Vestalink Reviews

Vestalink (formerly Intelafone) offers you home phone service for $8.25 a month. With Vestalink service, you get unlimited calls anywhere in the continental US and Canada. Vestalink doesn’t require a contract and Vestalink gives you your first month free. Vestalink also offers a wide array of features you would pay extra for with the traditional phone company.

We have (soon had) a grandfathered account with Vestalink, part of the early adopters promotion when it launched. Initially it was 75 USD every 2 years, then 90.68 in 2018. Now its switched to a 24.99/mo plan with no warning. Our grandfathered flat rate promise clearly means nothing. The terms of service page leads to a 404. It has devolved into AT&T's metered landline plan. Moving to another provider and hopefully able to port our number without issue.

Great uptime and features,
Lack of communication and transparency has driven customer service into the ground.

Horrible company who won't port out your number -- as required by law -- when you try and leave. Been trying to get a number away from them for over 2 weeks now, and not happy with them passing the blame to others.

Okay service -- when it worked.
Can't port out number, even though it's required by law to do so.

Customer for over 3 years. When it works, it's great, but you can expect
issues several times a year and they can be catastrophic when they occur.
Unfortunately, customer service is email only - you get an instant reply that
they acknowledge the inquiry, but days go by without a response or solution.
My last issue lasted 4 days and by pure luck, I found a disgruntled former
customer who had the same problem who posted the fix before leaving them. I
have done the same.

They are old and tired and there are better solutions out there.

Price Compatible with Obitalk
Worst customer service ever - think Time Warner x 1000

I have this service for 3+ years and I am a believer. Yes, there is an
occasional issue that comes up, but no worse than any other option out there.
Good price, quality and overall service.

Purchased and used Vestalink for almost a year... before I realized E911
wasn't working. The calls simply couldn't be routed to 911 (or any 3-digit
number) from my Vestalink device.

I worked with Vestalink tech support for 2+ months on this. Got tired of them
not being able to fix their own issue (which they admitted they can fix,
would fix, but their tech team was pressed for time because "they'd recently
been hacked").

I got sick of waiting. I researched and signed up with Ooma. Happy so far
(it's been 2 weeks). And E911 works again.

Very responsive support staff. They hear, they listen, they care. Pricing is great. Features (excepting E911) are great.
E911 routing issues. More in-depth technical diagnostics are ignored or simply not done. Unfortunately, these two were dealbreakers for me. I need 911 service.

I'm happy with the service and especially the monthly price. Customer service was excellent, and shipping and delivery was fast, with no shassles. Voicemail works great, just wish it was a little easier to get to the messages.

easy to use and Install, fast shipping A+

Intelafone's customer service was diligent at working to port my number from Vonage to this service. Turns out the address on record at Vonage for my home phone number was their Corporate address NOT my home address. It took weeks for Intelafone to figure this out. They eventually called Vonage port office directly.

Cheap Simple Good Quality
Crude Voicemail (no text to voice email) Took a phone call to get the number on the Caller ID to be my transferred number versus Intelafone's assigned number.

As I mentioned in the title, great price for an easy to set up phone system. Placed the order on a weekend and received the adapter in a few days. Turned it on, works like a breeze.

I am not sure why they require a minimum of 25 words here in this section of the review. It was difficult for my mother to hear people when trying to use this service. They continued to take money out of my account after I had their service disconnected. I will go to bank tomorrow to make sure this will not happen again.

Cell phone service at our house is almost always less than a bar, but paying $20 or more per month for an additional phone line didn't make sense, and neither did dropping our cell phones and trying to make do with just a land line. However, we have a dependable internet connection at our house, so we decided to try Intelafone. They really are a great service. There is a fair startup cost of around $20, but sometimes they offer the first month of service free to balance that out. However, once we were on regular service, the cost was always $11.25 per month. Most long distance phone calls were complimentary, and the one time (in months of calling) I did get charged a long distance fee, it totaled less than $0.20 for several minutes of call time.
The sound quality isn't amazing, but it is good enough to be clear, and to be honest, our phone itself could be upgraded and that might improve call quality further. The only gripe we ever had was that our bill increased to $13.25 suddenly at one point, but it was due to a "Federal and State Tax Recovery Fee", so I blame the government and not Intelafone.
Mostly, I just say thanks. Intelafone has been wonderfully adequate and reasonably priced. That's all my wife and I needed.

Reliable phone service for half the cost of a land line through Comcast and other big companies. Intelafone also offers good answering machine service and online text versions of messages that have been left on your phone.
If your internet connection is lost, so is your ability to use the phone. Use this service only if you have a solid, ongoing internet connection.
