Steer Clear of Ring Central

Posted on: May 17, 2012
Pros
Well if there's one thing I'll give Ring Central, it's the ease at which they will accept your money and charge your card.
Cons
Customer Service... That's an Oxy-moron at Ring Central.

The company is a joke.  Customer Service rates right up there with, well, getting your teeth pulled.  I bought my own Cisco 303 phones from another vendor since the Ring Central phones of the same model were overpriced.  The phones themselves were easy to setup but then I found a 20 second dial in time on one extension.  After 3.5 hours on the phone and 3 phone calls later, the issue was supposedly transferred to Level 3 engineering which appears to be an endless black hole of nothingness..  Once I called back to get a status update, I was told it was "being worked on."  This was after a promise from the Customer Service Rep that he would call me back to make sure it was fixed the next day (he did not).

The second issue was trying to record a new greeting.  I paid someone to record the greeting, went through all the steps, saved the message on 3 separate prompts and low and behold, the message did not save.  Tried another message, same thing.  Tried 2 more times, same thing.  After another 2 hours on the phone, still no help.  I asked to have someone from level 2 call me back, was told "no can do" just call us when you are available to resolve.

So bottom line, if you have money to burn, a week free and low blood pressure to use, go ahead and sign up for Ring Central.  Me...  I'm finding a vendor that actually has CUSTOMER SERVICE.

RingCentral: Sacrificing Service for Dollars

Posted on: May 10, 2012
Pros
Price, customizability, ease of use - it has a number of alluring features. BUT....
Cons
Lack of support, long wait times, and not enough information about issues. If you feel like waiting on hold for hours ... this is the company for you!

Their customer service SUCKS - I am currently on hold and have been trying to get though for the last hour.  This is not the first time I have experienced this and I'm sure it will not be the last.  The system is not working - and we can't return clients phone calls...I am currently losing business...$$$$...going down the drain!  So I am asking myself why not spend the extra money and get something reliable with customer support to back it up.  I hate to say it but they have changed as a company - and have started sacrificing service for dollars.  It's a real shame because I have recommended them to people in the past and now can no longer do so in good conscience. (Their service and promotions that 'lock you in' parallel the worst of the cell phone providers - Buyer be warned!!!)

RingCentral: What a nightmare

Posted on: Apr 26, 2012
Pros
none
Cons
terrible customer service, lousy web interface/sign up

I set up my account over the phone. I started at 10:30am and by 3pm after multiple calls was still not able to log in to the website. About the 4th or 5th time I called customer service and the guy on the phone couldn't find my acct. Finally after spending a bunch of time with him (is he new?) he looked it up by my email address. However, the acct was listed in my name, not our company name, which was spelled incorrectly on the documents they wanted me to sign (even though my name and company name are on the numerous emails I sent). I called customer service one last time and tried to cancel. I was told I had to speak to my acct rep to cancel. I was put thru to his voice mail. I told him to cancel our acct. I followed up with an email telling him to cancel the acct and giving him all the reasons. I got a reply from him - he wanted to talk to me. I replied back to cancel the acct. I got 2 emails the following weeks and replied back to cancel our acct. When I got the credit card statement there was no refund of the charge. emailed my acct rep again and he replied saying my acct was not canceled and to call customer service to cancel the acct. I called after being on hold for 5mins and they told me they can't cancel my acct - only an acct rep can do that. I was only hold again and finally got a different rep who didn't want to cancel my acct, and wanted to hear about why I was canceling, is there anything we can do, etc. etc. Finally she canceled it. What a nightmare!

RingCentral: You get what you pay for

Posted on: Mar 22, 2012
Pros
Very cheap.
Cons
You get what you pay for. I highly encourage all prospective users to check out YELP.com for truthful comments.

Phone service was acceptable over the 9 months as a RingCentral client.  We did occasionally experience issues that came and went without explanation however it was not serious enough to consider making a change.  Lately the fax service quit working completely and repeated calls to RingCentral's customer service department were met with annoyingly long hold times and ultimately a nonsensical circular answer in each attempt to get the problem fixed.  None of the customer service agents would transfer me to a manager, and all refused to provide anything other than their first names.

I highly recommend using another service provider as we are in the process of closing our account.

RingCentral: Clients Are Delighted

Posted on: Mar 04, 2012
Pros
Cost, can retrieve messages from the phone and computer. Also fast service via mobile phone and email.
Cons
Weekend evenng calls to customer servce takes longer.

As a director of a nonprofit business that is fast paced and requires me to be in the community, Ring Central has proven to be the best office companion.  My calls are answered online and by calling in from my mobile phone.  I am happy with Ring Central customer service and my clients are delighted with the method of sending messages to me without delay.  In addition, I am pleased to receive positive and speedy support when needed from Ring Central staff. In comparison to traditional methods of relaying messages, Ring Central is the most economical and quaility method of service.

RingCentral: Options Are Limitless

Posted on: Mar 02, 2012
Pros
Knowledgable staff; easy of use.
Cons
Little confusing for first-time users

I highly recomment RingCentral.  The options are limitless with the way you can set up your answering preferences, etc.  No matter if you are a small or large business, the setup provides the ability to handle calls very professionall.  The RingCentral staff will take the time to walk you through any issues you may have so you understand to make changes on your own going forward.  If you have an unexpected interruption in your computer network, you will loose the ability to use any desktop phones.  However, you can still use the RingCentral app on your smartphone to carry on business calls as usual.  I love the ability to be out of the office but continue to send and recieve calls as though I'm sitting at my desk.

RingCentral: Full Featured System Yet Easy to Use and Support

Posted on: Feb 21, 2012
Pros
• Very good phone system capabilities, with many configurable options
• Virtual fax service included with every office user line
• Sends voice mails to the user’s email account (configurable)
• Great options for high quality phones, especially the Polycom’s
• Excellent customer support – have used it several times
• Easy to understand web-based Administrative Control Panel
Cons
• Wish they would release an upgrade to the Call Controller
• Sometimes need to work with a new router to get it to work well
• Wish they sold headsets too

I’ve been using different RingCentral services for about 2 years now. I’ve personally set up about 30 phones (22 Polycoms and 8 Cisco headsets). The setup is straightforward, and the sound quality of the Polycom and Cisco phones is very good, though I personally prefer the Polycom sound quality.

I've had a few minor configuration questions and whenever I contacted Ring Central Tech Support, they've assisted me in solving the problem. They are a professional organization.

I’ve evaluated many different VoIP phone systems, and have personally used six different hosted systems over the past few years. I like RingCentral the best.

RingCentral: Invaluable for Networked Offices

Posted on: Feb 14, 2012
Pros
Easy to set up, flexible options, increases office mobility
Cons

We've been using Ring Central and Right Fax for a couple of years and have found it invaluable for our networked offices that include commercial spaces and home offices.  The few times I have had issues or questions, I was able to speak with a helpful rep immediately and issue/question was resolved.  I believe I even used a chat option, which was also convenient.

RingCentral: A Big Help

Posted on: Feb 13, 2012
Pros
being able to manage virtual office.
Ability to receive fax via email
Being able to route calls to the appropriate person no matter where they are located
Cons
So far I haven't encountered any.

The phone system has been a big help managing our incoming calls. I work in a small but busy office and receive more than 500 calls a month. A large number of calls can be handled by with automated responses (i.e. what are you office hours?, where are you located?). This system has worked well for handling these calls.  The staff is a mobile staff, being able to forward calls to staff memeber's personal phone without giving out the number is GREAT!!!

I am still learning the full functionality of system. So far I really like.

RingCentral: Customize Features

Posted on: Feb 08, 2012
Pros
Multiple extensions; many features allow you to customize it; sending/receiving faxes really easy either through the online portal or via your own email; really helpful customer service; excellent price; clear messages; notification options
Cons

Our business uses Ring Central since we don't have a central office, but work from different locations.  Ring Central allows us to provide excellent customer service since we can set up the call forwarding to reach us wherever we happen to be.  The features are really helpful such as programming different extensions with different notification options, ring options, forwarding rules, etc.  We also love that you can send and receive faxes directly to/from the 800# or you can set up a free local fax #.

Re: customer service - we had some questions when we were setting up the fax settings and customer service couldn't have been more knowledgeable or courteous.  They answered all our questions.

We would recommend Ring Central to any business!
