For low or moderate call usage CallCentric is an unparalleled highly cost-effective provider. Their customer service is by message exchanges within the account interface and I found the text-based approach provided access to consistently high expertise and relatively fast responses. The online instructions and documentation are thorough and professional. For DIY configuration of VoIP their account interface provided everything I needed to know. I like the fact that the user can provide their own compatible interface hardware to suit their needs. The process of line porting was well organized and progressed smoothly. Features are wonderful, especially for the low price. I do wish there was a more effective way to exclude the high volume of spam calls that are now typical, however the CallCentric "call treatment" filters and telemarketer block feature do divert a substantial proportion of unwanted call attempts. The sound quality has been very good. Reliability has been good, but I have experienced one dropped call in 2 months while no ISP service disruption at my location was indicated, so could not provide the top 5* rating for reliability.
If you're not porting a number (and will therefore not have contact with their customer service), this is a pretty good service. However, the *instant* you need to open a trouble ticket, your life will be hell. Better yet -- the first time you need to open a ticket, just cancel your account.
