Outage - Not Disappearance

I was in touch with them. They had a major data outage. First one ever to my knowledge. Website and service was knocked down, but they are aware of it and scrambling to get it back up. they hope to have it up in an hour. They had some reps on other message boards posting updates. Many VoIP providers have sporadic outages, this one is bad, but it seems to be the first I am aware of.

After using vonage, Packet8, ICH The best yet is Myphonecompany they have excellent prices great audio and no downtime! i can only wish them that they are doing a great job and please keep the server the way it is! its awsome.
i recommend this company to everyone!

Overall a solid contender. Great, responsive customer service and rates. One weak point - during conversations the audio would cut out for three seconds every two or three minutes. That becomes annoying because you have to ask the third party to repeat what they were saying. It may be my connection, although the service improved after the first month of use. Good rates, low monthly fee, good service, and a smart buy for a residential/soho consumer.

When calling in the wait time is excessive to talk to tech support.
They need more help
They have some fax compatibility issues they need to correct. Apparently you can not use a brother MFC machine, it won't keep a connection on there system.

Coming from Vonage after a miserable experience I find MPC really good. Yes there service hours are from 9-5 EST but they always speak clear english :) I really like their BYOD plan and am using it to connect to all kinds of cool SIP things out there. My number ported fine from Vonage (LNP is rare in our rate center among VOIP providers).

I have nine phone lins and for six months I've been working with this company to build a quality phone system.
My previous two voip providers gave me much more difficulty and I plan to work out my remaining chores with myphonecompany.
I find that if you meet them half-way they really come through. It takes patience to win the battle against the very high priced Bell system.

I've had My Phone Company for about 5 months now.
While I've been pleased with the customer response time & the price, I have NOT been impressed with the service itself.
Countess times the service has been completely down, or I cannot access my voicemail, or the other person hears an annoying echo, or I just can't dial out. It has been VERY frustrating at times.
Also, I would DEFINITELY not have VoIP as your only phone service. If you internet ever goes down or the power goes down, you have NO way of connecting to the outside world.

I have had this service for about a month and I requested my old phone number as my number. Well, weeks later, I still have a temporary number and I can never even find the customer service number to call them. I think they do a good job of hiding it. It takes several days to get a response to an e-mail and the message usually says that they have upgraded my software and I now just have to reboot the router and it will be fixed. Well, nothing improves. I still have a temporary number, and I can't find anyone to talk to. The phone works reasonably well, but the downside is that customer service in next to nonexistant. I'm not sure if I'll ever get my old phone number to ring here. If the price wasn't good, I'd have already dumped this company. I'm waiting to see if things improve, but I may go back to SWB just to get out of this wait-and-see game.

I have had service with MYPHONECOMPANY for 4.5 months. Support from there office is minimal. it took 3 months to get an 800 numberl. Sound quality is only minimal 1/2 the time I ususally get lots of echo or other noise.
Today 4/18/06 I don;t get anything, no dial tone, if you try to call in just a wierd noise. Web site is not up and although their 800 # is answered as soon as you xfer to customer service, billing, tech support or pre purchase support the line goes dead. I'm moving soon so if they get back up and working I will switch to another VOIP provider. Idea is great and pricing is 1/2 or more of The Cable Company or The Phone Company.

I have been with myphonecompany for one year. Have had only minor setbacks at times, which actually were addressed fairly rapidly by tech support over e-mail, never by phone (forget that.) Have never been impressed with their website (which is currently innaccessible) having had difficultiies with turning on/off call forwarding when traveling. Recently, for no reason, the phone swithces over to enhanced voice mail after only one ring and I cannot answer the phone when I'm standing right beside it. Ridiculous. I have the phone connected to a regular answering machine/system that I prefer, and in actuality, if I do not turn it off, it should never go to enhanced voice mail. But it does, and I end up missing messages if I am not using the computer. Sometimes it doesn't even ring before switching to enhanced voice mail, so people think I'm not home. Or they have been reporting that they were unable to get through at all. This last week, I have had the line go garbled then die while on extended conversation (whether or not this is the cable connection, or the phone company's fault, I'm unsure.) But this last 24 hours takes the cake. Obviously in Oct 2005 there was a similiar problem. I have no dial tone and zero service. It is not my cable connecton, router etc, and I cannot e-mail them either. I don't have the time to waste calling the 800 number. So I'm going to switch and am currently reviewing other providers. It's too bad, for until recently, I was fairly pleased with the service. I found it convenient to travel with the SPA, and have enjoyed a virtual number. Overall sound quality is ok, occasionally tinny, though most people do not notice any difference. Overall reliability has been actually quite good until recently, as has been customer service. I have no idea what's going on, and can only assume some major internal problem. But, I've had it now. Hope this helps.
