Ooma is incredibly affordable and keeps me connected to my children at home. The app offers amazing features such as portability and away from home accessibility to your voicemail. Upgrade to premium and you can set up call forwarding. Ooma is a great solution if you're tired of the over priced services from traditional phone companies.

I have been using Ooma for over two years and have saved nearly $900 in that time on the cost of a landline. It’s not only saving me a lot of money, I actually get a better service, with free calls anywhere in Canada, whereas the landline only offered free local calls. The audio quality is just as good as the landline and I have had no problems with it whatsoever. Initial set up is easy and the Ooma techs are always available if help is needed.

Pros Extremely cost effective, reliable, clear.

Cons No battery backup for power outages in original model.

I've been with Ooma for almost a year. We saved $25/month by switching from our landline ISP provider. We haven't experienced a single outage or disconnect. The call quality is better than a regular landline. More features such as spam blocking, forward to mobile phone, etc. We started purchasing the water leak sensors which are priced aggressively at $35/each. It will notify me by phone call, email and text when a leak is detected. This added monitoring feature is completely free. I must admit there was hesitation when switching from a landline service but I don't regret it.

Ooma has been a great service! Been with them for several years and has saved me $100s of dollars over a traditional land line. The voice quality is great and I’ve never had any issues. The app is very useful to see when someone leaves a voicemail and you can play it or save it for later.

Pros Value. Voice quality Amazing app

Cons Connected to internet. So if internet is down then there is no phone service available

We've used Ooma Telo for several years now and have saved over $5,000 on our phone bill. Ooma Telo is reliable and has a consistently clear connection. Now that we're working from home, it's one less thing to worry about. You really can't go wrong with Ooma Telo!

I installed this Ooma Telo in 2018, over two years ago. It went in smoothly. I did not want to import my old number; rather I just chose a new number from Ooma's site. The device provided phone service to 3 phones I had in my home. Sound quality was excellent. The unit cost $99 and the "taxes and fees" are about $5.50 per month- that's it. . However, it stopped working a few days ago; just flashes red.. Since then, I have spent HOURS trying to reset the Ooma box, and I'm pretty knowledgeable with I.T. devices.. Lots of ideas (FAQs) on the Ooma site but nothing really helped. Today, I could not even find an option on their phone menu for a Live Support person. I went on their Chat box. Waited about 15 minutes and chatted with a rep for about 30 minutes. She tried a lot of steps then finally said I should try powering down my modem, router, ethernet switch, and Ooma box-- then repower all of them. IF that did not help, she said, then call back to the main number. (She did give me the phone menu options at least.) Great. . Called back, got help after 8 minutes; spent 20 minutes working with a different rep on the phone. He offered some of the same advice as the Chat Rep, and of course the device still does not work (the same). After all that, he said he would attempt to reset my account from his end, which would require that I wait one hour and look at the OOma box again. IF that did not help, he said I should call back (naturally) but ask for a Tier 2 Technical Specialist. . Gee, why didn't they tell me that yesterday??? I am still without a phone. BOTTOM LINE: When it works, it sounds great, but support is very limited.

If you are looking for a business IP Phone Service certainly stay away from Ooma. If I could give it negative star rating I would. They mislead you by telling you that there is a full money back guarantee but that is not the truth. They would not let us see the platform or walk through it with us until we signed up and provided a credit card; which is fine. They told me that they needed to charge an Activation fee but if I wasnt happy with the service it would be refundable. After we provided our cc then we had access to the site and soon ralized it was not for our liking; it was very basic, plain, and lacked numerous features that almost all competitors have. Literally within 2-hours of signing up, we sent an email and left a message that we wanted to cancel the service. A few days later I noticed the activation company was on by credit card. I called Ooma and requested the refund but the rep told me the activation fee is non refundable. I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor told me she would not refund the activation fee. I told her that it was not a wise business decision because I would share my experience on social media and her reply was go ahead. This company must be very hard-up to swindle people out of "activation fees". We never even made or received any calls and cancelled within 2-hours. I strongly suggest looking at the competitors because you will get much more bang for your buck and the services are much better.

After the initial free Premiere service is over (30 days) we started receiving an avalanche of robo calls. We can no longer use our home phone we get so many robo, sales, and scam calls. Ooma wants $120 per year to stop the calls. We are held hostage by Ooma. Stay way from Ooma. Stay far far away.

I have an Ooma Telo with a residential line and an office line. Voice quality is good, and the service has been reliable. However, the customer service is poor. I recently purchased from Ooma a WiFi/Bluetooth adapter to connect my Telo wirelessly. The instructions have a link to click to set up, however the link was broken. I tried the chat service twice but no luck. Then I went to the phone lines. No luck with the first level of customer support and no luck with the second level of support. The third level of customer support was supposed to call back Tuesday. I waited four days but no call back. I called back in. The third level referred me to the fourth level which was supposed to be engineering. After three hours, the third level called back (customers can't speak to engineering). The engineer had solve the problem: my home network name had "spaces" in it!!! What does this indicate? Poor website instructions, poor paper instructions with the product, poorly informed product support at levels one, two, and three, and poor internal communications from engineering. Eric B. Stang, the Ooma CEO, received 2.7 million dollars in total compensation last year. For this level of performance, I'd say he was overpaid by about 2.6 million dollars.

Pros Voice quality good, reliable service.

Cons Untrained customer support. Failure to call back when promised. Poor website installation instructions. Poor printed installation instructions.

Ooma has very shoddy business practices. There are many other companies to choose from that provide much better service!

Ooma quoted me a monthly price for their home service of only taxes and fees once I bought the actual device to get things up and running. The device is a one time charge of $99.00 Since purchasing the device/unit, I have been charged over $10 per month when I was told I would be charged only taxes and fees per month. Those taxes and fees come in at right under $5.00 per month, yet I'm being charged over $10 per month. Ooma has not been helpful at all in getting this issue worked out. Now, I'm stuck with a $99.99 device and charges of double what I was quoted per month. Do not use Ooma. Terrible company. Horrible customer service. Impossible to get a hold of and also rude once you do! Stay away!
