Nextiva Reviews

Nextiva has changed business phone service for good; Nextiva's phone service combines high-quality service with incredible technical support — and you can keep your arms and your legs. One of the best in the business today, Nextiva delivers powerful communications capability with simplicity and ease of use.

Nextiva has two basic phone plans: Connect and Nextiva Office. Both have multiple scalable options: as you increase your calling capabilites (for instance, expanding from 1,000 minutes a month to unlimited minutes) your monthly flat rate increases. But that’s it: there aren’t setup fees or contracts (that is, unless you want one; like most other VoIP providers, Nextiva offers a discount to encourage you to sign a contract).

No matter what plan you choose, Nextiva will load your plan with useful features. Even Connect 100 (100 minutes for $8.95 a month) offers 10 virtual extensions, along with cell phone integration, follow me features, advanced voicemail features and more. Plus, Nextiva offers a wide variety of helpful customer support options — including US-based support.

Nextiva also offers efax and SIP trunking service.

I signed up for nextiva near the beginning of October. My service is their unlimited 360 plan, I probably don't use even half of the features included although I do like how they're there. My cousin recommended nextiva, the company she's with uses it and she serves as the technical contact. I figured she's a techy so would know whats good and whats not. Her tip to use nextiva was a good one. Of all the features that come with this service ------ the most important one to me is the calls------. All the calls sound the way they should. I use their technical support whenver I have some questions as well as my cousin. I like the fact that my service can be used with an adapter that works with my cordless phone. I like to walk around with my phone, and the ip phone would probably be a nightmare for me. I'm fond of the fact that no contract is required with them. The concept of contracts should be the last thing I worry about and nowadays when I see one I feel like something unfair is going to happen. I've made some occasional calls to Belgium and they all sounded great. Each minute costs about 2 cents!! In the past I was scared to call outside of my area code, thankfully those days are gone. Based on my experience until now along with that of my cousin's company, nextiva is a good pick.

Support. No contract. Inexpensive. Setup was simple.

We went from an in-house solution to hosted voip with nextiva. The pbx worked great for the first 4 years but all of a sudden started acting up when we expanded our office. The idea of hiring an IT person just for our phone service did not make sense as we are quite technical people and hiring someone just for phone service seems foolish. The pbx was not the cheapest equipment in our office therefore we tried our best to make it work, we truly did. Rather than having a full-time IT person we hired a consultant for $160 an hour and he was a strong supporter of having us switch to another pbx provider. We were close to switching our in-house solution with "newer" devices but decided to back out after we saw our IT consultants bill.....He (I won't mention his name) wanted $3680 for not being able to fix anything. The last thing I or any of us at SimpleSites wanted was another nightmare with our pbx. This experience resulted in us going with a hosted provider, NEXTIVA.
We switched our service over to Nextiva quite easily. We purchased 9 Linksys SPA942 phones and before we even moved forward ran some voip quality tests in order to confirm our Internet network can handle the load. The network was and still is able to handle the load. I have not experienced any breaks in sound which was something we had a horrible time with when it came to our pbx. For some reason our automated attendant never sounded clear but with Nextiva it sounds the way it should. I am highly pleased with Nextiva probably becuase our last experience was not the best. Our expectations may have not been the highest, but even if they were I think Nextiva still would receive five stars.

I think its a big plus that my operated by two people is presented as a much larger corporation. Our phone service has a company directory and the features are not what the typical business receives from most phone companies. Nextiva gives us things we never thought we would get from our phone company without having to pay hundreds each month. Their support dept. is thorough and helpful. We use a linksys adapter for our two lines along with soft phones when we are out of the office and have not experienced any quality or uptime issues. The service with Nextiva has been quite basic, having the online control panel is an advantage.
I was worried that the quality was not going to be as good using an adapter but I was quite surprised. Im not sure if the great quality is unique to Nextiva, but I can hardly imagine the phone calls sounding better than they currently do. We are able to fully hear every conversation. The option of using an adapter allows us to use all types of phones and doesnt require us to spend money on ip phones so it's been great. Nextiva has our recommendation for service.

Choosing Nextiva as our phone provider was not an easy task it took lots of discussion with our management team as well as the sales associate working at Nextiva. At the end of the day we realized that heading into difficult economic times we need to critically evaluate all costs and although our phone service bill was not a top priority it was something we were interested in. We were hosting our own pbx system for ages and having it hosted elsewhere was not something we wanted to do until we realized that we no longer need an IT consultant for our phone service and that we can benefit from a new system.
The fact that Nextiva handles all aspects of the service is great and should have been the solution we went with from the start. Unfortunately the hosted pbx technology was probably not too popular years ago but today it looks like its the future. It at least is the future for our business. We will surely come back and write another review down the line to update our experience but as of now the service has been greater than expected. Cheers.

I am an IT consultant for companies in various industries. My office uses VoIP technology for phone service and I consistently recommend our clients to use VoIP. At first I was recommending a variety of phone companies, nowadays all my referrals go to Nextiva. The quality of their technology is great and I like how they include everything for one monthly price. My recommendations are heard and my reputation is on the line if I recommend a poor quality company. I have great confidence in Nextiva and continue to recommend their voice over IP service. The setup of their service is simple and does take a lot of work on my part or my clients. We order phones that are pre-configured by Nextiva and the online control panel is easy to navigate and utilize.
I have 14 clients that have switched to Nextiva and each one of them has been pleased with my recommendation. The clarity of calls is the best I've come across and the feature included for the low price is great. I am fond of the way they handle their partner relationships, it's a great feeling working with them.Mark Springmeyer

I confidently regard Nextiva as a superior service. I won't be looking at back all those years of wasted money for our POTS service. I've been considering using VoIP for our office for years but never made the switch for a few reasons: 1. We did not want to lose our phone number, which we've had since 1992.2. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Our service with AT&T wasn't broken but we were tired of spending $830/month for 7 phone lines. 3. Worried about the call quality and if the service works. This is coming from someone who has not had the best experience using Skype.4. Purchasing new phones.I will start with number 4 and move up. One of our reasons in switching to Voip was to save money and one of the last things we want to do is spend. But I was really impressed how Nextiva did not pressure us in buying their own phones and gave us the option of bringing our own IP phones. I did research and really liked the Linksys 942's so I shopped around a bit. We found some for pretty cheap on eBay but decided to use Nextiva because they configure the phones for us, which saves us some time in setting up. Number 3. I would regard this as one area of Nextiva's service that has impressed me to the point I am writing I review for them. The quality of each call is phenomenal. In no way can a person tell you are using Voip unless they see the IP phones in our office. The service was easy to setup after joining and the people in support were very kind when I called in asking for help getting the system functional the way we wanted. Number 2. AT&T was not broken at all, it was just too expensive. My entire bill with Nextiva is $232.19 each month and this includes everything. With AT&T if one of my employees were to call long distance I would get nervous. I've been using Nextiva since July and the billing has been clear and straightforward. If I were to use Nextiva for 3 months it would pay for one month's service with Nextiva and I'd even have money left over with Nextiva. Number 1. A few hours after we signed up, we received an email from Nextiva's porting department with information on how to port our number. I promptly sent them a fax with a copy of my last AT&T phone bill as well as a form they needed me to fill out. I was impressed that they emailed me that same day with a confirmation and my number seamlessly transferred to Nextiva two weeks later. My number is still with Nextiva, working properly and safe. The move to a VoIP provider for our office was not the hassle I initially pictured. As I've told some of my assosciates, it feels good to sever ties with AT&T and I've advised them to do the same.

Easiness to switch and quality.

I've read the reviews around here and people seem to be Nextiva fans for multiple reasons, for me the reason we switched to nextiva was the features. Price is important, particularly when we consider how tough it is to make money right now. It seems like every business I've encountered has been hit in some way.
Nextiva gives each of our employees their own control panel which is very important because most of the sales team works remotely. We are able to forward all calls to their home/cell phones using the call handling profiles feature and they've been very pleased. The voicemail to email feature is impressive (I'm not the biggest techy btw). A great thing about Nextiva is that we are always connected and our phone system has made us more efficient and the entire system is easy to manage. Nextiva costs us less than what we would have been paying with our local provider as well as most other voip companies. I called their sales department and spoke with a representative that was very helpful and knew what he was talking about. Customer service is something that far too many companies lack these days and its wonderful to see that Nextiva has a strong commitment to their users, this is what we try to achieve with our business as well. When customers are happy your business will succeed, it is tough to do well if you don't treat customers with care and treat each one as a priority. Comcast somehow does well without caring, which is a whole other issue.

I have been using Nexitva since September 08 and they have impressed me with their support and system as a whole. My service did not take long too setup, although the transferring of my number took about 2 weeks. They were very helpful in setting up my control panel and auto attendant. I like how each employee gets their own login in order to manage their account. This was a feature that was not included with my previous provider. I get to manage the entire company's phone system, while each employee gets a login of their own.
Their entire system is quite advanced, in the sense that it can do lots for a business. But it did not take too much time to get a hang of it. The call profiles section that enables us to forward calls to multiple phones is great. We also use the hunt group for our sales and support team. I can confidently recommend their service to anyone looking for a phone provider. Based on the price and what we get in return, Nextiva is above average.

I am the owner of a dry cleaners and was a customer of AT&T for phone service since 1998. I decided to swith providers after hearing such great things about voip, especially that its the "future". I read reviews as well as spoke to a few voip companies, and made the decision to go with nextiva. My favorite feature right now has to be the auto attendant. Nextiva recorded the greeting for me (for free) and it sounds great. I have a weekly specials section within the recording, which hopefully helps business. My business has been hit by the current times - regular customers are not as regular as they once were - but the money I have saved by coming to Nextiva has helped in a great way. My dream is that I can continue to make similar moves with my other expenses and for everything to work out the way it did with nextiva. The setup/signup process was easy. I bought two phones and got everything running in 3 days. I'm still getting a hang of their control panel and what their service can do for my cleaners, but so far so good.

Auto attendant. Free long distance.

I have never used a business phone company, mainly because I am operating my own business for the first time in my life. I have had lots of experience with the big phone companies, Verizon, TimeWarner, ATT, etc. My business has no outside funding and my goal is to keep expenses to a minimum. I am achieving this with Nextiva when it comes to phone service. At first most of the voip companies I came across were not familiar and I was quite hesitant to give any of them my business, but after the positive reviews and speaking to most of these providers my choice came down to Nextiva. The sales associate was helpful and made sure Nextiva's service was able to support what I am looking for.
The most important thing for me is the auto-attendant. I don't want to answer every call and don't have the time or money. So I like how it is able to provide my customers with basic information like my hours, location, and specials. Setting it up was easy and I used my son to do the recording of the messages. I have not been a user for too long, yet for some reason I am confident nextiva was a good selection for my business and feel like my phone system is making a difference for my business. Best of all (well almost) is that the service is well worth the price.
