The Polycom SoundStation2 is designed to give you mobility during conference calls. The sensitive microphones can pick up on voices from up to 10 feet away. The SoundStation2 is ideal for situations in which several people need to participate in a conference call.

This conference phone is designed specifically for analog phone lines, but it can also work for digital calling. Some customers report issues with using the SoundStation2 for VoIP calling, but according to Polycom, the conference phone needs to be plugged into the computer in order to work with conference calls, or you can use an adapter. In addition, it can connect to a mobile phone in cases where there is no plug-in for an analog phone in your conference room.

The Polycom SoundStation2 includes many basic features like automatic redial and call holding. It also supports some more advanced features like a backlit LCD screen and a programmable contact list. It should be noted, however, that the contact list can only hold phone numbers that are 15 digits long or shorter. This may be an issue if you need to save some international phone numbers which may be longer than 15 digits.

The strongest feature of the Polycom SoundStation2 is its call clarity. Most customers report excellent sound quality even when the person speaking is far away from the microphone.
