I was with Lingo for over a year and when they could not charge my card they suspended my account. They then charged me for another month and claimed it was in the contract. While holding the customer service agent on the phone I went through the contract and it never said anything of the sort. Lingo lies and the customer service agents repeat the same things over and over to make you think it is 1-- it is not. After I proved the lady wrong she hung up the phone on me and to this day I have not got the charges removed from my account. To be honest I can not say its worth your time to argue with these people over $33, you will be on hold for hours and the people you talk to have no power to change anything. The best thing to do is never sign up, I would love to tell you justice will prevail but it probably will not. If people stop signing up and the people who are upset cancel we will drive them out of business. For ever person who writes there are probably 10 who feel the same way and will not write. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY A TRY. AT &T says every 11 seconds someone switches back to them will chances are they are from Lingo. Lingo alone has set back voip service years, what could have been great is now considered a place for cheats. Lingo is so horrible they will make you not want to try any internet phone service. The best thing to do is never start with Lingo and let them run off the few customers they have left because without a doubt they most surely will.

These people will not treat you like a human. They want you to jump through hoops when you decide that enough is enough. Don't believe any
price under $20. That will be jacked up soon enough. Then when I tried to
end my service, the human robot on the phone actually hung up on me. No less that 3 times I said "turn me off". Yet no shut off. Just Emails telling me I need to call
that same phone line to shut off
as per Terms and Conditions (which
they don't follow themselves).
I'm about to shoot myself.

No complaints about any technical
issues, but it seems Lingo(Primus)
has taken their marketing plans strait from AOL. Plan was advertised at $19.95.
After 1.5 years I'm up to almost $27. Then just try to get them to shut you off. I'm having to block
payments with my credit union.
Way too much crap. No humans reply to Email. I'm going to Skype.

The VOIP stopped working ! One cannot use the phone to call if the voip phone is the only one, then the internet access is also blocked, then you go to the local store, to find out there is 30 minutes waiting time (but in reality it is more 40 minutes as they pick up the phone and let it stand for some time, I guess to keep the phone stats down) after which someone takes a message saying you will be called back, which they never did (in my case), I did write and again no answer. It has been a week that I am unreachable. I am fed up. I am OUT of Voip. The system is not ready yet.

I own a business and was looking for VOIP that allowed me to set call forwarding schedules to my cell phone during customer support hours, plus I was looking for an inexpensive toll free solution. Lingo provides me with both features. At first the Lingo website assigned me primary and toll free numbers that were alrady taken, I called customer support and they were able to get me new numbers and even called me a couple weeks later to verify the Toll Free number was working properly. I signup through www.voip-rebates.com which saved me additional $20.

I had lingo for about a year . I was attracted to their
free W.Europe deal. The voice quality was not great,
but since this was my first voip service I had nothing
to compare it to. Also their software started crashing
about once a week. I finally gave up on them and moved over to Vontage. I'm paying about $5/m more
but their service has never gone down on me and
the voice quality is better although still not up to
the standard of regular land lines. But I'm saving a small fortune on phone bills so I'm a happy camper.

Lingo is not able/willing to resolve a problem with you it entails keeping you on hold forever and then just passing you off to Indian tech support who can only read from a script. I had a problem with my Lingo device for over 6 months and every time I called I received the same run around. They would never replace the device, pass me up to an individual with more authority who could help or return my calls when they had said they would call back. Avoid this service as you are on your own.
There voice quality and features are very decent, though. If it were not for the lack of any customer service that actually meets the description of the title, I would be able to recommend them but having children and an unreliable due to having an UNCARING phone provider is not acceptable.
I have "upgraded" to a new service with Comcast's Digital Voice as my only option for service was going to have to come from another company.

I've had Lingo since early 2004 and it is now my main "land line" phone number. It has been flawless, no downtime at all! The additional phone lines work great and I quit other VoIP services to concentrate on Lingo. I was able to migrate my Qwest phone number within a few days - no problems. Highly Recommended!

I had a Lingo account as a second line with no long distance. I recently found out that my account was not accepting calls. Lingo had "accidentally" suspended my account. I found that my billing was UP TO DATE. I asked for a credit for a month of service, (25.10) with taxes. The customer service department explained that they could not refund the taxes and regulatory fees... Even though I had paid for them... AND NOT received service for approximately 22 days! Please save yourself the trouble, do not get Lingo (Primus).
