she has read the thread (even though it says she is "active
in the last 15 minutes"

No email or tracking details provided after payment was made, had to go
through their online help just to get confirmation that the device was on the
way. That was the final successful interaction with the representative.

Then I went through their website and attempted to port my previous number to
the new service. It accepted the order and took my $20 on my credit card.
Neither the default number nor the port appeared to work, and only half of
any outbound calls actually went through. I contacted customer service again
and was told "There has been an error, porting isn't available with the beta
service." Fine, but you didn't seem to mind taking my money for it. I asked
for a refund and was told one would be forthcoming. Of course that never
happened and I initiated a credit with my credit card company, which
hopefully will not be disputed.

I asked then to have the device reset to default mode so that I could just
use it with the newly-assigned number. CRICKETS. For a week now. No
response, no working phone service, no indication that anyone will be getting
back to me.

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY.

Pros Price, I guess? If it would have ever worked.

Cons ZERO reliable customer service.

I have so much frustration over this that i don't wanna say what i really
feel. Customer service???? there is none. only by live chat which takes
FOREVER for them to get back to u. there is no number. Cheaper price but for
the aggravation i rather stay put. BEWARE. don't join them. stay away!!!

If you have internet service with another provider then it is definitely a cost saver. I like having a landline phone but I don't use it much and I didn't want to pay a lot for it. This was a great alternative. The only problem is that the only way this it will work is if you already have internet service so that the phone could work off that service. It is also good that you could transfer your existing phone number to this line. When ordering , just be careful to wait until you get the confirmation back that the order is completed. It could be a potential problem if the internet takes a little to long to complete the order and you go back and resubmit. Then they will send you 2 units and charge for 2 lines. If that is done, make sure to cancel one. I still had to pay to have my unit returned but they cancelled the extra line immediately and I wasn't charged.

Pros Price, sound is good, can transfer existing phone # to the intelefone account, Whenever I tried calling I was able to reach a live person, when emailing support questions I got a response quickly

Cons Separate internet service is required for the phone to be used

I am the kind of person who is always looking for ways to save money. I use to have a cell phone service which i was paying $53/month and barely use during the day since i work in the morning. So i needed a house phone when i am at home with my daughter and came accross Intelafone and decided to give them a try. Great service, great sound and way cheaper than the other providers. I would definetely recommend.

definitely a good alternative to a house phone
and its free to the us and canada - which is something i really make use of

I really love this phone service and also the price is very convenient. I would recommended to everyone that need a home phone. I used to pay more and now I pay less and my service is better. So far I haven't had any problem with it, whenever I called for an assistance they answered my concern right away. Excellent service and great price!!

I have been very pleased with the service. In fact, I have replaced my phone service at my home with a second intelafone service. I have recomended the service to all my friends. Keep up the good work.

Pros Allows me to take my phone back and forth between my two homes and use it in either place. Phone quality is good. Have not had any dropped calls. You can port your old phone number to the new service, or request a new number. I had some defective equipment, the problem was identified by the intelafone service department, and new equipment was promply shipped to me.

Cons Occasionally the router has to be reset to get the phone to work. My phone stopped working, and it was almost a full day before I found out, and was able to correct the problem. Thankfully the built in answering machine collected the messages, but it would have been nice if the device had beeped or something to let me know the phone was not working properly. The only disadvantage I have found, is the inability to send and receive faxes.

I started with Ooma a number of years ago as my business phone service. The call quality and calling features couldn't be beat by my previous VOIP vendor - especially at the price. When I upgraded to Telo, I did so because of the additional features and HQ Voice technology. I couldn't be happier. I wholeheartedly recommend the Ooma Telo.

Cons FAX setup was a little odd initially, but it ended up being an issue with where the remote unit was placed.

Ooma has been great at allowing me to keep in touch during the pandemic. It consistently works when I need it and the sound quality is great.

Pros Ooma simply works and it saves me a lot of money each month.

Cons I wish Ooma had voice activated calling.

Historically, I’ve used MagicJack, Vonage, and Ooma, in that order. Each one of these is better than the last, but I’m not here to denigrate Ooma’s competition. Ooma just works, every time I need it. Obviously, the stability of the Internet connection is the biggest factor; I have AT&T 1G Fiber, which is fantastic. Ooma’s features are plentiful, but many of them require combinations of key presses to use, unless you have their Ooma-branded phones. The Ooma app is also great, and makes customization and remote access a snap.

I have been using Ooma for over 8 years and I have never had any issues. It works really well and easy to use. I really like the app and all of the features offered for such a low cost.

I had the Ooma Telo for several years with few issues. The only problems I've ever had were with call completion but over time the problem has been dramatically reduced so as not to be an issue. Call quality is excellent.

Pros Easy to set up. Easy to use. Very Reliable

Cons Customer Service is by email and can be slow to respond.

I am very pleased with the Ooma home telephone service. I previously was a customer of Frontier Communications for a land-line system. The Ooma system has proved to be much more reliable, has good sound quality and is much more cost effective than the Frontier line was.

Pros Good customer service. Ability to route calls to also ring in on a cell phone.

Cons Requires internet to stay up - this is not a con as long as your internet service is good.

I am enjoying my Ooma Telo for almost 2 years now. My son convinced me to get Ooma Telo and no regrets at all. The calls are crispy clear without any delay whatsoever! I am saving a lot of money as I get free long distance as well. I can go on the website and block unwanted calls too!

Pros Incoming and outgoing calls are very clear with no delay. Very affordable!

I used a Rebtel number in Dec, and reached to total strangers. I tried 3 times and got the same results, was charged for these malfunctioned phone calls. I promptly cancelled my Rebtel account, which still had $24 credit left. My account had two Master Cards in it – one of them was closed/cancelled, one was active/current. Rebtel began charging the current/active card in March, when I made the switch. However, my $24 credit was refunded to my already cancelled credit card, which I had no access to it. I went back & force with numerous Rebtel reps, they all repeated the same thing – too bad, we can’t help you, you got to work with your “bank,” as shown below: “Hi Aki, We love to assist your concerned but it's already beyond our control the best thing you can do is to contact your bank to resolve this matter. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Best Regards, Customer Team” If you are canceling a Rebtel account, make sure use up all credit – because, if you have multiple credit cards loaded in your account, you have no guarantee they will refund your credit to your most current card. Nobody at Rebtel bothers to check which card is the most recently used – if your refund was sent to your closed/cancelled credit card, all you will get is, “too bad! Good luck with your ‘bank’!!!” with their friendly customer reps. Ugh!

Pros Rate was good.

Cons Rebtel number reached to the stranger, got charged for the calls. Upon canceling the service, the credit was refunded to my already closed credit card, and reps provided no help.

I used Rebtel several months, service always was terrible, but saving money
on international calls was more important. And I wasn't able to find better
alternative. I tried several other apps but all of them was junk. Recently
friend of mine advised Yungo mobile app, I am using it already one month.
Everything is good with it, the rates are same and the quality is much much
better.

Pros I like the app design, interface is really good one

I was a loyal Rebtel user for the past few years (about 4 years) and Rebtel
has been a better choice for me. It is convenient and not more expensive than
other international call services out there and that is until the recent
price hike. It went from 19 cents(US) to 27 cents per minute. I have been
sticking around after their price changes in the past and the problem I had
with my mobile carrier third party application issue but this time, I am
leaving for good! A price hike like this is not acceptable and I will be
posting this on social media so that other Ethiopians stop using this
service. I know many people who are doing that already, thanks to free
internet calls! Are you kidding me. Why should we pay this much in 2016? Bye
Rebtel. I am cancelling my account as we speak. I will start by taking away
my credit card information from my profile and try other services for this
week. It is unfair!

Cons Expensive, issues with third party application if you are in the US and customer of tmobile.

I have been regularly using Rebtel over the last 6 years. Sometimes there
have been connection problems, but by and large it worked. Recently, Rebtel
did a major update of their website. This has dramatically deteriorated the
usability of the system. For multiple days, the local numbers were not
accessible, which means that if you don't have the numbers stored somewhere
else then the system is unusable, in spite of you having to pay for the
service during this time. Now the local numbers are accessible again. But
when adding new numbers, the system continuously complaints that there are
too many local numbers. In spite of deleting at least 10 numbers, the message
still does not go away. One needs to delete numbers through a specific
interface for the message to finally go. Overall, this new updated webpage is
vastly inferior to the last webpage. I have no idea why they decided to
destroy a functioning system. I will look for a different service now. This
is probably be the end of Rebtel.

Pros Similar service to other providers.

Cons Unusable user interface. Virtually non-existent assistance.

Unacceptable response on queries & Unlimited plans are real cheating. 
I have been using Rebtel India Unlimited Plans. I have my mom number as Local number so I use to call her a lot. But from last week I was not able to call her stating "You have crossed the monthly unique number you can call" 
I tried to reach customer (Worst thing they can be contacted only by email). My questions like 
1. When my monthly billing cycle starts and ends? - No response for this question after 4 emails 
2. What is the Unique limit for calling? No response for this question after 4 emails 
3. Why it is not quoted in anywhere? No response for this as well.
Only Response I got twice 
"You have exceeded the limit of unique phone numbers you can call this month. Please note that Rebtel's unlimited calling plans are meant for private, non-commercial purposes only. You may still call the numbers you have called up until now."
Worst and frustrating response.

I've been using Rebtel for little over a month now. The main reason for why I use this service is because my employer doesn't allow that I make international calls to my family in Germany from my work phone. With Rebtel these calls are instead counted as local calls and I only pay for a small minute fee for the international part of the calls to Rebtel directly. I also like this solution because it enables me to give my parents in Germany a local number that they can call me for free (well, it's actually I who then pay for their call to me). This is a really simple solution that they can use at any time without the need for any apps or smartphones (which would be way too complicated for them to use).
When it comes to call quality and reliability I have nothing at all to complain about, to use Rebtel is really just like making a normal local call, and the call quality is the same. The only drawback I can see is that more advanced users can't use stuff like video calling or IM/chat functions. (For me that is really not necessary, I just want a simple solution that saves me some money and enables me to call home from a "company phone")

I love rebtel. I spend between 20€-30€ every month, and don’t mind giving them my money, considering that I spent much more before I started using Rebtel. I use to call my friends in Europe for less than 0,01€/min, which is obviously much cheaper than rates from traditional operators. Besides, you get rewarded with their "Tell a friend" function. I recommended this service to some friends and got 50€ in Rebtel credits.

Pros Faster, easier to use, and much cheaper than prepaid calling cards and Skype. And you can use from your mobile!

Cons Never had a problem so far...

Extremely happy with Rebtel. One of the best Voip companies I have ever used. Great phone service and low cost. I use it for my phone service and it could not be better. They have the best, crystal-clear voice quality. Their customer service is so helpfull and always giving rapid answers. Prices are the best around and their plans are set up perfectly. I am extremely satisfied with my phone service from Rebtel..
Ow...almost forgot the app! Grab one! There is a iPhone, Android and Blackberry app.

Pros Easy to use, super cheap and can be used on multiplatforms (fixed and mobile phone, iPhone, Android and Blackberry). Best of all you save money.

Cons Some downtime here and there but it is a minor thing.

Would you recommend this provider to a friend? Yes
