TeleBlend Reviews

TeleBlend is a residential VoIP phone service provider that provides broadband phone coverage in 85% of the United States. As a company, TeleBlend strives to deliver full-featured, low-cost, and plug-and-play service to consumers. Plus, with certain deals, you can even get internet as a part of the bargain.

How does TeleBlend work?

TeleBlend works with your existing broadband internet connection and in conjunction with an included TeleBlend adapter (the "Gizmo") to help you make and receive calls. Here is what you will need for TeleBlend service:

  • An existing broadband internet connection
  • A corded or cordless analog phone
  • A TeleBlend adapter (the "Gizmo")

TeleBlend offers a variety of plans. The Unlimited Calling plan is one of the cheapest on the market: only $15.95 a month for unlimited residential calls between the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada—and without a contract. The Unlimited Annual Plan offers the same features and calling, but requires a contract to lock in the lower price. Their Global Unlimited Plan runs a few dollars more per month but includes unlimited calling to 47 popular countries (it also requires a one-year contract). The Global Limited Plan, in contrast, offers 300 international minutes to 42 countries, but without a contract.

TeleBlend’s most cost-effective option is the High-Speed DSL with Phone Plan. This bundle has an upper price limit of $39.99 a month, significantly cheaper than similar broadband internet services, not to mention the included VoIP telephone service.

I switched to Teleblend because I didn't want to lose phone service. Biggest mistake I ever made. Essentially I have no outbound phone service. I have a dial tone but when I dial a number it never rings. I've been opening trouble tickets daily on this because Teleblend doesn't respond. Called Support and was essentially told he couldn't do anything. Stay away from these crooks.

I was a Sunrocket customer who lost service and money...chose to switch to Teleblend because of price. Did not do a check first and now I'm paying for it, literally. They took my money, but did not provide phone service. I opened a trouble ticket--no response---tried calling--can't reach anyone. STAY AWAY FROM THEM--they take your money--but give nothing in return.

I was a sunrocket customer for 2 years when my service took a dump on 07/16. Having always been happy with my service I jumped at the chance to move to Teleblend since there would be no hassles waiting for my number to transfer. While I understand the conspiracy theory to link Teleblend with Sunrocket, I don't think it's viable. I think if that were the case, all of the services we had with Sunrocet would have continued seemlessly with Teleblend. Instead, they are being restored one by one by a longstanding DSL and phone provider who decided to take advantage and help those of us out of service. If you read the website it states plainly that some services are still being instituted. I just received my voicemail on 07/30. I am still waiting for my international service to start working but I am ok with that. I made an informed choice knowing there would be some initial bugs in the system based on having read the ENTIRE web page, not just the homepage.
There have been customer service issues with all of the companies I contacted after the demise of Sunrocket except Inphonex( who I will use if teleblend flubs) due to 200,000 people scrambling for a phone. I waited a WEEK to receive an email from ViaTalk and that was to inform me that I needed to submit a utility bill with my name an address on it in order to provide me service?!? Realize there is just no way a fledgling company like Teleblend could be staffed to deal with the amount of questions I am sure they have. Give them credit too because they have the decency to only take on Sunrocket customers before they attempt to expand their service. I have no idea what kind of provider Teleblend will turn out to be, but I'm not going to find fault with them until I've given them a good fighting chance.
Also, you can request a refund from your credit card company for any unused months from Sunrocket and still retain Teleblend's offer of $12.95 for the remained of your SunRocket contract. Even though my renewal was in February, and long past the 90 day dispute period, Chase gave me a prorated refund within 2 days from my having emailed them the transaction information. So you really don't have to pay on top of already having paid Sunrocket. Unless of course you have a lemon of a credit card company.

After switching over I found out they do not have all the features of Sunrocket as promised. No voice mail "it's coming" No web access to messages. I had to wait almost an hour to speak to customer service who could only put in a work order.now I have to wait for them to contact me about cancelling service.

I switched to Teleblend when Sunrocket closed in order to keep service going. Unfortunately, at the same time, I moved my gizmo upstream between the cable modem and the router, since the sound quality had been echo-y and connections sluggish. I haven't had any VOIP service since Sunday. I put a support ticket into the web site right away Sunday night. Twenty-four hours later I had heard nothing, so I put in a more desperate (but still polite) ticket. I understand they must be scrambling to keep up, but it's been three days with no sign of life from either Teleblend support or the VOIP line. At least I can forward my home number to my cell phone -- using the Sunrocket web site!
My conclusion: Teleblend is not a viable provider. I found voipreview while searching for a replacement. Reviews have been a big help.

I was one of the many who got caught without service when Sunrocket went out of business. Unfortunately I prepaid for 1 years worth of service. I don’t think I’ll get any of that back. I received an email from Sherwood partners – see below (The Company who is managing the closing of Sunrocket) stating that they had worked out some deal with Packet8 and Teleblend for existing Sunrocket customers to get a discount if they transfer over their service. I have never heard of Teleblend until now. Its my understanding that Teleblend is made up of some of the old Sunrocket execs and they started this company to rollover existing Sunrocket customers into the new company called Teleblend.
I decided to rollover my service to Teleblend because the transfer of service was so easy to do. All I need to do was enter my phone number, address, credit card info. and that was it. My service is up and running just like it was with Sunrocket. My call forwarding to my cell phone even works without my having to set that up because that’s how it was setup with Sunrocket. I went with the monthly plan to play it safe as I’m unsure of the financial stability of this company – don’t want to get burned again with the annual plan. The service works the same as Sunrockets service except there is no web interface as of yet. Teleblend claims soon to have a web interface where you can make changes to your service. Overall the transfer of my phone number and the service is working fine. Just don’t like the idea of paying the same company that took my money on my annual pre-paid plan my business for this new monthly plan.
Here’s the email I received from Sunrocket:
Dear Customers,
After significant effort by the Company to avoid this result, SunRocket is in the process of closing its operations and therefore will no longer be able to provide you with the phone service that you have been accustomed to. However, this email provides you with an opportunity to sign up with select service providers who we believe will offer outstanding replacement service.
In order to assist you, we have entered into negotiations with a number of service providers. As a result of those negotiations, we have entered into agreements with 8x8, Inc., provider of the Packet8 service, and Unified Communications Corp., provider of Teleblend service to offer you the best options and we are proud to recommend the following alternatives to you. Please make your decision to move to a new service provides immediately as future service is uncertain.
