Speakeasy Reviews

Rest assured with SpeakEasy's VoIP service. SpeakEasy's unified communications solution (they are also a broadband Internet service) and business VoIP solutions will help catapult your business into the 21st century.

SpeakEasy offers several flexible VoIP calling plans. By far, SpeakEasy's most versatile and most popular VoIP calling plan is their EasyVoice Unlimited VoIP service. For $27.95 a month per user (with a three-year agreement; a shorter agreement and you'll pay more per user per month), you get 30+ standard calling features, including powerful and popular features like Find Me/Follow Me and Voice Mail to Email. Add-ons include powerful call center features, call conferencing functionality, and toll-free 1-800 numbers.Check SpeakEasy's website for additional details. All these features complement the best part of the EasyVoice Unlimited: unlimited calling in the United States and Canada.

If you need to call internationally, SpeakEasy also offers a unlimited international plan, EasyVoice Global. It allows for not only unlimited calls in the United States and Canada, but also free and unlimited calls to 22 countries around the globe. As with SpeakEasy's EasyVoice Unlimited service, you can call other international destinations for a competitive metered rate.

If you don't need unlimited calls, don't worry: SpeakEasy also has a variety of metered and minute pooling options available for customers that don't need as much call volume. EasyVoice Office, EasyVoice Local, and EasyVoice Dial Tone offer customers a variety of customizable, low-volume VoIP calling options. SpeakEasy also offers SIP trunking services, if you'd like to keep your current business phone system.

SpeakEasy also offers broadband internet and T1 connections for business clients, to support a completely unified communications experience. Because they offer broadband service in addition to VoIP service, SpeakEasy can offer a service-level agreement for both VoIP and broadband services. SpeakEasy? Sure. But you'll also sleep easy.

SpeakEasy, VoIP has been incredible for us; the quality of their customer service and the phone service has been nothing less than excellent.  Initially, it was  a little rocky thanks to SBC's equipment  but my connection to the VoIP and the internet is wonderful.  I've experienced almost no troubles with the line and everyone thinks it is so cool that it sounds so much like a regular phone.  Static IP, phone adaptor plug-in and play, disconnect internal wiring, plug phone cord into a splitter on phone jack and all jacks are live and working 100%.  Simple as that?!!!
There are several companies that provide VoIP Services to businesses and residential customers  but if I were to do it all over again, I would choose SpeakEasy without a doubt.

Cheaper than the local telephone company along with more features and excellent quality.
Caller ID showed up as an eastern time zone though no biggie....I have a watch/clock and am able to subtract one hour from the Caller ID to show my correct time zone.

Ever since VOIP became an option, I have been using the service.  I started out with Vonage but after a couple of years, I decided to switch my voip over to Speakeasy.net with whom I had my DSL (internet service provider).
Speakeasy has excellent Customer Service, solid pings and latency, and very little downtime over all of these years.
I must say, it is a breath of fresh air to call a company and have the CR Rep sound like they are thrilled with their job and truly want to be there and help you with any issues that you might have.  This is rare and for this alone, I give Speakeasy an all 5 star rating.

We were newbies to Voip and were a bit worried at first, but we felt we had to take the chance to save money. Our old NEC PBX was on it's last leg and we wanted more features that a modern system could offer. We are so happy we took the leap as we are saving lots of money and have a lot more features than we had with our old PBX. The best thing for us with Speakeasy is we were able to get rid of the PBX and go with hosted voip so we are no longer at the mercy of our PBX tech. Not only have we saved tons of money on the service, but the $2k per year that we were paying the PBX guy. We did have a few small wrinkles at installation, but since our old system stayed up until the new system was completely tested the transition was seamless.

My company, a local delivery service has been struggling with high fuel prices so we have had to cut costs everywhere we can without sacrificing service. With Speakeasy we found a way to save hundreds of dollars a month by switching from our traditional phone service while at the same time getting state of the art features. Installation was seamless and the savings are money in the bank to our company. Our staff like the features that allow them to work from home or the road and appear to our customers as though they are in the office.

Top-notch customer serviceI have used Speakeasy DSL for about 4-5 years at two different residences and signed on with their VoIP in mid-2005. So far I have no complaints; the service has great quality, a lot of useful features, unlimited long distance to a large number of countries (I have called China for free), and is reliable. At $24.95/mo I have no complaints about the price either. Typically I have only called Customer Service with DSL questions but on the couple occasions I've called about my VoIP the service was as great as I've always received. Their Customer Service strives to ensure that we deal with one person from start to finish, and their support ticket system integrates phone and web support to where either method of contact will append the ticket and be viewable online. They are thorough and address any questions or concerns I have much quicker than any other company I deal with. I have worked Customer Service for a large bank and now work with Customer Service at a local insurance company and I am very familiar with outstanding customer service (as well as a lack of it!), and Speakeasy is up there with the best in this regard.

* Free long-distance to several countries * Great call quality * Customer service is top-notch

Excellent Choice for BusinessWe recently switched from Verizon to SpeakEasy for our small law firm. What a wonderful product this is! For small businesses, it is a tremendous value. The call quality is comparable to a land line phone, and there are many more configurations available. The customer support is superb.

Great sound quality, excellent Webinars, customer support, and video training.
There are so many options that it takes time to learn the system.

BIG Cancellation PenaltyExcellent service, high quality, great technical support, but very pricey compared to the competition. As a previous reviewer stated, there is a hefty cancellation fee if you cancel or move before your service term is up. And they aren't exacly up front with this when you sign up, but it is buried in the fine print, so their legal end is covered. Their billing system is also very confusing (all web based, unless they've changed it in the last year). I switched from their standard DSL with a shared phone line (Verizon), to an exclusive Speakeasy DSL and IP phone system. They charged me the cancellation fee ($300) and then prorated the months with the previous service, then credited back the fee (over the course of several weeks). No one bothered to tell me what to expect, so when I looked at my bill I freaked. It all worked out, but I had no idea it was going to be that complex. Otherwise, they are very prompt and their technical service is informative to a fault (lots of email updates).
