Verizon Business VoIP Reviews

Verizon, America’s largest wireless provider, is moving over to ‘landlines’ and VoIP technology. Verizon offers a variety of plans, for business phone systems and home phone users. There’s usually a discount if you add Verizon home phone service to your wireless plan.

Verizon bases its business phone service a little different that most other VoIP business providers. Instead of providing unlimited or virtually unlimited calling for a monthly fee, they build the structure around annual volume commitments. Based on your service term or volume commitment, Verizon can offer discounts or special deals. Because this is the case, Verizon’s business service is most appropriately geared toward call centers and other businesses that have high-volume calling needs.

Verizon’s residential services are equally complex: they different services for local calls, long distance calls, and international calls. Please check their website for details and to see if service is available in your area.

Verizon Voicewing was awful, I only had it 2 weeks and cancelled. Customer service hold times avg. 1.10 hr, and problems seldomly resolved (voicemail), and my service went down 3x during my short sign on with them-could not receive any incoming calls. For a big name Co. they don't run the VOIP phone service well at all.

they did waive set-up fee
Online mgr. idiotic, voicemail down alot, extremely LONG hold time for cust. service, choppy & unclear connections many

I had Verizon DSL (3mbps) and Verizon Landline Phone (no features ,no call wait, etc) and was paying about $62.00 INCLUDING TAX. Seeing how I was a complete Verizon customer, I switched to Verizon Voicewing thinking I would save some money with there $19.95 plan a month and save me another $10.00 per month on my phone bill. One of the Major points I asked the Sales Rep when I was inquiring about the Voicewing service is if my DSL service would remain the same. I was told"YES" seeing how I was already a Verizon customer everything would be the same and it makes it very easy. WOW! Was I in for a surprise. First of all, they were completely wrong about my DSL being the same. First of all what they dont tell you is, you will no longer get a DSL bill anymore as you now have what is called a "DRY" connection. (meaning no landline phone service) You must now give Verizon DSL a credit card to allow automatic draft of your credit card with only an e-mail showing you what they have drafted. No more looking at your bill on line first then paying it. The major screwing though was the price!! it changed! Went up from $29.99 to $39.99!! HUH?? When I called they said, "oh sorry sir no one told you this, but you cannot continue to keep your $29.99 3mbps speed with a dry connection anymore. You have automatically switched to our $39.99 a month plan. ha...ha...ha...got you didnt we?" So I try to switch back to my original plan I had with the landline ph. Guess what?, another thing they dont tell you, once you have switched your ph. # over to "ANY" Internet ph. service even if it is Verzion that you have always had, you now "LOOSE" your phone # and can not reuse it again to switch back to a landline ph!! UGH! I cancelled my Voicewing service after learning this and was told it would cost me yet another $39.99 for canceling the service only 1 week longer then the allowed 30 days trial period. Thats because I didnt get my DSL bill in time to realize what happened. Too late...."sorry sucker! ha....ha...ha....got you again." After a good whinning session with Verizon, they told me in a nice way that that it was my fault for not digging into it more and doing my homework to figure out all the hidden costs. As usual, all Verizon services , even though the name is the same, they all act like separate entities never knowing what each other is doing. Internet Voice over phone service is not for budget minded people, and it appears to me to be for Geeks that travel alot that luv to use there Laptops for everything such as looking at there ph. messages.

Hidden costs they dont tell your about. None of the Verizon services communicate with each other. They all are separate
Works Great. Great sound quality. (at least for me it did) Can view all your phone activity anywhere in world on web.

It is really sad when a bankrupt carrier (Sunrocket) provided a better service right up to the point where they shut off than does the nations largest telecom provider

the linksys phone adapter is a nice size (I had to say something positive...

switched from vonage to verizon at the first of the year because I was afraid my vonage service would drop due to the verizon lawsuit. Just switched back today from verizon to vonage because verizon's tech service is horrible. they asked me to stay by the phone on a certain date when their technicians were going to call. no call. when I called to find out why they said they decided they didn't need to call me to fix the problem (which never was fixed). why didn't they call and tell me that. tech was too busy to call. this actually happened on two occasions. verizon just doesn't have it together yet. maybe some day but stay away now. verizon actually has better features too. the verizon web manager loads slowly, even for the verizon techs. verizon doesn't have "click 2 call" and they make you prepay for intl long distance call. very inconvenient.

FOR ONE THING, VERIZON HAS ONE OF THE BEST SERVICE IN COMMUNICATION, BUT I BET YOU, THEY ARE THE WORST IN ALL, MOST ESPECIALLY, CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY CAN MESS UP UR CREDIT.

I'm just curious - how much Verizon pays to all those idiots who can't even post something smarter than the bullsh*t they write here? Shame! - I believe Verizon may pay more and get professional people sitting here and writing appropriate answers... at the end - they have money, they just recently won $60M from Vonage - so they could re-invest something back in a good black PR campaign.
Sh*t, how I hate our "antitrust" laws allowing AT&T to "become" Singular and then back to "better" at&t (just in smalls)... or MCI to cheat everybody for $38 billion, fail and then get dry out of water and be "purchased" by Verizon...
Well, does anybody really buys what those guys write here?

As a faithful Vonage customer for over 2 years, I decided to switch after a number of small nagging Vonage issues. Vonage's stability did play a role.
The phone adapter was shipped promptly and my Verizon wireless router that is also used for TV has a prebuilt profile for Voicewing. No problems installing.
Porting my line over took over a month which Verizon said was to a backlog at Vonage. No problems once the port finally happened. On a side note, Vonage made it difficult to cancel my account.
Did talk to customer service a couple of times. No problems getting through, but not so knowledgable.
Website is slooow, but not unusable. Features including configurable call block are nice. A couple of times, voice mails were delayed in receiving them.
Pricing is fine, but would wish for Vonage's better International rates.
Overall, the service has been extremely reliable and great call quality. I'm sure FIOS helps.

I switched from Vonage 500 to Verizon VoiceWing (VW) 500. There is no toll-free in Voicewing. You have to pay to call Verizon FIOS toll-free number using Verizon Voicewing.
Voicewing pricing is deceptive, customer service is non-existent, website is slow.
I would not recommend this service to any one.
