Axvoice: Great Customer Service, Potential Issues

Posted on: May 02, 2012
Pros
Axvoice has great customer service. Their online chat and email functions are answered almost immediately. Also, great bang for your buck.
Cons
Potential issues with call dependability and sound quality.

Axvoice has great customer service. Their prices in comparison to what they offer are great and their calls and voice quality are dependable.

The other issues that are noteworthy are those of its 15 day back guarantee which one has to pay the return shipping and it doesn't cover your BYOD (bring your own device).

Axvoice: Doing All Right?

Posted on: Feb 19, 2012
Pros
AxVoice offers one year payment plans to make life easier for those busy people on the go, like me. They claim it's $99 but it's $172.87 with taxes, fees & VoIP Adapter (ATA) plus another optional $15 to do a port over. This price is pretty good compared to most carriers considering they offer unlimited calling across US and Canada but high compared to MagicJack's cheap price. AxVoice offers busy call forwarding (hunt service) and caller ID but needs to provide more features like Broadvoice. Though whereas Broadvoice was down every 3 months for a week at a time, AxVoice has been running farely well for me for 5 months.
Cons
AxVoice is unable to admit fault when it comes to billing issues and therefore unable to resolve them. I sent them a notice regarding a $3.99 dispute which was CLEARLY THEIR ERROR and one would think they would credit the account or refund the charge but after multiple emails wasting their time (which cost them WAY MORE than the $3.99), they refused to credit the account. This will ultimately lead to their demise. I did appreciate that I received an email from them regarding "Their Billing Error" on a Sunday. Thanks for reading and Have a good day!

Today, 2-19-12, was my first major outage lasting a few hours. The failsafe (call forwarded) backup number also did not work as was specified by AxVoice web site. There is no telephone number to call for tech support OR for customer service. The LIVE HELP (Live Chat) is not live at all. One must leave a message and an email address. It's been 10 hours, no response yet though my service magically came back up. (no it wasn't on my end nor the ISP). Considering this is the first "known" outage, I guess I'm doing alright.

AxVoice down again

Well AxVoice has been having problems lately (3-17-2012). Over the past few weeks the line would ring on this end with NO caller ID and no one would be there when the phone was answered. Then the phone would ring seconds later with caller ID but again no one there. The calling party reported NO ringback tone and a simple click. I switched from my Sipura 2102 VoIP adapter back to the Grandstream adapter supplied by AxVoice and it appeared to be corrected.

Now on 3-17-2012 a call rings in with caller ID number and the Caller ID name states  ;_charset=UTF-8  but no audio when answered. The calling party receives ringback tone but also no audio, just a click.

Note: After using and testing over 12 different VoIP providers since 1999, I'm convinced that VoIP for inbound phone service and for business telephone use will never work correctly. The lack of inband timing is an inherent flaw that can never be overcome. Hence, until the current formatting techniques are abandoned and a new formatting scheme is developed, we will never have a quality even close to that of POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) via a copper pair of wires.

Sincerely,

The owner of a telecommunications company

Axvoice Review - Voip Provider

Posted on: May 03, 2010
Pros
Cons

I used to have a plan with them called Pay as You Go (Pay just for the calls you make). In order to use this plan, a deposit was required. I placed $20.00 in it. I used only $0.27 out of $20.00. When I canceled my account after a month, no one returned my deposit money back. I have made numerous attempts to get my money back but so far no luck. I sent e-mails and left messages on Axvoice tech-support (888-277-8647)and Axvoice Billing (212-933-9460) but so far I have not received a response from them. I also contacted Better Business Bureau and Federal Communications Commission and so far Axvoice doesn't respond even to them.

I really regret having business with them and do not recommend them to anyone. In order to avoid my mistake, stay away from the company and do not spend a single cent on their products and services.

Pros
Great sound, Reliability. The service is great until you get issues needed to be solved by Customer Service
Cons
The service is great until you get issues needed to be solved by Customer Service. AWFUL customer service. No phone contact at all. ALL communication is via email, which ,make it almost impossible to make your point across when the other on do not take time to read your email completely, and all you get are answered that are not even related to your request.

I have been with this company for years. Once, I neede customer service and I got someone completly rude. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS....but to avoid going to the hedached of switching VOIP companies, I decided to give Axvoice one more try. (Hey! maybe the person on teh other day was a very unhappy human and I was the lucky one having to deal with Him/Her)Well, I nned Customer Service again...a year later..Now I feel that is company is being run by some morin living in his mother's basement. What an awful expereinece!!!! They do not know they butt from their elbow! As I mentioon on the CONS: No phone contact at all (even though I requested a contact phone number already in 3 emails). ALL communication is via email, which ,make it almost impossible to make your point across when the other on do not take time to read your email completely, and all you get are answers  that are not even related to your request. I do not think whoever is assisting the customer is taking the time to read and make sure good quality service is provided.Today I had enough. I am a customer less Axvoice will have to deal with. And so is my best friend who just sign-up with them, and will cancel also to avoid these issues in the future.

I totally agree with Afrodita !

I have had the same nightmare Afrodita is talking about. As a prevention I changed my credit card number to avoid to be charged without authorization.

Would not recommend Axvoice

Pros

Price

Cons

Bad call quality and reliability.

Money back guarantee does NOT apply to the BYOD plan (Bring Your Own Device).  I had to pay even if I canceled the service after 2 days of use, the call quality and reliability was really bad at least half of the time.

Overall the quality is bad
