Great Service
I had an issue and it turned out to be a bad cable. While I was waiting I asked where this person was located. I could not believe it when he said Texas. I was very happy to hear that the support was right here in the USA!

I must say, these folks were pretty good. I had previously tried another company who transfered my number, couldn't get their equipment to work with my cable modem, kept me on the phone for hours, only to tell me to send their equipment back. These guys solved the router issue in minutes.
I finally got my last kid off to college this year (Go USC!!) and grew really tired of paying overage minutes on their cell phones. So, I bought 4 lines from VelocityTel (one for me and my 3 children). Now, they dont spend near as much time on their cell phones, and I don't have to pay near as much. This has already paid for itself in just one month. And the quality of the calls is sooooo much better than cell phones. My kids actually sound like I remember them. Plus, they really like it because they can get call notifications and voicemails straight to their email. Greg even listens to the voicemails in class. I'm glad I listened to my kids and tried VoIP. I'll never go back to a regular phone line (and I'm really beginning to hate the way my cell phone sounds). Anyways, I'm rambling, so I better go. Cheers and thanks VelocityTel!
When I first decided to make the switch to VoIP, I was pretty hesitant. I even had to talk my wife into doing making the switch. However, everything ended up going very smooth. I received my ATA, and when my number was moved over, all I had to do was plug it in and I was up and running. What a big relief. My wife would have never let me live this one down.
After getting the runaround with Verizon about porting my DSL number, Jimmy from tech support spent hours on the phone with Verizon to get my "dry" DSL setup. This way I can keep my number and my DSL line without having to pay for a landline. But be careful with Verizon, the CSRs dont seem to know about this new standalone DSL (imagine that). Luckily, VelocityTel went way out of their way to help the switch go seamlessly.
I have a new Linksys router and my own ATA. I wasn't able to get it working with Vonage, Sun Rocket, or Packet8. Finally, after talking to tech support at VelocityTel, I was able to get it going. It looks like version 5 of the new WRT54G does not work well with VoIP. Funny how the small company new how to fix it though.
I first joined Vonage 7 weeks ago and told them to take over my exisiting Verizon line. They e-mailed me weekly telling me the status is still pending! I came here and great reviews for this company, VelocityTel, so I joined. They had my number available in 1 week and now I'm up and running and LOVING my service!
Wow! I can't believe i can run 4 separate VoIP lines over a DSL line, and they all sound good. I own a small business and with their business unlimited plan, I can have my entire office stay productive for under $200.
I don't know what the person above was complaining about, but I've had nothing but a great experience with VelocityTel. They even overnighted my equipment for free.
I really like the service. I plugged it in, and it worked. I signed up online and it took 3 days to get my equipment. The price is as good as any other out there, and you can get your voice mail from a web browser.
