Had Vonics for 5 weeks. Porting went Ok, took 3 weeks. Quality and reliability have been good. Customer service is slow and not all features work as expected. If you are looking for a good value and have minimal technical ability Vonics is a good choice.

I am very happy with my Vonics Digital phone service. The call quality is excellent and is without any echo or voice delays. Good features set and easy to setup. The plan cost is the lowest I have seen in the industry. They look like they know what they are doing unlike my previous provider. Give these guys a try if you are looking for a combination of price and quality. Good luck.

I just started up with Vonics Digital. They had a very good offer of residential unlimited calling package with a free fax line which I use as a second line. It was part of their fifth year anniversary promotion plan. I also added a UK virtual number to the plan.
I am very happy with the Vonics phone service, but I was initially disappointed. We had bit of a rocky start. I received the telephone adapter ten days after I placed the order instead of the 4-5 days they claimed. There was a back order on the voip phone adapter from the manufacturer. They assured me that they don’t start their billing cycle for two weeks to allow for such a situation and to allow for transferring my existing phone number to them.
Once I hooked up my voip adapter I got a dial tone within seconds but, I initially had problems with the voice quality from the very first call. The voice was breaking and had delays. I was with the support engineer for about 30 minutes and they just about had me check everything one by one. After running some diagnostics it turned out that I was getting very poor internet connection from my cable provider on and off. They recommended I call my ISP and have them look into the internet connection and the bandwidth problem. Turns out I made two cardinal mistakes. One, I moved my modem from the original jack to another jack in the house and second, I used an extension coax cable which I bought from Radio Shack was not up to spec. Once that was resolved the call quality was good and there were no delays, feedback or echoes. I called Vonics support and reported the progress. They helped me setup my voicemail and they were again very helpful and patient with me. I have been using the service without any problems since that day.
I really like the UK local virtual phone number scheme. I forward my Vonics number to my mobile phone and I get calls from UK on my UK phone number. It’s very convenient for my family to call me on. Vonics is worth looking into. Looks like a solid service with a good team of people.

I’m having Vonics Digital for almost 3 month now, and I am very pleased with their service. I used to have Vonage. Their service was extremely horrifying. So, I switched to Packet8 for I needed the quality of service. What really hurt were the shameful phone bills I was getting from them. Therefore, I have decided to give Vonics Digital a chance. I have ordered the service on Friday, and have received my device the following Thursday. It has taken me not even a minute to install the service.

I recently signed up with Vonics Digital on 12/29/2007 and received the equipment on 01/07/2008. The setup was plug & play. I have never had such excellent Voice Quality. No other voice quality can compare and the features they have along with the price will blow your mind. Customer service reps are very polite, I don't know about anyone else but I take that personal.
I'm still testing the whole thing…so far so good. I have not had to call customer service, so no experience there. Hope this helps.

I switched from Vonage to Vonics Digital. Favorite reason is the poor customer service I got from Vonage. To date, customer service at Vonics has been great. This is a quite new technology and I expect some difficulties. However, the engineers are well educated and very helpful. They actually assist you to resolve issues, instead of pushing things off in hopes that you or your problems will go away. Great price and they actually will follow up on issues for you. So far, Vonics has met all of my expectations.

While Vonics has the pricepoints set properly, they have to get everything else about the service up to par before I'll ever consider recommending them. My experience spans across almost 9 months of patience and I've outlined the steps below:
Ordering: Vonics back in June 2007 was very responsive to sales enquiries and wasted absolutely no time in getting me the equipment to connect up to their network. Once I received it, I immediately started to get it connected and was pretty excited when I finally heard the dial tone.
Day to day use: Overall, it sounded like a regular phone, until about the 4th day. I was on a call (international) and all of a sudden it sounded like the other party was under water. The connection was horrible, and I had to re-connect three times before switching over to another line (not Vonics) to continue the conversation.
Support: Based on this issue, I dialed the 800 number for support as listed on their website, and was immediately put to someone in the Phillipines that basically read a script to try and help resolve this issue. The script started with "Unplug the Terminal Adapter and let it sit for 2 minutes, then plug it back in". This fixed the issue until the next day. So I repeated the process. After about a week of this, I called back to explain what was going on, and they recommended that I put the TA between my home router (Netgear) and the cable modem. I agreed and did as they suggested. My issue with the phone calls went away, but my internet connection started messing up and I still had to reboot the TA daily to fix that -- even bigger problem, as I work from home as a Sales rep for a software company, and often do online demos of our products.
Support (Again): So I attempt to contact support, and end up staying on hold for long enough for their phone service to give up on me and ask that I leave a message for someone to call me back. After 3-4 days of waiting, I call back again, and get the same thing, leave another message, followed up by an e-mail to support. Still, no response.
After this, I'm getting pretty tired of this, and pick every e-mail address off of the website that I can find, and send a pretty blount message to all of them asking if SOMEONE would please contact me as I'm having serious issues with the service. The only response I got was from the Investments guy who (in a very blount reply) stated that he doesn't work for Vonics, please remove him from this thread. My mistake again, I did as he asked, rather than asking him to contact these people and have them get in touch with me so I would get off of his back!
Anyway, after about 9 months, I've been so fed up with these crooks that I've been asking for an RMA number to send their equipment back and cancel the service. I received a long legalese commentary about this, with no concern about customer satisfaction, on how to send this back. Believe me, this afternoon, I will be shipping a Fedex package back to them with a nice commentary enclosed.
Please do not waste your time with this company, as they will quickly get your business, and then leave you hanging out to dry.

I signed up for the service and waited for a month before posting a review on the company. I told the sales rep I would do if the service delivers what it promises. It’s been over one month now and I went forward with porting my number over to them which took about a week. It’s a reasonably painless process. I filled out a letter of authorization and they did the rest.
I went to Vonics after narrowing my choices down to couple of voip providers. Vonics price was the best and they have no cancellation fee so I went ahead with them. I signed up for the yearly prepay package and they waived the activation and shipping fee with annual discount on the monthly plan fees which really adds up. You cant go wrong with paying less than $15 a month with unlimited calling package. I was paying that for a basic plan with limited monthly minutes and ended up paying my previous provider close to $75 in cancellation fees.
The setup was simple. They shipped me exactly the same device model I had before from Linksys. I was up and running within few minutes. The voice quality is quite good with no echo or delay and most features are easy to setup. I wish they had efax capabilities however, I am able to fax with their regular line with no problems which by the way I wasn’t able to with my previous provider.
The voip industry looks like it’s still going through a maturation period, but all in all it’s a real close replacement for a regular phone line. I was able to wire all my phone jacks at home with the Vonics device running it to the wall jack instead of the phone and can make calls from any room now. I finally figured out how to do that otherwise you better have base station with wireless handsets for other rooms. I am relatively pleased with the service and the savings, but I like the features and flexibility voip offers.

low cost, decent voice quality, no cancellation fee
no voice to text, no efax

Vonics
IMPORTANT UPDATE: We are no longer recommending Vonics. As a long time partner of Vonics, we at Compare-VoIP.net sent Vonics thousands of dollars in new customers. Vonics has not paid us for referring these customers. Numerous emails and phone calls to Vonics have gone unanswered. How could we recommend a service that does not pay their affiliates, answer emails or return phone calls! The answer is that we can't recommend Vonics. Vonics has numurous negative reviews on the internet.
We suggest all prospective Vonics customers to STAY AWAY FROM VONICS.
This comment proves that THIS site - voipreview.org - is paid by Vonics to say good things about them ( where they review VoIP companies). But if Vonics doesn't pay them a commission, then these review sites get pissed and then say ' Vonics sux'. Don't believe the positive reviews that you read on these review sites : they are often planted by the VoIP companies themselves.

I purchased 1 year of service.
Never received the device.
Multiple emails and calls resulted in dead ends or no response.
Absolutely avoid this company. I'm lost my money and it is unrecoverable.
