I've had voipyourlife since june '06 and I've also had caller id trouble pretty much the whole time despite attempts to have it fixed. Tech support is probably the best of any company I've ever dealt with though.
Lately I've been having issues with not receiving phone calls, and not being able to call a number a people. Still haven't gotten it fixed.

I love the people who work for this company. Their customer service is stellar, and their Voip service sounds as good as my land line. They have one deal breaking problem, however. They have a very poor implementation of caller ID. I was surprised to lose my caller ID by name feature when I converted to VoipYourLife; numbers only on caller ID are pretty much useless. In addition, the people I call are not getting proper caller ID information. They usually get a city and state name only. To make matters worse, I am identified by a city that is far from my actual location.
When caller ID is properly implemented and includes name information, I may come back to this company, but in the meantime, I am forced to find a new provider, and cannot in good conscience recommend this company to others. To be fair though, if you can live without caller ID, and you are willing to pay their price, you won't find a better Voip provider.

I hate to rain on everybody's parade here, but I couldn't get this puppy installed. After 3 hours of trying, and 3 calls to VoipYourLife Tech Support, I had a VOIP that almost worked (it couldn't receive calls).
Tech Support was friendly enough, but not too accurate in supplying IP addresses and port numbers. And since my system already has a router, they were reduced to pointing at my D-Link router and telling me to call D-Link.
So I returned it.

How many other carriers will this service no connect to? I received my VOIP device yesterday and tested the service calling my cell phone...it would pause for about 12 seconds (during which time my cell phone rang once and then hanged up) after the 12 second wait it started ringing....now things have changed...it still rings once, but now it give me a busy signal and won't connect. Every cingular number I've tried is doing the same thing...Will this be the case with other carriers? I had been using sunrocket with no problems (except horrible customerservice) I might be going back to them now...

Everything went well except it took 12 days for the phone adapter to reach me in Canada. Because of this, I lost a third of the month and when I complained, customer service reset my billing date to my phone activation date. You can't ask for more from service. Keep it up VYL!

I enthusiastically subscribed to this service and looked forward to getting rid of my regular phone service. However, I found this product difficult to implement, requiring customer service assistance. Once I got it working, it lasted about two days before going haywire. I decided this was no substitute for regular telephone service and decided if I couldn't replace my old phone, this product wasn't worth having.

Ordered up the VOIP stuff a couple of weeks ago. Intial price couldn't be better, everything you need for their service was free, and was shipped free. I started out at the $14.97 plan, becuase I'm not expecting to use more than 100-200 minutes a month of outgoing calls.
Started the port process immediately from my Comcast Digital Voice number. I was told I would receive an email when the port was complete. When I got my equipment, I decided to just wait until my number was ported successfully before hooking anything up. I just found out today from friends and relatives that my phone has not been working for about 5 days, so the number did port, but I did not receive the email as expected.
So, this morning I frantically tried to get the service going. I have a Comcast internet and digital phone box combo, plus a wireless router. Needless to say, I'm not so great with this stuff. I can follow specific directions, but when it doesn't work as planned, I have trouble. I couldn't get the system to work with the included directions, becuase I have a little more complicated stuff than what the directions were for. Tech support line as busy. I had also been double billed for my first month of service, so I called regular customer support. The several times I've spoken with them, they have been absolutely superb!
Customer support is elite. People actually answer the phone, and they are American and easy to understand (no outsourcing here). Polite, helpful, joking: Seriously, the best customer service I've seen in quite awhile. So, the few negatives I've experienced have been more than made up for with the great help.
When I mentioned to the CSR that tech support was busy after he credited my double billing, he gladly helped me with some tech support. After some simple, straightforward directions (for a technically challenged person like myslef), they helped me hook up their box, my old Comcast modem/phone box, and even my wireless router.
So far I'm also greatly impressed with the features available from the My Account section at their website. I'm definitely a website user, and even though their format is a little too simple and outdated looking, the services available online are great for me. You can see call history immediately, practically no delay. You can set all sorts of features online. My favorite is that I get an email anytime anyone leaves a message at my voicemail, and I can then actually listen to it right on my computer, through the email, or through the account history. I'm one of those that never checks my messages because my answering machine seems so archaic. Love listening online!
So far I've had no problems with quality in less than one day of using it. No static, no problems. I'll make sure to post if there's any sort of problem.
Moral of the story? Seriously, if you have any questions or concerns, call and find out what great customer service really is. I'm guessing they'll do anything to help you if it's at all possible!

After reading all of the reviews about different voip providers I went with Voip Your Life. Before signing up, I had some questions, so I sent an e-mail to customer service and received a response in about 2 hours. I placed my order on a Tuesday and received the adapter on Friday and it took less than 5 minutes to hook up. I am very pleased with the service, It sounds the same as my traditional phone and I have not had any problems with dropped calls, echo’s etc. I did call technical support about a caller id issue and they answered the phone in under 10 seconds and solved my problem.

When I first signed up with Voip Your Life my uniquely challenging T-1 system presented us with a few serious quirks to address and Tech Support patiently created viable solutions to every quirk. These challenges were caused by my system (not their system) and Tech Support patiently helped anyway.
On my 7th month with Voip Your Life I actually heard an echo - it was fixed immediately with one call to tech support.
On my 9th month my sound quality became a little broken up on one particular call - I rebooted the adapter and the problem was solved.
Not bad considering I've saved approximately $3274.00 on my phone bill in the last 9 months. ( I have 5 phone lines )
Call me and see for yourself. Just tell the receptionist that you would like to say, "Hi" to Steve Yager. As a Financial Consultant I may not have much time to talk, however I will do my best to answer as many questions as time will allow. I don't want anyone to go through the headaches I had with Vonage, Bright House, Comcast, VoicePulse, or NetVoce.
VOIP should be fun.
Faxing should be flawless.
Good service should be rewarded!
Talk with you soon,

I was tired of being on hold with Lingo customer service for 20 minutes and getting some guy in India to try and talk me through a call quality problem being generated on their equipment. (I'm a telecom technician...so I know the ropes.)
Time to move on.
I tested VoIP Your Life Technical support at 9:30 PM CST and got hold of Tim within 30 seconds...and he had a good ol' Midwestern accent.
I'm sold...I'll be buying in the morning. Oh...you also get a free SIP software connection too!!! Now I can call home from my PC and save my cell minutes.
