I used the system with the APP on my cell phone. Problem is that the quality of sound was so poor. Dropped calls, calls that didn't connect, etc. Although they do have a phone number for customer service, plan to spend half a day on hold. Also, if I was on a call on my cell phone, and a call came in on the MagicJack App, my phone call would be cut off. Not good! Further, DO NOT BY ADVANCE YEARS/SUBSCRIPTIONS. Although they do not tell you when you buy the extra years, they will not refund the subscription, even if the year has not started.
I am currently using the Magic-Jack Plus device. This device powers up by the 5 volts / 1 A adapter recommended by the manufacture. I noticed that when the voice static happened in back ground then I have to replace to the new power adapter and it will be fine. It seems to be the Magic-Jack device overheats causing the power adapter burned out quickly. I have replaced the new power adapters within the past few months and continuing to do the same in the future. So bad for the quality with this device. Also when using the Magic-Jack and the date and time setting up in my home phone are always in-corrected with my current region. I contacted the customer services and they can not resolve this issue because they are located in different state. They also don't have the direct contact email. I have to wait a way long in the telephone conversation with them when needed.
I am the owner, founder, and "master bit herder" for icci, LLC. After 25 years of supporting other providers PBX and VoIP installs for my customers, I decided to enter into the marketplace. We tried several VoIP providers while developing our product. When we came across Telnyx, we knew that if the product worked as advertised, we were all in and had found our preferred provider. Key features we were after from day one: • SRTP/TLS connectivity • Debug terminal with verbosity set high for SIP sessions • T.38 Passthrough • Low latency to AWS Ohio Zone (11-20ms avg) • Flexible trunk price model (dedicated trunks not required) We were surprised by: • Rate Desk Tariff Pricing • Regular API feature updates and new features • AWS VPC availability At one point 18 months ago, we had a doctor's office that was unable to dial specific numbers owned by Sprint... Telnyx support owned the problem from the get-go, which I was very impressed with. It did take several weeks to get the issue worked out, however, we have had no further issues like this. Telnyx works perfectly with Sangoma's PBXact & FreePBX. Supporting TLS/SRTP really helps get an "A" on our HIPAA evaluations!
