i have never had to call customer service. It was easy to install and I was able to keep my old phone number. I have excellent phones so reception is excellent.

Huge savings. Can use all my phones throughout the house and garage. I save over $300 a year and I was able to keep my old number. Can take it with me where ever I am and plug in and get my calls or use the ipad app.
No call fwd. but I do have the ipad app so can answer and make phone calls from my ipad. Do have to use area code with each call dialed and every once in Awhile will drop a call, but easy to just call back. The savings are worth these few cons.

Terrible customer service, they took away the call forward feature and would not refund my money. I signed up and paid for the purpose of using it to call forward a business number. Then the next week call forward did not work. Tried to get a refund and they refused..

Chatting with the customer service representatives is a waste. They don't know the answers or can't make a decision but refers everything to the Review Department who hasn't responded to my question/concerns for the past 16 plus days. The founder of Magic Jack may be a smart person but doesn't know _ _ _ _ about customer service or taking care of customers. Why is that a tech company such as these doesn't know how to work with the customers. It wouldn't surprise me if the company is jockeying itself to be sold to a highest bidder....

When you have a problem with a Magic Jack, my first thought is Good Luck! Been on the "Chat" for the past 3 hours without resolving anything. Only response I get is, "Your problem has been sent to the Review Department." When asked when the Review Department will let me know, the answer I get is "quickly as possible." It's been over 16 days since the last "Chat" and no Review Department rep. has contacted me. This happened when I was in Afghanistan and unfortunately Magic Jack was the only means of contacting my family. Since the "Review Department" hadn't contacted me (am still waiting) I had to wait until I could get to a different phone system. Thank God we weren't attack....
When asked again via a "Chat" today, the response I get was the same: "The Review Department will get back to you." So I asked to be in contact with this Department, but was told there isn't anyone who can "Chat" with me or take my phone calls. Oh, did I tell you Magic jack does not have a 1 800 toll free number. So I asked the customer service rep if I can talk to his supervisor. He tells me he is the supervisor but has no other supervisor I can "Chat" with. He was nice enough to give me his CEO name, who I think is a smart guy but doesn't know _ _ _ _ about customer service. Maybe, he should attend an MBA school or a charm school to learn about customer service. His staff can't resolve anything or can't make any decisions. I've just wasted three hours "Chatting..."
My recommendation is to choose a company that offer a toll free number so that you can talk to a person, unless you like "Chatting." Furthermore, having a customer service reps that can make some decisions instead of passing the buck to a higher being (Review Department). I highly doubt if this "Review Department" is real....

No Customer Service
Was on the "Chat" for 3 hours with no resolution. This company does not have a 1800 toll free number, so they don't accept calls. Furthermore, Customer Service Department has one "Supervisor" who wouldn't allow me to talk to anyone else.

This is the 2nd adapter that's gone defective since I bought it in January. Running very hot. They're trying to say it's because it's plugged into a surge protector. Have had MagicJack for 3 years; just got the Plus in January and the adapter for it is a piece of junk. They want me to pay for shipping a new one and being without a phone for 3-5 days, after they receive my defective one back (so more like 10 days). Told them I had a medical condition and couldn't be withoug my phone but evidently that doesn't matter to them.

Cannot speak to anyone in Customer Service regarding technical issues with their product; only online chats. My first online chat regarding my defective adapter was with a very rude manager who said since I hadn't answered (after 3 seconds) he was ending the chat.

Just signed up to MajicJack today and paid for a Canadian number.
I realized that the number I chose was not suitable and called them within the hour.
They said I could change it -but cost $20
My impression is this company is just out to get every dollar they can from you.
Phone quality not the best as hear a bit of distortion in the background

There are more and better service providers like magic jack out there and cheaper with great customer service. I would check the others out before dealing with Magic Jack. What a waste of time and money.

Worked nice when I got it
Paid $90.00 for the first year, then it was only supposed to be $19.95 every year after. I ended up moving shortly after buying the magic jack plus and mis placed the device for a few months. When I found it I should have had about five more months of time left. Well they said they never received my payment back in December. And I would have had to pay another $80.00. My bank faxed them my statement that I was charged and magic jack told me it was all cleared up back in December. Now im trying to use it after finding it after my move Five months later and they again said i have an unpaid Balance of $80.00. Fraud

I could not get my Magic Jack Plus to work at all.... It kept dropping calls after 35 seconds and if you have issues you have to web chat with technical support... no phone support.
I am pretty good with computers and had to go in and change setting in my wireless router...If this would have been my wife or mom they would not have been able to complete these steps. After two days of dropped calls and numerous web chats with no solution to my issues... I finally got fed up and took mine back for a refund... Would not recommend this product to anyone.

You can buy in just about store... that's it
Does't work well at all....all a tv sales pitch

1. No customer service over the phone provided
2. It takes up to 10 business days to port your home phone # to Magic Jack. Meanwhile you can't get any incoming calls to your phone call either. So you out of reach for up to 10 business days from any of your contacts who is trying to call your home phone #
3. You have to register your physical home address on Magic Jack's website in order to use 911 service. I found out about it just purely by chance. If you don't do it, you won't be able to call 911 in case of emergency from Magic Jack. That really sucks!!! Imagine someone has a heart attack and can't get an ambulance because of that
