TeleBlend Reviews

TeleBlend is a residential VoIP phone service provider that provides broadband phone coverage in 85% of the United States. As a company, TeleBlend strives to deliver full-featured, low-cost, and plug-and-play service to consumers. Plus, with certain deals, you can even get internet as a part of the bargain.

How does TeleBlend work?

TeleBlend works with your existing broadband internet connection and in conjunction with an included TeleBlend adapter (the "Gizmo") to help you make and receive calls. Here is what you will need for TeleBlend service:

  • An existing broadband internet connection
  • A corded or cordless analog phone
  • A TeleBlend adapter (the "Gizmo")

TeleBlend offers a variety of plans. The Unlimited Calling plan is one of the cheapest on the market: only $15.95 a month for unlimited residential calls between the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada—and without a contract. The Unlimited Annual Plan offers the same features and calling, but requires a contract to lock in the lower price. Their Global Unlimited Plan runs a few dollars more per month but includes unlimited calling to 47 popular countries (it also requires a one-year contract). The Global Limited Plan, in contrast, offers 300 international minutes to 42 countries, but without a contract.

TeleBlend’s most cost-effective option is the High-Speed DSL with Phone Plan. This bundle has an upper price limit of $39.99 a month, significantly cheaper than similar broadband internet services, not to mention the included VoIP telephone service.

Is TeleBlend worth it?

We recommend that anyone interested in buying TeleBlend service should read the user reviews here first.

I have been having issues with Teleblend as soon I renewed 1-year contract in January and paid in full in advance. Within a week the phone system wasn't working. It took them 11 days to resolve the issue, not to mention how many times I called and emailed them begging to resolve the issue so I have phone service. Within few days the problem re-appeared and I was out of the phone service for another 7 days. Customer Service Agents are horrible. They will make you feel like an idiot for calling them to report a problem. They will never apologize for their terrible service. One person actually told me "if you are not satisfied with our service, why don't you find another provider?" When I asked if they would give me my money back (pro-rated), he refused saying I signed the contract and will not get a dime back. Apparently Customer Service Reps cannot call their Engineers or see any status updates. Only thing they can do is email their engineers and wait until the engineers gets back to them.
My phone keeps having issues at least once a month and I am out of service for several days each time. So far Teleblend did not apologize for their bad service or reimburse me a penny for it. In June 2013, they decided to replace the gizmo as it wasn't working on either Phone 1 or Phone 2 ports, but I had to pay for the gizmo. Even the new gizmo went out of service 3 times so far. My phone is out of service since August 31st night till this moment I am writing this review.
Teleblend's billing department is another nightmare. They double charge every now and then and after going through so much hassle they will simply send an email saying we are crediting the money back to your credit card. The very next month they will double charge again with a $5.00 non-payment penalty for previous month. I had to argue with one lady for twenty minutes asking her to explain why there is a penalty when they made a mistake and they credited the money back and now they are charging penalty for it, not to mention I paid one full year of service in advance to get their $99.99/year deal. And then you cannot disable to auto-payment feature from the account either. That's how ridiculous they are.
Although my contract doesn't expire for another four months, I will be switching over to another company in a month or so and take the loss. I am really tired of dealing with these people. I strongly recommend everyone to stay away from this company.

I've been with Teleblend service for many years since the previous provider been acquired.
It offers a low cost plan with basic feature which is good to have as a 2nd family line.
Until recently, there's a need for me to make lots of international conference call.
I decided to switch to anther provider who offers international call feature with very attractive package.
Though the portable rule, I was informed by the new service provider that my number can not been transported due to pending on TeleBlend.
When I called the TeleBlend Customer Service & Technical Support (the same person!)
I not only got no support but a rude response.

Basic feature and low price
Awful Customer service.

Their billing department is incompetent. My bill has increased by 30% in the last two years. This company was what was left when the original company went bankrupt. I had pre-paid for a year. Two months later they went bankrupt and was given a reduced rate after my loss. I see on twitter they are doing a year pre-paid, that is how they suckered me the first time. You may apparently get an in-expensive phone company but they make it up by double billing every couple of months. So they are either incompetent or crooks.

Good website features
They double billed me 4 times in the last year. I took a charge back from my credit card company for the latest one of their double billings. They canceled the service and demand $100 for a re-instatement. They have still double-billed me to the tune of $60.

Overall my experience with Teleblend has been positive from signup to setup. I am hoping for a long relationship since the cost to use Teleblend is so much less than to use my cell phone. Honestly i am am giving up my big cell plan and using the Teleblend product more and relying on cheap no data cell plan. tony119

low cost to use, friendly support and well informed and had me up and running really quickly this morning.
for me there are no cons because it does everything i need it to do.

TeleBlend is definitely a quality home phone service. I have been a customer since SunRocket and have had very few service issues. When I did have an issue with my phone adapter, TeleBlend replaced it for free and earned themselves a customer for life. They might not be as big as some of their competitors, but the service is reliable and they have always been fair and treat me with respect.

The price and features can't be beat. I pay less than $20/mo for unlimited US and Canada calls along with features like call forwarding, email notification and call blocking. I can also make changes 24/7 from my smart phone which is very convenient.
Customer service isn't open 24/7, but the reps are very knowledgeable and experienced so issues are resolved on the first point of contact instead of being escalated endlessly like some other players in the industry

I as many others here was grandfathered from SunRocket (which I loved btw) to Teleblend in 2007. It worked alrite till the beginning of this year when I have noticed that the website would not give my account information but some strange numbers instead. I called them and they told me that they have moved the billing date and began billing me yearly instead of monthly. They told me that I shouldn't be concerned because my billing will be "caught up" in August. Last month I payed my bill as usual but the total has not been adjusted. Moreover, they have issued another bill next day. So if before I had bills for $58 (no matter what I do) on the 14th of each month now I got another one for $58 on 15th of July. Even worse, thou I have paid my current charges, I had a "collection" call from a jayson and they suspended my service so I can not make my weekly call to mom. I fell very much betrayed after being their customer from very beginning.

Nice internet features like call blocking and messaging
Terrible customer service, non - existent accounting. I suspect they run it from a garage with obsolete software and rude customer service guy.

Below is a snapshot of my payment history with Teleblend VOIP.
I reviewed my credit card statement and noticed the payment posting dates are fluctuated beginning december 2009.
August 2011 is when I had 2 payments posted in the same month.
If you have your VOIP phone service with Teleblend and you have been paying your bill via Automatic payment, I suggest that you should look at your Teleblend account payment history to review charges posted by Teleblend.
They slowly manipulating the payment cycles. The "Date Received" Column is the payment posting date. I been receiving ebills and I haven't been paying close attention until now.
Watch out for your billing statement Teleblend's customer if this hasn't happened to you yet.
I will be contacting Teleblend regarding this issue, and I will keep everyone posted

I been a SunRocket customer for a few years prior to Teleblend taking over SunRocket's good name. Teleblend has been acceptable with their VOIP quality to me until I noticed the billing/payment posting date manipulation.
I considering a different VOIP carrier, who would be honest with their billing.

I cannot believe the complaints of folks like wabah. Why is it that everyone is trying to get something for nothing? Companies cannot do business for free. The companies that do offer free trials or waive fees, make up for it on the back end with hidden charges and fees and fine print. I would rather the company be honest like they did with the chat with Wabah. They don't waive the fees, good. Wabah want's a free trial so he/she can try and if he does not like it, get all his money back? This isn't Burger King. If you use the service you will be charged for it. If you don't "like" it, then cancel your service and move on. Stop trying to get refunds. It is people like Wabah that drive costs of doing business up because they are the ones that stand in line at our stores and complain that they were deceived that the bananas at the store said $0.68/lb and now they were charged $0.69/lb. Please people, Stop being this whiny, self-centered individuals with entitlement issues. I complete agree with what the rep said on the chat room. The fact is I have signed up for the service, completely love it and save over $25 per month on my phone bill over Comcast. Best of all, I can assign numbers to all my kids at home so they can have their own voicemail accounts and log to their own portal to manage their features. All this for $15.95? Phenominal. Way to go, TeleBlend. Don't waive any fees for any of the losers that want something for free. If you want something in life, earn it or pay for it. That simple.

I don't know what "wahab's" problem is, but he/she definitely has an attitude.  Get over yourself and admit that the world doesn't revolve around mooches like you.  There are costs associated with running a buinsess and if you don't like the price structure, well, that's what capitalism is all about.  Find someone else.
I, too, was scammed by Sunrocket - signed up for the 2-year deal for 1-year pricing and only got 3 months!  grrrr...but,
I have found Teleblend to provide good overall service, but, contrary to most posters here, I have found their customer service to be the high point!  I recently moved within state and had no trouble finding out my options and receiving instructions on how to get a new number in my new area code.  Everything was well explained and the CS reps were extremely friendly and well informed.  I have also used this service with cable internet as well as DSL, and their help forums were great in setting it up with DSL, as there is a PPPoe setting to change between cable internet service and DSL.
Now, my only complaint at this point - half the time I try to answer calls, the call isn't answered, the caller just hears a continuing ring and goes to VM.  Happens sometimes, and other times, not.  ??  That is actually why I am here - was going to the teleblend site to look for solutions.  Who knows, it may be my phone, but I'll start troubleshooting with the service, as equipment failures are pretty rare.
Oh yeah, and almost forgot - the $15.95 (or whatever) is much less than our old LD bill, so I have kept the POTS line and use this one as a second line in the home and for all LD calls.  Great deal!

I have had Teleblend since Sun Rocket went under.  I cannot remember a time when I have not had a dialtone and service in 2+ years.  I have read the negative reviews but I understand that only so much customer service can be provided when they charge so little.  My experience with CS is that they are always polite and the level of service has been entirely adequate.  In my opinion, the best customer service they have provied me is a dial tone each and every time I have used their service.  If I have dial tone and can receive calls, that is the best customer service I could ask for.

Best VOIP Value anywhere. They provide reliable service at an incredible price.
The are apparently a very small outfit and their web portal is somewhat of a work in progress...some stuff works and some stuff doesn't.
