TeleBlend Reviews

TeleBlend is a residential VoIP phone service provider that provides broadband phone coverage in 85% of the United States. As a company, TeleBlend strives to deliver full-featured, low-cost, and plug-and-play service to consumers. Plus, with certain deals, you can even get internet as a part of the bargain.

How does TeleBlend work?

TeleBlend works with your existing broadband internet connection and in conjunction with an included TeleBlend adapter (the "Gizmo") to help you make and receive calls. Here is what you will need for TeleBlend service:

  • An existing broadband internet connection
  • A corded or cordless analog phone
  • A TeleBlend adapter (the "Gizmo")

TeleBlend offers a variety of plans. The Unlimited Calling plan is one of the cheapest on the market: only $15.95 a month for unlimited residential calls between the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada—and without a contract. The Unlimited Annual Plan offers the same features and calling, but requires a contract to lock in the lower price. Their Global Unlimited Plan runs a few dollars more per month but includes unlimited calling to 47 popular countries (it also requires a one-year contract). The Global Limited Plan, in contrast, offers 300 international minutes to 42 countries, but without a contract.

TeleBlend’s most cost-effective option is the High-Speed DSL with Phone Plan. This bundle has an upper price limit of $39.99 a month, significantly cheaper than similar broadband internet services, not to mention the included VoIP telephone service.

Their service has been worse and worse. I got a referral from a friend who was an existing Teleblend customer. They were supposed to give each of us $25.00 off. They did not. Strike one. I had signed up for a one year plan. Before the one year end, I called them up and asked to sign up for another one year plan. They said no you can't. I had to go with a monthly plan of 23.xx coming out of your credit card. Strike two. This went on for more than a year. Out of blue, they charged my credit card 37.xx for two consecutive months without any explantion. No human soul manning the phone line to give you an answer. Submit a ticket, they give you a boiler plate answer about cost going up and inviting me to sign up for the one year plan. STRIKE THREE. Thanks but no thanks. I promptly ported my number to a wireless pre-paid plan to keep my number and plans what to do next. I had to cancel my credit card to make sure they don't run up any more charges. What a rip-off and disrespect for their customers.

it is reasonably priced for 99.00/year plan
After that first year, Teleblend made you switch to month-to-month plan with your credit card on file to charge you 23.xx/month. Then, all of sudden, they jacked their price up to 37.xx/month. I had to cancel my credit card to get out under them.

No customer service to contact. No chat. Right now as i type this, an attempt for customer login to Teleblend results in a web page 'reset'. Go figure. I am signed up for $15.95 service (yes, i am a customer as i type this). However, the taxes on this service including a mysterious broadband access fee was over $20!! What is worse is that there was no advance communication or attempt at explanation that taxes are going to go up. At the end of the day, other VoIP SPs are not charging as much in taxes relative to the service (OVER 100%). If you are considering TELEBLEND, I suggest you take your service to others (like Ooma). Overall, impression is that they are stuck and don't care about existing customers.

Ok service. Highly over priced for the level of service and support
No customer service to speak of Very web portal service for existing customers (But hey the billing portal where they want you to pay always works just fine!)

Very frustrated to find buried in the terms and conditions a $39.99 cancellation fee for month to month accounts. I cancelled due to their "fees" becoming more than the price of their phone service.

The phone did work
Doubled the net cost of service from February 2014 to November 2014 all due to fees

Good deal and good service gone very bad! Unless you are willing to change in one year it's not a good deal, and even ending your service will be a hassle as there are no humans to deal with. [Think: the commercial with two computer servers talking with each other in an empty warehouse!!]

The initial plan is great, and for years you could sign up for an annual plan. Lot's of features...
Since they did away with humans, there is no way to opt to pre-pay the year for $99, and you just get charged month to month. There is no way to communicate with them. "Tickets" serve no purpose for any reasons are just acknowledged and that's it. Voice mail is inaudible and useless. I was with them for several years BEFORE they were teleblend. Service and features have deteriorated enormously over the last 2-3 years. I used to tell everybody about it. Now I'd just say, STAY AWAY unless you enjoy aggravation!

Save your money and find a company that values the customer. I don't understand why teleblend makes it so hard to communicate with their company. I tried to contact teleblend via phone and email over for several weeks but no response from teleblend. There is no way to directly talk with someone the phone or even via a chat session, therefore there was no easy way to cancel my service. I felt trapped with the service and when I call the teleblend offices, I just get a voice message stating that if I leave an email someone will "promptly" respond. Well it has been several weeks and many calls/email later and nobody has replied from Teleblend. It seemed like the only way to get teleblends attention was when I removed my billing auto-payment info from the teleblend system to cancel my service. Even after removing my credit card info from their system and autopay, they went ahead and used my previous credit card info and charged my card for the next month of service! They had not right to billed my account without my authorization... that is fraud! All you have to do is answer you phone or reply to your customers emails. I can think of several other VOIP service providers that are less expensive, reliable and honest... don't waste your time and money with teleblend.

they offer a cheap price to get you to join the setup is fairly straightforward
No customer service almost impossible to cancel due to they never answer the phone after a few months they raise your rates and the service got worse they used my credit card info when it was not authorized, dishonest there are many better voip services out there with much better customer service than teleblend often customers and friends called me on the teleblend line and received busy signals this appears to be a company that is run out so someones basement

Teleblend continues to raise prices and take away support. WHO WANTS A PHONE PROVIDER WHO REFUSES TO SPEAK TO YOU ON THE PHONE??? Massive price increases and the service is broken up and choppy conversations. They have taken away all personal support if you have a problem, they force you to send them an email, to which THREE TIMES they respond and claim the email messages are blank. BS!!!!!! The customer service representatives who respond are short and RUDE. I have never in my lifetime been so glad to cancel a service - which took me 3 attempts in 2 days. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU EVER SIGN UP AND GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!

basic features
ZERO customer support, will NOT talk to you now. Spotty, broken up service, price increases without any warning but insist on auto draft of course. Will NOT answer questions, WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT IN MY LIFETIME.

I was their client from Sunrocket and probably lazy to change anything
Customer Service is not answering your questions. Over billing every month. Impossible to cancel the service. You have to call and leave the message. They never return the calls, never cancel the service and keep billing you even when you ported number to the new provider. They are SCAM ARTIST.

I have been a long time customer, from the Sunrocket days. I recently prepaid 2 years and thats when things went south. I don't normally write poor reviews, but the heavy handed policies and extra service charges are excessive. Prepaying was supposed to save money but it does not. What it does is secure your funds with Teleblend and gives you no leverage as they now have your money. I don't know who is running the finances at Teleblend but whoever it is knows nothing about customer service. They do know how to turn customers away as is evident in other reviews. My issue is with the extra service charges which now adds up to over $10/month, so basically with the amount I already prepaid, I prepaid for nothing.
I am going to hook up with another VoIP provider and pull the plug on Teleblend. I'll lose money on the prepay but not having their hassel each month is worth the write off. Teleblend will probably go down the tubes as Sunrocket did the way billing treats customers.
Oh by the way, I have a second VoIP line with another provider that I also prepayed and I don't have the grief I have with Teleblend.
Shame on you Teleblend management.

Technically a good provider, equipment and service works well
Billing practices, taxes and service charges from the finance dept is a major con! Annual prepay does not disclose the 1 amount.

Con artists, will continue billing at double the rate unless you call and threaten to leave, at which point, they'll say they are switching you to the previous rate, but won't actually do so. Then, to top it all off, they'll keep billing you despite cancellation requests

I have had Teleblend since 2006/7 when SunRocket disolved, and the service ever since has been great, except for the one time a few years ago when I had to change phone number due to either equipment fail or politics on their end, but its been great ever since. I don't get hardly any nuisance telemarketer calls anymore either.
I love having the capability to call my friends in Canada and everybody in the USA for the same flat unlimited rate. Never had the luxury of that with my old landline provider without extra service packs.
OK, their service department on the 800 help line or 611 are understaffed, but their team reading and responding to email requests are most super and fast to respond.
I had checked out various other providers and features prior to SunRocket, and Teleblend, and I am sticking with TeleBlend, Their *gizmo* the Cisco/Linksys router has been reliable. It does run a tad warm in the summer months, but has never failed to perform.
I shouldn't mention names, but one of the other providers MajicJack that my friend had was horrible in all its forms.
(OK, you can delete MJ reference if that isn't appropriate here.)
Glad I dumped my landline, I will still keep my cell phone, I have never tried hooking up this interface at a hotel or other location, but I am sure it will work.

Teleblend did an awesome job after SunRocket failed in the business. They have awesome quality and features.
I had to change my number due to a system glitch when my old number would not receive calls anymore, but all has been well for years. But, the 800 support number and 611 isn't always available, but their tech support online is VERY FAST to respond to any problem.
