Was a Champion customer (they used Level 3 as their backbone) and life was good -- excellent actually. Nexboom took over, no more faxing, no more distinctive ring feature, no more good customer service, people complain to me that when they are ringing me the tone is disruptive, I have plenty of dropped calls now, level 1 tech support is awful, then sit in the que for level two tech support. From what I can disect, Nexboom has Nuvio provide their VoIP service, who contracts out to various backbone providers depending on circumstance. In summary I've put up with it long enough and am switching to Packet 8 as they use Level 3, Inc. for their backbone (like Champion did.)
I had service for years with Champion, no problems. Since the Nexboom switch, service quality is horrible, no fax either, and when I canceled service, they continued to charge me for months and finally, when they stopped, charged me a $19.99 disconnect fee after years of service. Please think hard before using nexboom.
Great service, I would highly recommend it. I was a little worried when I changed over from landline service to VOIP, but IPComms has taken away any doubt I would have about VOIP calling. Check them out at http://ipcomms.net/
