February 2010 update: We were unable to find a working website for Talk Times. The provider is probably out of business.

VelocityTel has some problems. They use an adapter, made by Grandstream, positioned between your router and your phones that I find highly unreliable. I have 3 lines. I can not be certain at any point that all three lines will be working, or even one. I just know that several times a day, an adapter will start flashing red, which means there is a problem. sometimes it will go for hours. Sometimes it will reset in a few minutes. The tech support people are always helpful, but the reliability sucks. I don't know with certanty that the adapter is the problem. I do know that I can swap out a problem adapter, and the problem disappears, for the moment.
The only thing that matters on a car lot is not missing a call. We put in the cordless system and every salesman carries one whether they are at their desk, in the service bay, or on the lot. We never miss calls sitting at desks.
We purchased a system for our company to replace an older NorTel system. We use a both desktop IP phones and the cordless handsets. Sound quality is much better our previous system and our outside sales persons are now able to use their iPhones to accept business calls. We also like the voice mail to email feature so that salespersons can get messages without having to call back in to check their mailboxes.
