| ViaTalk | ViaTalk review: Still a bargain at $12.54 monthly 04/22/2011 - 02:11 | Customer Service is 100% based in the USA. Unlike many VOIP providers who simply resell, ViaTalk hosts much of it's own infrastructure. | Lots of features that mostly work, but ViaTalk's custom programming around some of the features such as the "2nd line free" feature leads to some strange behaviors when used in conjunction with other calling functions. | Like most providers, Viatalk charges the usual regulatory fees, here is the list for my account for one residence line on the $8.47 plan last month in Illinois: Regulatory Recovery Fee $1.97, E911 Cost Recovery Fee $0.48, Communications Service Tax $0.15, Telecommunications Infrastructure Maintenance Fee $0.01, State Universal Service Fund $0.01, P.U.C. Fee $0.00, FUSF (VoIP) $0.20, TRS (VoIP) $0.08, E911 $1.25 Which makes my total monthly fees $4.07, or 48% surcharge. Still a bargain at $12.54 monthly. |
