Vopium on Iphone

Vopium recently launched voip application for Iphone. Unlike other voip application like Skype(and SkypeOut) and Fring, Vopium is geared toward user oriented features where user can cuts cost on voip calls. Fring and Skype are more of an Instant Messenger with extended function of voip. But, Vopium is a different breed.

How different would it be?
The three distincts features are:

• SMS Supports
• Country detection of country you are in
• Make GSM based calls in absence of WiFi

Vopium works like a calling card that you download to your IPhone. When WiFi is available, you make don't get charged for the air time. With this said, Vopium works more like and extension of your iphone. You will be able to enjoy low cost international calls with your existing carrier. You just have to pay the airtime minute of your existing carrier.

Eventhough they are in their baby stage of the development on this new technology, Vopium service are available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain and Sweden. The guys at vopium revelead that they are beta testing this software in Australia, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Switzerland, UK and US.
