I had Sagevone for around a year, and can't say much that is positive.I didn't have trouble with the uptime of the service but the call quality was constantly very , very, very poor, which made the service unusable. The voice quality itself was above average but parts of the conversation were lost, and this problem was constant and never solved.It was like dropping every other word, and it was just in one direction.
The people that I talked to could hear me just fine, but I couldn't understand their responses because of this problem of missing every other word of the conversation.
All VOIP tests run by them and me showed no problems with the connection over the Internet, with MOIP usually 4 or higher.
The technical support seems to revolve around one person, which may be the owner. All of my problems were blamed on my ISP by the support person.
After changing adapters, routers, cable modems, and switches several times, no problems were ever fixed.
Call quality was the poorest when talking to them.
They have a lot of features, a lot more than most, but if the service is always very poor, the features really don't matter.
Unreliable service and poor customer support
After six months and two VoIP adapters I have never had reliable service. Calls drop at random times, audio drops out for several seconds, the audio quality is bad and lately, when I get an outside call all I here is a busy signal. When people call me they hear a ring tone but my phones do not ring, or they get a message "All lines are busy." When I contacted the SageVone service people I made appointments to talk with technical experts that were never kept. In six months I have never talked to a technical person. Their service representative was rude and abusive and blamed everyone except himself for the problems. They kept blaming my broadband service even though I sent test data showing that there was no problem on this end (6.5Mb/s isn't enough?!?). They also told me that their service is incomatible with MacOS and Linux systems. Something that they do not advertise.
In my opinion, this is not a company to be trusted or patronized.
I have used SageVone for three months and have no complaint. They need to improve on support but other than that I am happy with the service

Not what promised
Promised free calls to international locations, however it was only *certain* cities. This was not disclosed on the website until recently. Even the information on this site (tucows), indicates that entire countries are free...beware, some listed here ARE NOT. Only certain cites are.
Sound quality when I first recieved the service was excellent. After I crossed the 30 day mark, quality went straight down hill. Customer service blamed my connection (funny, Vonage and other services have worked just fine).
This company will save you money... Prices are definately lower.. However the quality suffers... I guess that's part of the savings plan, you don't talk as long because people get tired of straining to hear you, and you get tired of straining to hear them.

I've had SageVone for a bit over 2 months. The sound quality is higher then excellent. The price for the most part is extremely resonable. But, since there is always a but, the features that were claimed on the site, aren't all available. It took a gazillion eons to get the adapter and phone number. I signed up to have a virtual number to use my fax so it would have its own ring. Waste of money. Fax machine doesn't pick up automatically. I have to pick it up on the main line, hit the start button and then hang up. I had to turn off the virtual attendent to be able to even do this, and I can't even send a fax, even though I was told when I signed up, every thing I could do with a regular phone, I could do with their service. And I can't run a credit card, even though I was told I could when I ordered their service. These services are imperitive for my business. They do offer a 30 day guarantee, but since I ordered their service and ran into issues, they have attempted to "help" fix the issues. Tech support is the guy who runs the company, I'm pretty sure of it and it may take him weeks to call you back. I was overcharged and they told me I would get a credit. I didn't. I was getting voice mails from all over everywhere, they had misconfigured the adapter...Took over 2 weeks to get that straightened out. And then, the wierdest thing I have found...if you call them...The quality is awful...They have to be using their own service, but the clarity of sound is rediculous. On every other call it is crystal clear, unless you call their customer service. Over all...I would recommend their service if you are looking for affordable quality in a residential phone setup. As far as for a business, to be honest, I am seriously looking at other options.
I used VOIPReview to find voip service and signed up with Sagevone.
I signed up for a) the price (better than average) and b) good reveiws relative to competition.
I am very happy. There were a few hiccups in the first day, but the support team got right on it and fixed my issues.
I have had smooth sailing ever since (service started in November.)
The service is clear and I nolonger have to worry about my 18 month old son dialing long distances!
Since I used this service (voipreview) to find my new phone company, I wanted to post in the hopes it helps others.

Review of Sagevone
I've used vonage before and decided to switch because of the better deals available. I had also experienced so flakiness with the call quality on vonage. So I switched to sagevone. They gave me a better deal with more unlimited calling areas and a better price, and I don't have any problems with call quality, in fact it's as good as a regular phone line. I was also able to keep my phone number from vonage which took 3 weeks. In the meantime I used a temp local number provided by sagevone for the interim.
