I signed up for VOIPGO few months back for their attractive pricing. But since then their customer service has become totally non-existent and all the problems that I had with their service never got resolved. If you have a problem with your service, there is no way to communicate with the company any more - all means of communication are totally shut off now.

I have been having various problems with my service for the last few months, including being overcharged due to VOIPGO error, but my issues have remained unresolved although I have submitted several emergency tickets on their website. Attempts to contact their customer service via phone or live chat was unsuccessful - they are never online. Only option is to submit a ticket, but all you get is an automated email response and nothing happens after that.

I do not understand how a company like this is allowed to do business. There must be some regulations somewhere to stop these types of scams.

Please, please do not sign up for this company - just choose any other VOIP provider and you will be better off.

I signed up for Voipgo and paid a full year and yes i got my hardware but my phone number never got hooked up. I cant get anyone on the phone, or online and i havent received one email from anyone in that shitty company. They say they are restructuring their customer service but do not believe it. How long does it take to hire someone who knows how to answer a phone? It has been 2 months and I havent been able to make 1 call from my phone. I have given up and accepted that i was scammed by these people. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY, DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS COMPANY AS YOUR PHONE PROVIDER!!

Do not consider VoipGo as your provider

VoipGo seriously deserves a 0/5 rating. I signed up on the 28th of July (two full weeks ago)and have not heard from VoipGo and have not been able to contact them. When calling their number you get a recorded message explaining that they are going through some form of restructuring and training, so no calls will be taken for the next couple of weeks. It goes on to say that they'll be happy to help you via email or online chat.

I tried the online chat, and it appears to be offline all the time. I've been trying it everyday this week, at different times of the day and nobody is ever online. I replied to the original email that they sent confirming my order, and the message came back stating that the address is not monitored, whatever that means. I also emailed them via service ticket on their website, and the same delivery fail notification came back. There is NO way to contact voipgo at this time and it's been two weeks with no support or service.

Do not consider this as a provider. I'm not sure if they've gone bankrupt or what, but you cannot contact anyone. Be warned.

Beware of VOIPGO Scam

Pros: They take your money very quickly.
Cons: There is no customer service so hopefully you can get it set-up and working on your own.

Beware of this provider. They have no customer service, they do not respond to requests by email, and they do not provide the refund as promised. So I paid for the service, I paid for the ATA, and I paid to ship the ATA back to them and they still have not refunded my money.

I just wanted to share this with others because if I had found a review like this before I signed up with VOIPGO, I would have moved on to someone else.

I now have a VOIP provider that I am happy with.

Avoid Viopgo - technical problems, no support, cannot contact company, they do not issue a refund as promised.

The fact that positive reviews exit is disturbing. This company cannot be contacted by phone, chat is sporadically available but refer you to the web based email service, web based email communication initiates an automated ticket receipt but no reply is forthcoming. Two weeks into my first month I had technical problems that rendered the service unusable. I was not able to get a response from tech support. I then attempted to cancel the service but again received no reply. As the end of the month approached I had to cancel my credit card to avoid the experience of another reviewer who continued to get automatically billed. Only after the billing date did I receive a reply indicating that my service was canceled. No mention was ever made of the technical problem. They promised a refund would be issued by check withing 2 months. It never arrived and further attempts to contact the company have been unsuccessful. I once got through on the live chat but was only referred back to the email service.

FIXED DISCONNECT PROBLEM WITH VOIPGO!!!!

CONTACT VOIPGO SUPPORT!!!!!!!! ONLY ONLINE SUPPORT WILL BE FAST AND EFFECTIVEASK FOR THEM TO CHECK YOUR LATENCY..... Normal is 20-80ms (miliseconds)......Replying from your adapter to theirs...... ADAPTERS kick you off at 180ms....THUS SOME PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS........... LIMIT DOWNLOAD AND UPLOAD SPEEDS.....P2P applications disconnect your VOIP!!!! When chatting with the Online Support Live......ask to check your ping-tthey will go play by play how to check it........  GO TO COMMAND PROMPT.................TYPE IN CMD.................. ping (SPACE) -t (SPACE)......

Poor Customer Service

Hi,

My plan was to test out voipgo and see if it could replace my home phone to save me money.    I had not problems ordering the voipgo box and giving a deposit for the box, it was all done online and with Visa.

What you must remember is your phone quality is only as good as your internet connection/speed.  You must also keep in mind that making phone calls over the internet will use bandwidth.  Make sure you know your upload/dowload maximum, some service providers will charger you if you go over your limit. (Cogeco Cable)

Shortly after I received the package in the mail I had no problem setting it up and getting it running.  I then began to call differnt locations, friends and family who lived out of the city to test the quality of the lines. All in all the quality was not bad, not as clear as Bell Canada (My current phone provider) but it was pretty good for what I was paying.

The issues I encountered was that once and a while I had to power cycle (unplug power cable then plug it back in) the voipbox.  It seems like it was getting locked up and I was not able to receive incoming and make out going calls.  When I went online for support I chatted with a tech and suggested I do this, it seemed to do the trick.

This same issue occured again for a longer period of time, upto 4 days.  I tried calling the 1 800 number but I could not get a hold of anyone so I emailed the site and got a reply.

"We are aware of the weekend outage and are truly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused."

What had happend was some of their servers went down while they were doing an upgrade. I was not happy that for 4 days I did not have a phone service.  They were aware of the upgrade and the downtime but they did not attempt to contact any of their clients and let them know or post anything on the website.

After this occurance and the lack of stability the company offered I decided to return the package and cancel my month to month plan.

I wanted to personally drop off the package but that was not possible because they have not physical location.

I mailed the package back to the company and I got no return of deposit or email or confirmation they received the package.

After emailing them, they stated they did not receive the package. I tracked it down with the post office and it was delived to the company.  I provided voipgo with my tracking number and everything.  I even spoke to someone on the phone who said I would get the deposit back in a few weeks.  That was over 4 months ago.  To this day I still did not get my money back.  It is next to impossible to get a hold of someone on the phone, waited on hold for hours!!.  Your best bet is the online chat or email.  They have stopped replying to my emails.  The online chats are not always active.  They have gone for days without someone coming online.  The chats also have a timeout option, if nothing is typed after a set amount of time the chat ends and you have to start all over again.

All in all this company seems very unorganized and without a physical location and a direct number you can never get a hold of anyone.

I do not suggest this company to anyone, unless you are willing to deal with all the above facts.

I hope this helps someone from making the same poor decision I did.

This company does not provide service 24/7.   The phone is not available everyday at the same time for 2 hours

The sound quality is terrible.  In some case I can not even dial a number with the same area code.

I could never contact them regarding these problems :  I never get any answer.

I decided to cancel my phone after 2 weeks :   I never get the refund as it is written in the contract.

I've had voipgo for 13 months and have been very pleased with it since day 1. Last week when we had an emergency we figured out that we cannot call 911 using voipgo. It's not a dial plan issue; I am a voip tech myself and have tried every dialplan I can think of to test 911 and it always returns with fast busy. I contacted support; they said they are going to get back to me in 48hrs. They never did. Contacted support again this time I was asked "how frequently we need to dial 911"?!?!?! I was also told this will have to be relayed to a manager and that they don't know how long it would take and how I would hear back from them. Please see the chat session log below; and decide how important it is for them to have a customer with 911 calling issue..

Voipgo:just because i dont have answers to things that my boss is going to do doesnt mean that its not going to happen. i mean whats the difference which was he contacts you?

Voipgo:if youd like to request a specific way to be contacted ill let him know, but please dont expect me to know exact details of his actions

me: don't you follow any guidelines?

me: is there no ticketing system?

me: can you at least provide me with a reference number so next I need to call I can use that number?

me: I'm trying to be cautious cause I had problems with voipgo support twice previously.

Voipgo:yes there is, but after being here for 3 years you are the first to ever come along with an issue with 911, and forgive me for not knowing this procedure

Horrible service!

This voip company is perhaps the worst of the lot!  Their service is totally unreliable, customer service almost non-existent (and rude!), and they hardly reply to any queries on your account and even technical questions on their service. Avoid totally!!
