If you have internet service with another provider then it is definitely a cost saver. I like having a landline phone but I don't use it much and I didn't want to pay a lot for it. This was a great alternative. The only problem is that the only way this it will work is if you already have internet service so that the phone could work off that service. It is also good that you could transfer your existing phone number to this line. When ordering , just be careful to wait until you get the confirmation back that the order is completed. It could be a potential problem if the internet takes a little to long to complete the order and you go back and resubmit. Then they will send you 2 units and charge for 2 lines. If that is done, make sure to cancel one. I still had to pay to have my unit returned but they cancelled the extra line immediately and I wasn't charged.

Price, sound is good, can transfer existing phone # to the intelefone account, Whenever I tried calling I was able to reach a live person, when emailing support questions I got a response quickly

I am the kind of person who is always looking for ways to save money. I use to have a cell phone service which i was paying $53/month and barely use during the day since i work in the morning. So i needed a house phone when i am at home with my daughter and came accross Intelafone and decided to give them a try. Great service, great sound and way cheaper than the other providers. I would definetely recommend.

So far I haven't had any problem with it, whenever I called for an assistance they answered my concern right away. Excellent service and great price!!

I have been very pleased with the service. In fact, I have replaced my phone service at my home with a second intelafone service. I have recomended the service to all my friends. Keep up the good work.

Allows me to take my phone back and forth between my two homes and use it in either place. Phone quality is good. Have not had any dropped calls. You can port your old phone number to the new service, or request a new number. I had some defective equipment, the problem was identified by the intelafone service department, and new equipment was promply shipped to me.
Occasionally the router has to be reset to get the phone to work. My phone stopped working, and it was almost a full day before I found out, and was able to correct the problem. Thankfully the built in answering machine collected the messages, but it would have been nice if the device had beeped or something to let me know the phone was not working properly. The only disadvantage I have found, is the inability to send and receive faxes.

        • Rebtel is starting a revolution.

A venture capital-funded start-up, Rebtel began in 2006 with the goal of 'taking the phony out of mobile telephony.' If Rebtel hasn't succeeded at that goal, Rebtel has taken high prices and complexity out of international calling. Compared to traditional carriers, Rebtel can save you up to 95% on international calls. And Rebtel's really easy to use, too.

          How Rebtel Works

Rebtel works like the international calling cards of the past - but Rebtel is much more efficient.

I used a Rebtel number in Dec, and reached to total strangers. I tried 3 times and got the same results, was charged for these malfunctioned phone calls. I promptly cancelled my Rebtel account, which still had $24 credit left. My account had two Master Cards in it – one of them was closed/cancelled, one was active/current. Rebtel began charging the current/active card in March, when I made the switch. However, my $24 credit was refunded to my already cancelled credit card, which I had no access to it. I went back & force with numerous Rebtel reps, they all repeated the same thing – too bad, we can’t help you, you got to work with your “bank,” as shown below: “Hi Aki, We love to assist your concerned but it's already beyond our control the best thing you can do is to contact your bank to resolve this matter. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Best Regards, Customer Team” If you are canceling a Rebtel account, make sure use up all credit – because, if you have multiple credit cards loaded in your account, you have no guarantee they will refund your credit to your most current card. Nobody at Rebtel bothers to check which card is the most recently used – if your refund was sent to your closed/cancelled credit card, all you will get is, “too bad! Good luck with your ‘bank’!!!” with their friendly customer reps. Ugh!

          Rate was good.

I was a loyal Rebtel user for the past few years (about 4 years) and Rebtel
has been a better choice for me. It is convenient and not more expensive than
other international call services out there and that is until the recent
price hike. It went from 19 cents(US) to 27 cents per minute. I have been
sticking around after their price changes in the past and the problem I had
with my mobile carrier third party application issue but this time, I am
leaving for good! A price hike like this is not acceptable and I will be
posting this on social media so that other Ethiopians stop using this
service. I know many people who are doing that already, thanks to free
internet calls! Are you kidding me. Why should we pay this much in 2016? Bye
Rebtel. I am cancelling my account as we speak. I will start by taking away
my credit card information from my profile and try other services for this
          week. It is unfair!

          Easy to use
Expensive, issues with third party application if you are in the US and customer of tmobile.

I have been regularly using Rebtel over the last 6 years. Sometimes there
have been connection problems, but by and large it worked. Recently, Rebtel
did a major update of their website. This has dramatically deteriorated the
usability of the system. For multiple days, the local numbers were not
accessible, which means that if you don't have the numbers stored somewhere
else then the system is unusable, in spite of you having to pay for the
service during this time. Now the local numbers are accessible again. But
when adding new numbers, the system continuously complaints that there are
too many local numbers. In spite of deleting at least 10 numbers, the message
still does not go away. One needs to delete numbers through a specific
interface for the message to finally go. Overall, this new updated webpage is
vastly inferior to the last webpage. I have no idea why they decided to
destroy a functioning system. I will look for a different service now. This
is probably be the end of Rebtel.

          Similar service to other providers.
Unusable user interface. Virtually non-existent assistance.

I have been using Rebtel India Unlimited Plans. I have my mom number as Local number so I use to call her a lot. But from last week I was not able to call her stating "You have crossed the monthly unique number you can call"<br />
I tried to reach customer (Worst thing they can be contacted only by email). My questions like<br />
          1. When my monthly billing cycle starts and ends? - No response for this question after 4 emails<br />
          2. What is the Unique limit for calling? No response for this question after 4 emails<br />
          3. Why it is not quoted in anywhere? No response for this as well.
          Only Response I got twice<br />
"You have exceeded the limit of unique phone numbers you can call this month. Please note that Rebtel's unlimited calling plans are meant for private, non-commercial purposes only. You may still call the numbers you have called up until now."
          Worst and frustrating response.

I've been using Rebtel for little over a month now. The main reason for why I use this service is because my employer doesn't allow that I make international calls to my family in Germany from my work phone. With Rebtel these calls are instead counted as local calls and I only pay for a small minute fee for the international part of the calls to Rebtel directly. I also like this solution because it enables me to give my parents in Germany a local number that they can call me for free (well, it's actually I who then pay for their call to me). This is a really simple solution that they can use at any time without the need for any apps or smartphones (which would be way too complicated for them to use).
When it comes to call quality and reliability I have nothing at all to complain about, to use Rebtel is really just like making a normal local call, and the call quality is the same. The only drawback I can see is that more advanced users can't use stuff like video calling or IM/chat functions. (For me that is really not necessary, I just want a simple solution that saves me some money and enables me to call home from a "company phone")

Excellent value for money Good sound quality Easy to use
Lack IM messaging, Video chat etc.

I love rebtel. I spend between 20€-30€ every month, and don’t mind giving them my money, considering that I spent much more before I started using Rebtel. I use to call my friends in Europe for less than 0,01€/min, which is obviously much cheaper than rates from traditional operators. Besides, you get rewarded with their "Tell a friend" function. I recommended this service to some friends and got 50€ in Rebtel credits.

Faster, easier to use, and much cheaper than prepaid calling cards and Skype. And you can use from your mobile!

Extremely happy with Rebtel. One of the best Voip companies I have ever used. Great phone service and low cost.  I use it for my phone service and it could not be better. They have the best, crystal-clear voice quality. Their customer service is so helpfull and always giving rapid answers. Prices are the best around and their plans are set up perfectly. I am extremely satisfied with my phone service from Rebtel..
Ow...almost forgot the app! Grab one! There is a iPhone, Android and Blackberry app.

Easy to use, super cheap and can be used on multiplatforms (fixed and mobile phone, iPhone, Android and Blackberry). Best of all you save money.
Some downtime here and there but it is a minor thing.

Friendly reminder: if you cancel their phone service and need to return the device, you must remember to bring their cat 5 one dollar cable back as well. That's right, not only the box, the AC adapter, but also the network cable! Otherwise, they will charge you $5 for that cable. It doesn't matter you have used their service for 10+ years (that cable they originally supplied may break already); or the cable may get lost. 10 years, who knows! anything can happen! Besides, who will remember to bring that cable, no other companies ask that! Is it a way how this nickel and dime company makes money? Because lots of people may just end up paying and save a second trip!

I've used ItalkBB TV+phone for almost 10 yrs. I paid for $180/yr. The phone line is useless, but if you only want Chinese TV, it's same price. Recently I bought a TV box for $130 on Amazon. it comes with all Chinese channels plus English channels, much more than ItalkBB TV provided. I only need to pay once, no more monthly pay like italkBB TV. So I called to cancel my italkBB service. They stop service immediately although I have paid for the whole month. I was also requested to return the equipment with cables on my own shipping cost. So don't believe they say "free box with free shipping". This business is so cheap and stupid. They ask you return the junk equipment just to give you hard time, so you will never be back to them in the future.

The worst phone company ever!! The signal is weak and customers services are horrible. Once you use this company you cannot transfer your phone number to another company. They charge you less at the beginning but will charge you more at a later time.

iTalkBB should feel honored to received one star! Because they deserve zero
            star!!
I have been in the US for more than 17 years. I have to say iTalkBB has been
the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They gave you the warmest welcome
when you sign up. But you will expect the most greedy goodbye experiences
when you cancel. I transferred my number to Verizon in 4/18 2017, and thought
italkbb service will be automatic be canceled. However, just want to confirm,
I called iTalkBB in 4/20 to confirm. They tried every methods letting me to
stay with their services. After they realized I will definitely go, they
changed. I insist that don't charge me any more. They agreed.
Two months later, I found they charged my credit card for $29.97 for the
service of 4/20 - 5/19. I called them, they said you called at the first day
of the billing cycle, we have to charge the whole month!. I said my number
was already transferred to Verizon in 4/18, how did you provide the service
for me for 4/20-5/19? they refuse to refund!!

To all who want to sign up iTalkbb:
Please, not only their service are really bad!! but also you have much much
            better options:

Use Skype to do international phone call!! For international calling to
landline or cell phone in China from your cell phone in the US, 400
minutes/$2.99, 1000 minutes/$4.99. Very convenient, and crystal clear!!

For all iTalkBB users, dump this company, and run away as soon as you can to
same 90% of your international call of Talkbb, and get much better signals
and much better services in Skype!!

            nothing
bad service, bad signal, bad prices

If less than Zero rating were possible, I would give such a rating! This is
the worst company I have ever worked with. I used their iTalkBB TV box so
that my mother could watch Chinese programs. First, I had to pay $49.99/year
for Renting the box, in addition to $10/mo for the phone service. I told
them that I don't need the phone service, only the TV box for Chinese
programs, then I was told that I would pay $15/mo if I don't use their phone
service! Blood suckers! I had to keep the phone service even though the
phone service has never been used.

Fast forward, at the first day of the second year, I was charged another
$49.99 for renting the TV box for the whole year. Within one month, I needed
to cancel the TV service, since my mother had left for travel. I was told,
not only do I need to pay another month of phone service which has never been
used, but I won't get any refund of the $49.99 charge for the whole year,
even though, I had only used it for less than a month. Additionally, I need
to return the box to them within 15 days, or I'll be charged $75! This
company is all about finding ways to charge you more fees, rather than
providing good customer service, and a good customer experience.

I will never, ever, do business with this company again, nor will I ever
recommend this company to anyone I know. Avoid this company like the plague.

I have been using iTalkBB's phone service since 2007 and I recently cancelled
            my service.

Here is what happened to me since 2 years ago: every time my parents made an
international call, the call will be cut off at random times. I called
iTalkBB service and they did something on their backend to try to make things
better. Things did not get better. I asked if they should provide a more
updated box to me because the one I have been using is 8 years old
already..... I was told that since I have bought the box (it was the only
option in 2007) they would not be able to ship me the new box. I will have
buy another box. I have to say, their customer service was OK. They told me
what they have done in the backend. As an IT person, it made sense.

After that phone call, my parents told me the calls did not get cut off as
frequently but the quality went down. there are statics.

Recently, we finally decided to that we want to get out of iTalkBB phone
service and just use Google Voice instead. After all, Google Voice is
cheaper, more flexible, and a lot higher quality.

And here is how things went south: iTalkBB tried their best to keep me on
their service, which I can totally understand. Our mind is made up, we are
switching. So, I patiently told them again, again and again that I just want
to cancel. Finally, they gave up. but then they told me that the phone box
belongs to them and I had to ship it back to them within 15 days or they will
charge me $59.99. I was like, what? I own the phone box, that is why yall
would not give me a new one 2 years ago. They told me there must be a mistake
because they should be able to give me a new one. I said "OK. That was 2
years ago. The fact is they told me no. So, let's not focus on the past. The
issue we have now is you asked me to return the box that I have paid for."
Then iTalkBB person, it is a her, said they have reimbursed me in a monthly
base from 2008-2009. My answer to her was "I paid for the box. you decided to
reimburse me, that is iTalkBB's decision. It does not change the fact that I
bought the box. It is like you go shopping, and bought a skirt. Then the
company told you they will pay you back for the skirt for some reason. You
accepted it. But then you found out the skirt doesn't fit you so you went go
return it, but come to find out you need to pay the company back for the
shirt if you are returning it. That doesn't even make sense."

Then that person went on to try to rationalize iTalkBB's behavior. And here
is the kicker. They want original condition of their equipment, including the
internet wire. I almost laughed my butt off. It has been 10 years in my case.
I moved 3 times in the past 10 years. An internet cable wire is an internet
cable wire. No one cares about original or not as long as it works. Not to
mention that the wire may not work anymore after 10 years.

At the end, I simply told her "Look, it will only cost me around $5 to ship
you back this 10 year old equipment that I have no use. I would simply take
it to the electronic center and recycle it. If you want this junk back, I
WILL ship this junk back to you. Please note that our conversation has taught
me that I will never ever return to iTalkBB anymore because iTalkBB simply do
not have any integrity. This $5 will also earn iTalkBB my honest opinion on
all the possible online review website I can find. I am not upset at you. You
are just following what was given to you. The problem lies in the whole
philosophy and culture of iTalkBB. I will not trust iTalkBB and I will not
give a penny to iTalkBB moving forward. Again, I am sorry you will have to
take the blunt comments from me. If you do not truly believe iTalkBB's way of
doing business. I don't think you are happy in what you are doing. If that is
the case, I hope you find a better job soon. Your patience to me and your
insistence for keeping customers will earn you a much better job in a much
better company. You are too good for iTalkBB". I mean it. She was a good
customer service representative, she was caught in a rock and a hard place.

I hope this review is candid and honest. I tried to be as objective as
            possible.

A iTalkBB number is given so that people from China can call the iTalkBB number, and it will be routed to house in the US. And there is no long distance charge.

i joined their internet for a month and the service suddenly stopped 3 days ago (no internet, no phone). I immediately reported it and requested for tech support. However, no one was able to give me a clear answer when would they fix the problem but just asked me to wait. I complained it to the manager but again, he could not tell me when could they arrange someone to fix my problem. He asked me to wait for another 3 days before he could give me a better timeline (as they are not working during the weekend). Again... this is not a guarantee but he just "trys his best". I requested to speak to his boss but he said that he is the top rank of his division. I am very frustrated with their work effeciency and poor co-ordination. It seems to me that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Very poor tech support.

if you want to use iTalkBB, read this review before you connect them. I believe all the 5 stars rating review are hired and paid by the iTalkBB to try to fool the new customers.
I have been using iTalkBB for many years. The major advantage with this company is that you can call China anytime and "no time limit" ( normally they auto cut you off after about 2 hours ). That's it ! Other than this advantage , you will suffer with all their customer services.
There is one time, my sit top box broke. I have to call their Customer Services for three days and six times. Finally I ran out of patience and started to yell at them before they finally ship over a new sit top box.
They increased monthly fee from $23 to $28 without notify me.
the thing that pissed me off the most is when I sold my house and called in to disconnect. They simply asked me to leave a phone number and call me back in 24 hours. Everybody know when you sold your house, you need to disconnect lots of services like gas, water, electricity, TV, internet cable, phone, etc. I only spend about 10 minutes calls to disconnect each of all these services EXCEPT iTalkBB. They make it extremely difficult to disconnect it until you call them many , many times.
Originally, I thought to re-connect the iTalkBB after I move to my new house. But, this tough disconnecting their services and bad customer services experience make me NEVER return this company !

You call China without extra fee
The Customer Services is the WORST I have ever seen in the U.S. It has typical Chinese way to doing business. You give them money ( subscribe their services ), they give the best services. But, you want to cancel the service or call in for any issues. They turn deaf hear to you.

We made the worst business decision and moved our service to VOIPO. They are very unreliable. They have too many problems that I do not believe they know how to solve. We have lost so much business without knowing because customers can not reach us. When their server goes down, which happens very often, their customer support number and their live chat goes down so, you can not reach them. We are moving our service away ASAP. I wish I can sue them for the amount of business we lost.

I was a VOIPO customer from 2011 to 2019. After I sent an email to discontinue future service, and they acknowledged it, they still tried to charge my credit card for future service anyway a few days later. They also are claiming that they want me to pay $49.99 for an 8 year $25 router when new or return it, but it died years ago and I switched to my own replacement (Obihai) router. They did not request the return of the router ~3 years ago when I let them know it failed, but now want me to pay double the brand new price on a discontinued, un-pro-rated and horrible router. I had lots of problems before I switched to my own.

It was a good deal 8 years ago, but I switched to Callcentric for half the price, and there are lots of better priced options now.
All of them. Awful $25 router provided.

I used VOIPo for more than 4 years. After I solved the static issue caused by FIOS with my filter, the service was acceptable. VOIPo was unable to solve it in those days. here are providers with comparable or better service and lower prices, such as AxVoice. At renewals, they refused to offer any alternatives to take-it-or-leave-it pricing. The customer insults come when you cancel service. They demand the $5 adapter back or they will charge $49.95. After receiving the adapter with all identifying information, they want to know the UPS tracking number. Makes you wonder how many hundreds are received each day.

Competitive array of functions. Reliable although my usage was very minimal.
Very poor customer service. Communications cross over departments. Negative experience when canceling service. There are more competitive choices.

I was with Vonage Residential (another VOIP provider) for several years and loved the sound quality and features that came with the service, but the price increased every year. Vonage was becoming as expensive as an AT&T landline. I saw an advertisement for VoIPo promising all these features for a low price - I was very skeptical. I decided to give them a try. I started the transition to VoIPo by sending a signed request to my old service provider (Vonage) for the release of my phone number a month in advance. I had no idea these phone companies required so much time to release a telephone number these days. Once the number was verified and released VoIPo quickly setup the number on their servers. Configuring the VOIP adapter on my end was relatively painless. Once everything was setup I noticed the voice quality with VoIPo was not bad, but not as good as the outstanding voice quality of Vonage. Considering the money I am saving that is a compromise I will make any day. About a month after the transition the voicemail out for over a week. I was not a happy camper. It took a lot of communication with the help desk over several days before issue was finally resolved. One of the more knowledgeable technicians went through all my settings and got things running smoothly. The voice quality seems a little better too. I have been with VoIPo for about a year and half while using Comcast as my ISP. I have not had any issues since the voicemail failure over a year ago. I am pleased with the current level of service and totally delighted with the price. Yes, I have recommended VoIPo to my friends and relatives. I have taken advantage of their 2 year extension sale.

                    - Good price. - Large feature set
                    - Bargain basement IP adapters - It takes a few minutes for deleted voicemail to go away

I have now been with them for two years and while they had their issues at the beginning, you simply cannot beat the price for the number of features you get. Ooma and Vonage are no comparison. The support gave me an attitude about using my own VOIP phone that they "do not support" but still gave me the necessary settings to allow my unit to be used with their system. You have to know what and how to use the control panel if you want a successful phone system. Plugging it in and walking away isn't the way to approach this service at all. I thought I would be smart and switch to the Ooma business and I quickly found out that the VOIPO had so many more features available and that if you wanted anything done at Ooma you had to use their equipment that you needed to purchase from them. I immediately switched back and VOIPO gave me no attitude about my F-up. Lesson Learned ---- Good Service!!

Easy set-up with direct contact to customer service. Easy to manage control panel
Once and a while the service is unavailable but that has been only twice in two years -- same as ANY big VOIP company would have in a comparison

                    System was down again.(
I took their Customer service rep (his name is Ray) 20 minutes on the phone
to admit there is a major outage.
Ray had no idea how long it will take to fix.
When asked to talk to a supervisor he told me nobody is available
I'm going to look for a different company.

Every time they need to adjust their server and they don't test - they ask
me to have friends that use different provider to test

If all you want are headaches, then this company will deliver that. VOIPO
does not care about customer service. The customer service agents are rude
and will lie to you, just to get you off the phone. They will always state
that the problem is yours and then fix the problem later on, doing the work
on their end. I have read that Timothy Dick (the owner), cares about the
customers, but this is not reflected at all in the attitude of the customer
service department. Not so surprisingly, the price that they advertise is not
the price that you will pay. The absolute minimum with a 2 year contract,
paying the whole amount in advance, is $7.71/ month. They also do not have
the same high rating among they reviews as the other companies which actually
charge less per month. It also appears that being honest with customers is
not very important. If you do get their service and need to transfer to
another company, be aware of the problems and difficulty your will have.
VOIPO has kept customer phone numbers and forced the customer to pay for
another month before they were willing to transfer the number. The claim it
is part of their fine print.

Based on Google Voice (Google's VoIP service that allows free calls to any number in the United States and Canada), TelTub has moved Google Voice off the computer and to your phone.

And they've done it cheap. $5 gets you unlimited calls to any number in the United States and Canada. You also get low international rates. Plus, Google just announced the ability to port phone numbers on to their VoIP service (for $20). That means you don't have to use the old phone company, at all, anymore.

Internetcalls offers a pay-as-you-go model/free service model, similar to Skype. It also offers 120 days for free - although these days are not easy to determine in advance, nor are they guaranteed. Other than that, Internetcalls offers the low per-minute international rates we've all come to expect from an international VoIP provider.
