We have been with Jive since July 2012. We are extremely satisfied with Jive’s Customer Service, Tech Support, and the Jive system itself. When we have questions or need help with router settings, adding/deleting another phone, or creating dial plans, they have been friendly, patient, helpful, and easy to contact. Jive Management is doing something right with training and culture.
Switching from regular phones to VOIP phones was a major decision – but we absolutely chose the right company. Hooking up with Jive was one of the best business technology decisions we’ve made. The Web PBX Admin makes it very easy and intuitive to create users, add devices, lines, extensions, auto-attendants, sound clip recordings, call-paths, dial-plans, voicemail boxes, ring groups, hold music, schedules to play different greetings, forwarding, find-me, etc, etc. The phones are easy to configure.
We have 32 Voip phones located in 7 different cities in the San Francisco Bay Area and 1 in Idaho. We have 12 phones connected at our Main office, 14 at our warehouse, and 6 remote home users. Our staff who work from their homes are connected through their home internet service provider and it feels just like they are in the main office. One of our employees went to live with her husband in the military who was stationed in Hawaii – she simply took her Polycom IP phone with her – connected to the internet in her apartment – and never missed a beat. We can hire anyone anywhere if they have a high-speed internet connection.
Our Main office has Comcast Internet 100Mbps download/20Mbps upload, using an Adtran Netvanta 3120 Router with Qos (Jive configured for us), and a standard 24 port switch (Modem>Router>Switch>Phones>PC’s). We have 12 phones and 28 PC’s all sharing bandwidth in the main office – that’s 40 devices on one Comcast connection….. and we have not had any major jitter or voice quality issues with Jive.
As with any business - our phones are our life blood. We have a very high call volume office. Our staff handles calls from doctors, patients, and insurance companies constantly throughout the day, and we have not had any major downtime with Jive. A couple of years ago Jive went down temporarily for a few hours during a bad storm only because there were power outages around the country. Down 1 day in 3 years? I would have to say they are extremely reliable.
Based on my experience, anyone who says Jive does not work should perform a simple process of elimination: check your internet connection speed at speedtest.net, and check the quality of your internet connection (jitter and packet loss) at pingtest.net, or run a simple ping test from the DOS prompt (ping –t www.google.com), and/or power cycle the modem & router. Jive does not pass the blame, they help you with your router settings to make it work right.
I don’t write reviews on the internet, but I wanted to write this review because I remember the fear and hesitation I experienced trying to choose the right VOIP provider and the right equipment – and trying to make sense of it all with a thousand questions. I remember being confused and overwhelmed and worried about downtime and quality and cost…. Jive makes it simple and does it right.
