Inexpensive. The WORST customer service reps I have ever encountered. Stupid, obnoxious, unprofessional people who know how to copy-paste and virtually nothing else. If a company thinks having a rep chewing food and crackling wrappers is what should be on the front lines, well, God bless them.

Been using ViaTalk for two years now.  If you must have a home phone, VoIP is the way to go.  Just don't expect the same quality you had with your traditional land line, at least with this company.  I had a lot of issues early on, mainly with calls dropping out(think cell phone service circa 1998).  After that I had three or four days where my phone stopped ringing and people would go directly to voicemail.  I've also had intermittent periods where call quality has suffered - echoes on the line, words repeating back 1-2 seconds after you speak, more calls dropping.  If you can put up with that kind of stuff, fine.  ViaTalk is cheap enough for me to just deal with it.  I was with Sun Rocket before switching to ViaTalk and had similar issues.  You get what you pay for and I don't care to pay any more than this for a home phone I don't use all that often.
I don't bother calling ViaTalk support anymore whenever there is an issue because they simply have never been any help.  All I have ever received is the standard response to the effect of, "We are not aware of any issues..."  Blah, blah, blah.  You can read my comments under cons above.  I guess management at ViaTalk isn't aware this is an employers' market in the current economy.  They may want to monitor how their reps interact with customers more closely going forward.
When my current term expires I will likely try another vendor, they can't be any worse ... and I'm sure there will always be a cheaper deal out there.
