Virtual PBX is a cost-effective business solution to a traditional phone system. According to their website, Virtual PBX is the original hosted PBX phone system.
How Virtual PBX works
Callers dial your local, toll free or international number and are greeted by an auto attendant who uses the virtual PBX to route their call to the proper person at you company, on any type of phone, in any location. If you’d rather have a live attendant, one of your employees can act as operator instead.
Virtual PBX can also be used in conjunction with a VoIP phone for calling out. Since Virtual PBX uses VoIP, there are no long distance charges.
Virtual PBX basics
Virtual PBX offers users:
- Free and unlimited calling and faxing in the continental US and Canada
- Toll free, local and international numbers available
- Flat-rate and usage based plans
- No contracts, no cancellation fees
Why Virtual PBX is great for businesses
Virtual PBX has no hardware or software costs and no maintenance or support fees. Virtual PBX offers a large amount of standard features with every Virtual PBX plan. Some of these include:
- Auto attendant to greet and route callers

- Custom call routing with AutoRoute so you can route VIPs to priority support or your spouse’s calls directly to your extension (for example)

Virtual PBX: Happy with Stability, Quality
Posted on: Apr 03, 2012Ability to record all calls for all extensions. Easy to deploy. Good customer service.
Older looking interface.
We were using Comcast's VOIP service for years, but were getting to a point where we couldn't add more lines to that service. I therefore started researching hosted PBX solutions and decided to sign up for three different ones and try them all out for a month before deciding. The three providers I tried were RingCentral, Ringio and Virtual PBX. In the end I went with Virtual PBX because they were the only ones that provided the ability to record all calls - which we need for training purposes.
I ordered a couple of phones and was happy to see how easy it was to set them up. At first I had some issues with delays and dropped calls, but with the help from their customer support I discovered multiple issues with our network setup. Once these were fixed the quality of the calls improved and we had no more dropped calls. I only have good things to say about the technical support have received.
It is important for anybody who is looking to use VOIP to understand that no matter which provider you choose the call quality will depend on the connection from the phone and all the way to the PBX. That means your internal network, your ISP’s network, and the VOIP providers network. My guess is that 95% of people’s VOIP issues are because of issues on the local network or with the ISP. Don’t underestimate the scope of switching your company’s phones to VOIP, do a pilot run to work out the bugs before you go big.
Today we have over 25 phones running on Virtual PBX and are very happy with the stability, call quality, and cost savings over Comcast.
@Karmaza B: What is a CLOUN? Sorry, but I really can't take your review serious.

Virtual PBX: Sound Quality
Posted on: Mar 23, 2012The ability to have a fax sent to my email
I am very unhappy with the hesitation when speaking on my phone. Worse than a cell phone. I have discussed this with customer service and told that is how the sound quality is.

Virtual PBX: Avoid these clowns
Posted on: Jan 13, 2012huh?
WORST EVER SERVICE!!! They do NOT answer their emails. Support SUCKS!!! Yeah, they allow you to upload your own outgoing messages, but they're soooooooo grainy & extremely poor quality that your customers complain and it reflects poorly on your company, even if the messages you uploaded are crystal clear, professional recordings. Email them the OGMs and support (other than their autresponder) never gets back to you and never uploads them or fixes the problem. IMO they're obviously trying to "SELL" their professional recordings upgrade service by sabotaging the quality on your professionally-recorded uploads. UNBELIEVABLE!! Also, their system takes about 3-4 weeks to learn (it's wayyy over complicated and old-fashioned). We're MONTHS into our service, and still no working menu despite dozens of emails to them!!! AVOID THESE CLOUNS!! More to follow!
