SpeakEasy, VoIP has been incredible for us; the quality of their customer service and the phone service has been nothing less than excellent.  Initially, it was  a little rocky thanks to SBC's equipment  but my connection to the VoIP and the internet is wonderful.  I've experienced almost no troubles with the line and everyone thinks it is so cool that it sounds so much like a regular phone.  Static IP, phone adaptor plug-in and play, disconnect internal wiring, plug phone cord into a splitter on phone jack and all jacks are live and working 100%.  Simple as that?!!! There are several companies that provide VoIP Services to businesses and residential customers  but if I were to do it all over again, I would choose SpeakEasy without a doubt.

Ever since VOIP became an option, I have been using the service.  I started out with Vonage but after a couple of years, I decided to switch my voip over to Speakeasy.net with whom I had my DSL (internet service provider). Speakeasy has excellent Customer Service, solid pings and latency, and very little downtime over all of these years. I must say, it is a breath of fresh air to call a company and have the CR Rep sound like they are thrilled with their job and truly want to be there and help you with any issues that you might have.  This is rare and for this alone, I give Speakeasy an all 5 star rating.

Where do I start? The worst is that they have a bug in their billing code. It records 911 calls as international calls which aren't included in most of their packages. A call to 911 generates a negative balance preventing subsequent calls including another 911 emergency call. One has to add the minimum of $10, above and beyond the monthly charge to reinstate service or wait call customer service and argue your case. The balance of the $10 is stuck in Voicestick coffers in case you need to make an international call or god forbid another 911 call. They won’t take it off your next bill. Customer support is minimal with only business hours (8-5) access, poorly trained people and a desire to close tickets that greatly exceeds their willingness to help customers. User features are minimal at best despite continuing promises to add features. There isn’t any “call busy” or “no answer” rollover which makes their “business service” useless for most organizations needing multiple incoming lines. If you are looking for fast track features, Voicestick is a Yugo when most people are looking for a Cadillac. Many services give tours of their online interface for prospective customers; Voicestick has to be too embarrassed to offer a tour… Call quality is fair on their best day, unusable on some days. Finally, there are the outages including the THREE day one caused by server failure. For an operation as big as they claim to be to not have back up systems is inexcusable.
