2 homes + 2 small businesses, I'm happy with the service
I'm not one to write glowing reviews (my Amazon profile proves it, lol) but
as a user of VoIP.ms for both my home, my dad's home, and 2 small businesses
I run, I'm very happy with the service. It's one of the rare things in my
tech life which I don't have to put much thought into on a daily basis.
I originally got to know VoIP.ms when I was looking for a VoIP provider for
my OBiHai analog adapter. I've been an active user of the service now for
over 6 years. It works so well that my dad forgets he has VoIP service as his
home phone service until the internet (Charter) goes out. He's been spoiled
by the dialtone always working, NoMoRobo integration, and voicemails arriving
as emails. My mom was also a user of the service before she passed away and
it passed the "mom" test too. She never knew it wasn't a regular phone line.
One thing I would advise people looking at the service is... It's very
feature rich but to access those features, you can't be afraid of digging
into settings and figuring out how it works. VoIP.ms is definitely not the
most newbie friendly service. You don't have to be a techie to use it but you
do have to be moderately savvy.
From a reliability standpoint, as I have 2 other phones on my desk provided
by other big name VoIP providers, I can say that VoIP.ms outperforms most of
the big players with big marketing budgets. I can't say I have ever noticed
an unscheduled/unannounced outage.
The most surprising features to find at this price point: music on hold,
announcements, extension to extension transfer (if enabled), auto attendants,
and text messaging.
With regards to support, I've rarely needed it. In the 3 times I've needed
something over my life as a customer, the interactions have been efficient,
responsive and positive. I really can't ask for more from a cost effective
VoIP provider.
