I've used www.voip.ms for years with at max a dozen numbers (DIDs). They've done well the vast majority of the time until now. I recently attempted to port out a number. It’s only reasonable that voip.ms use automation as the primary means of fulfilling ports. Computer automation is FAST and I expect 99.9% of ports succeed via automation. In this case, despite having voip.ms provide me the necessary authorization info via email (matched my account records as well) and emailing it to the receiving carrier, it’s been 9 days, hours of frustration, and a dozen unsuccessful attempts. Account Name **** **** Address *** **** **** City **** State ** ZIP Code ***** No pin Account number and BTN- ********** Voip.ms assures me if only the receiving carrier would share the PON (port order number) identifier with them they'd investigate and resolve whatever the hangup is. I find it fishy voip.ms doesn't already see the PON when each port attempt takes place (it seems they're outsourcing that part of their business to another vendor and collaborate poorly) It's equally suspect as to why the receiving carrier doesn't see the PON identifier either. The receiving carrier may outsource as well. When the automation doesn’t succeed, my experience has been that voip.ms shirks assuming ownership for the problem and an effective secondary means to allowing these to succeed. The receiving carrier has been willing to conference call, chat, email chain etc. Especially because the receiving carrier could be communicating with voip.ms the very moment the request is initiated, voip.ms acknowledge and promptly resolve any hitch in the process. Voip.ms has stonewalled such reasonable efforts. It seems rotten a person should have to go so far as to contact the FCC/NPAC. I used to be an evangelist for their service. Now, I'm just desperate to get my numbers released voip.ms

Service used to be great. Hopefully they just need to change their business process regarding port outs.
If porting out doesn't work via their automated system, brace yourself to get voip.ms to make reasonable efforts to resolve the problem.

I have been using VOIP.MS for over a year. Very stable system, no breakdown. Several configurations possible. Fast and efficient customer service. 9-1-1 works well with the E-911 display.

Many configuration, stable system.

The rules introduced in the company virtually prevent the registration of
selected customers, from some countries can only pay by wire transfer, which
is difficult and expensive from countries other than the recipient country.
It is a waste of time to register when you have to go through with their
strange rules, which are already quite random, and you do not know what will
happen in a moment. First I was asked to scan my document (I sent), and then
it turned out that my country can not pay by card, paypal etc - only through
wire transfer. No sense, waste of time. I do not recommend.

Lots of features.
You can waste a lots of time when trying to pass their "security rules" then you will be unable to do something because of some strange reason they have.

This service is what telephone service should be. The DID filter helps block
telemarketers and using the "wildcards" you can prevent them from bypassing
the block. What I really like is their voicemail service ....you set up to
have the voicemail and forward the message to your email as an MP3 file and
delete the file...you can call back on a computer phone or regular phone and
not worry about remembering or deleting the msg. The price is good. When I
travel I take the adapter box and a phone with me...it's as if I'm
home....works everywhere...love it!!!

I've already helped a number of friends get on the service...cost is very
reasonable...even overseas calls

Great service....great support

I have been using VOIP.MS for over a year now. Their service is fast and we
have had no issues with the connections or quality of voice. What makes them
stand out for me is their exceptional customer support. I am a neophyte when
it comes to VOIP. I have installed a FREEPBX PBX. There is no doubt this is
a different world, even for a company that is hi-tech. The concepts,
acronyms etc are all foreign even compared to more complex data
communications (networking). Whenever I ran into a problem, I would "chat"
with their tech support and they would point me in the right direction, even
when it had nothing to do with their service, but with my PBX configuration.
I am not suggesting they were customer support for my PBX, but they gave me
hints where to look. They researched their end to make sure their end was
functioning properly and when confirmed would say, we are operating
correctly, BUT...have you thought of........ or maybe you should look into
the settings of this area in your PBX.

Right price, solid service, but most importantly to me, knowledgeable
friendly customer service.

I've been with them for more than 2 years now. I even got rid of my iphone.
Only using my ipad and softphone on my computer.
I can't say it was easy to set it up... It took many trial and errors...
But it is working fine. No complains there.
I wish they would develop a real connection for the SMS. I'm using Bria as a
Softphone. Being able to connect the sms with it would be awesome. I guess
it's not in their priorities.

Price. This service is one of the cheapest around. They are the only one to offer some kind of a sms at that low price. Once it's working, I can say it's reliable.
Features. SMS. Not a real SMS service and certainly not real time. Sometimes SMS comes in 5 to 10 minutes after they were sent. I was not able to make the ios app that someone built worked. Very technical information, not user friendly. You must be a real geek to understand that stuff.

I've been using this service for a little over 5 months now... I was a little
concerned about what the ongoing quality might be, but decided I'd give it a
try by forwarding my bell landline to my number and trying..... I've been
doing that ever since....

Customer Service: I've used chat and tickets to resolve a few minor problems
and ask questions.... all have been answered quickly and professionally.
Very happy

Quality: I'm using the "regular quality" service for the cheaper price.... to
date it has been pretty much flawless! no echo's, no stutter, just clear
consistent quality!

Price: Over the last few months, my average cost per month (converted to CAD)
has been about $14/month. That includes lots of calls to the US and across
Canada. Also includes e911 and call display.

Features: well, I guess I'm pretty happy - has everything I need which is not
that much. I find the VM a bit cludgy, but fine with me and I like that the
messages are sent to my phone via email. Only thing I'd like to see is
'online' access to manage the messages.

Reliability: It's been flawless.... we've had a couple of outages in the 5
months, but they have turned out to be our internet supplier problem, not
voip.ms..... Been very pleased.

Good price and awesome quality. Great customer service.
Setup requires a modicum of technical expertise. If you can setup a modem, you can setup the voip box that you have to buy on your own.... Be nice if they offered some sort of package with the hardware and instructions for it.... they might get some more business.....

I found this service by accident. The website is not the most attractive,
and I initially found it confusing and just about moved on.... then I started
reading the site indepth and doing the math on just what this would cost
me..... a fraction of the cost of other services and most of the reviews I
read were very positive.... So I dug in and started reading and researching
on what I would have to do.... not that complicated really, just had to
provision myself an ATA box, which I did for $50.... the box came and within
an hour I had a working phone system.

The voice clarity is exceptional, even on the 'value' plan and so far I've
been pretty happy.... I have my real number forwarded to my new number and
will likely port it over within the next month. Good bye Bell! The support,
though only chat, has been good and responsive. My various setup questions
have been answered quickly. If you sit down and read it however, the wiki
provides you everything you need.... just takes a bit of patience.

Although they do say it clearly on the site, the fact that all of the numbers
are in USD, makes this a little more expensive then it would seem, but all
the same, I figure we'll be spending $5 to $8 per month as opposed to close
to $70, so I'm pretty happy :)

Overall, I'm pretty happy and I think you have to make sure you don't let the
site and mechanics of it scare you away....

- price - lots of features - voice quality
- have to be patient and read the wiki about the service....

I've been a very happy customor for 3 year.

I love voip.ms. I particularly like these features
1. Forwarding: I can forward my calls when I am on vacation. No need to call anyone. I just do it online and works in a minute.
2. Ring group: This feature lets me forward my calls to my home phone, my cellphone or my work phone at the same time.
3. Filtering: This is by far the best feature. I am on no-call list, but I still get calls from my alma mater. I just block those numbers. I also had my neighbor (who has no phone whatsoever) giving out my number as his number. This continued even after he got a phone. I forward his calls that comes to my number to his cell phone.
4. subaccounts: You can manage many subaccounts. I have my home phone as one subaccount, another for my cell wifi phone, and etc. The calls between subaccounts are free.
5. If you are really cheap, you can use ipkall to get a free phone number to reduce your monthly bill by $1.50 or so, but why bother? My phone bill is like $5 a month.<br />
6. The webpage makes it easier for you go into business selling voip services.
I thought about getting ooma for my relatives, but I was horrified that ooma charges for the services I mentioned above. Voip.ms charges for<br />
maintaining a phone number (depends, but it is $0.99 or $1.50), calls that you receive or calls that you make (like a penny per minute), caller ID (less than a penny per number), and e911 service ($1.50). You do not have to have a phone number or 911 service. You can just pay a penny per minute to make outgoing calls. International rates are also very cheap.
CONS: it took me a while to figure out how to setup my ATA with sub account. It also took me a long time to learn where to find things on their webpage. It really is not a con because i much rather have all these features than not.

I changed VOIP providers to get away from the abysmal voice quality I was experiencing and to get features to better handle spam calling VOIP.ms makes it cheap and quick (almost instantaneous) to get a line and test it out for a week or two, as I did. Once satisfied, I had my lines ported which took a week. I should note that I'm using their premium service at <$0.01/Minute extra which may be why I'm so happy with the voice quality. Also, VOIP.ms gives users a choice of multiple points of presence which likely also affect voice quality. I'm in Buffalo and am using a server in Toronto, a mere 100 miles, better than the 4-500 miles my old provider is from me. Probably closer than any other VOIP provider's server. Service is compliant with NOMOROBO call-blocking which has silenced those damned unsolicited calls. Customer service has been excellent with clarifying details and helping setup my ATA. It's email only, but very well managed and quicker than most competitors' voic4e support. As I said, I'm most concerned with voice quality and features. Nevertheless, I plan on saving 60% of what I was paying a competitor. No wonder I'm pleased!

Best sound quality I've encountered using VOIP. Would give them a 5, but it still doesn't compare with my old POTS landline. Customer service, technical and otherwise is limited to email, but it is extremely responsive and effective. BYOD and setup guides and help provided. Lots of customer control over setup and features. Free number porting. Pay as you go with no minimums.
Lots of customer control means that setup can be difficult and time-consuming.
