I own a small business and only need to occasionally send faxes. I didn't want to have to pay the phone company for a dedicated ring or line for a fax in our office even though fax machines themselves have come down in pricing to something extremely affordable! I found MyFax to be convenient and well priced. I initially signed up for the lowest plan of $10/month but realized that I wasn't sending or receiving faxes each and every month. I called MyFax and asked them if there was any other plan that would suit my needs. They offered me a $5 plan with up to 50 pages a month. I was really impressed with the way they were willing to work with me instead of losing me as a customer. I think MyFax is a great service- I really like how easy it is to create any file from PDF to jpg and send it anywhere. It is so simple having my own fax number and receiving faxes and confirmations directly into my email account without having to log into MyFax to check and see if I have any pending faxes. I highly recommend this company especially for individuals without a fax machine or small company's that do not use faxes on a regular basis.
Had a conversation with customer service in trying to set it up for the first time. Quick and professional! I am a new customer, using the ghome services. so far the quality seems great!!
The service works great (without even considering the low price which is a bonus). It's easy to register and they allow you to bring your adapter BUT DON'T. Only do it if you know how to configure a SIP ATA. They will give you the username/password to configure your adapter but there are other settings that they don't mention like nat settings etc. So, if you don't know what you are doing just buy the thing from them. It's not worth saving $20 to configure it yourself. I have tried multiple adapters like the Linksys PAP2 and even my Asterisk box. It works with all of them given you know how to set it up. However, I decided to try their own adapter too just because!!! It's a Grandstream HT 286 box (but one of my friend got a Linksys 1001 so I guess they work with different vendors). It was $50 to get it from them which is not far from eBay. (You can probably get one from eBay for 25-30 but you have to know what you are doing <- not recommended). The voice quality is very good and I have never had a disconnection. They also have an indicator (a gray/green light) on their website that shows if your device is online. Google transcribe your voicemails and set it to your email. This is pretty good as you are able to read your voicemails (as oppose to listening to them). Their features beat the hell out of vonage or phone.com(well to be fair they are using Google's features. Vonage and other guys can't compete with Google in their dreams).
