This affordable cloud-based phone system offers two options for international calling: Standard Rate and Plan Rate. With the Ooma Telo Plan Rate option, users can use up to 1,000 minutes of international calling for under $10 per month. On the other hand, Ooma Telo’s Standard Rate offers no monthly fee, and most calls to 61 countries are typically lower than 1¢ per minute.With the Ooma Telo phone system, users will pay only basic fees and taxes as required by law. These vary by location due to state tax rates, but generally the cost may run between $3 and $4 per month. If you are looking for a low-cost, reliable VOIP service, then Ooma is a great choice! I had a previous service though would consistently drop calls at the 45 minute mark. So I needed a new service that did not have the same issue. I am happy to report that I have been an Ooma customer for several years and I have never had an issue!

Pros Low Cost, easy to use, reliable

Cons Depending on the number you select, be prepared for a barrage of spam calls. Even if you elect their Premiere service, it doesn't filter everything out. BUT... that is the same problem all telecom services have - this is not unique to Ooma.

I have had this service for over a year and have not had any issues. The price is very affordable to buy the unit and then the cost is very minimal. Set up is very easy. I liked that I was able to port my phone number over

Saves you a ton of money while providing land line features. Been using it since Jan 2015 and it never goes down unless the internet service is down. Fantastic service to use!!

Call quality is superior,potties can't be beat. The service is super dependable and has never been down in the nearly 10 years we've had it. Highly recommend it.

OOMA has saved me untold amounts of money since I signed up 4 to 5 years ago. It works great as long as you have electricity and internet service. No dropped calls at all. Good interface, easy to install and use. If you want, you can add premium for many more features or just pay the taxes and fees that governments charge. Glad I made the switch.

I have had other VIOP service and I thought unreliability was simply what you put up with for the price. When I decided to switch to Ooma, I just assumed it would be similar. I was delighted to be surprised that it’s so reliable. The only time I have issues is when my own Internet goes out. I’ve never had an issue with it. I actually had to dust off the box the other day because I never touch it :) It’s that reliable!

Cons The only con I can think of is that some of the features are add-ons. I have the basic service which has served me well.

I purchased an Ooma Telo about 4 years ago. My brother, who has used Ooma for several years, recommended it to me. Set up was a snap. Being retired and living on a relatively fixed income, it was important that I see a monthly savings. And I did. Since installing the Ooma Telo for home, I estimate I've saved at least $1200 in landline fees and possibly as much in saved mobile phone minutes, as I have the Ooma app, available for both Android and Apple products. My monthly phone bill is now $5.25 a month, give or take a few cents. That's for local taxes, fees, etc. While the Basic plan, which is what I have, is not as feature-loaded as the Premier Plan, it serves my purposes well. I have family and friends scattered from Hawaii to Florida, from Washington State to Texas. I can call all of them with no long distance fees for mainland USA and very reasonable fees for overseas calls. The Premier Plan is just $9.99 a month + local fees and that includes many of the features that others want, including enhanced security and call forwarding and call waiting and free calling to the USA and Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico. However, I no longer need many of those services, so I opted for the Basic plan.

Pros Low monthly cost as compared to regular phone services, such as ATT, etc. Saves a bundle. Calling continental USA with no charges.

Cons When the home internet service goes down (and you know no matter what ISP you use, it will at some point) your landline is down, too. Wish they had a single call plan for Europe and Hawaii instead of the two monthly plans for unlimited international calls, but they're not included with the Basic plan. One can purchase a "pay-as-you-go" plan to use for international calls and the rates are quite reasonable.

I've been using Ooma for years now and have no complaints. I used to pay around $40-$50 per month with my cable company just to have a phone line. Sadly, for my work, I still need a backup landline as my cell phone reception is somewhat shoddy where I live. To date, Ooma service has not let me down and works far better than my cable phone line ever did. I have just the basic phone package however the ability to adds features/services to your account is super easy. You have complete control over how much you pay and what services you get. I've been steadily paying about ~$8 per month for my phone and couldn't be happier.

Pros Inexpensive, a la carte features/options, great and reliable sound quality.
